My heart goes out to his family. I think ISM is doing a great job but there are going to be casualties. For all practical purposes the Government of Israel is at war with the entire world community of human rights activists.

For those unfamiliar with the case,which just occurred last weekend,just put his name on google and you'll bring up various press accounts. There was a media blackout - or "brown-out" - in the U.S. where only California newspapers gave it much coverage and only because he's from there. U.S. papers don't like to publish anything that might cast Zionism in an unflattering light.

Sometimes when governments, politicians or legit organizations fail to prevent a series of murders, that's when a plain, simple, giving individual comes into play.
He (Anderson) wanted to join the free spirited people of Gaza to stop the massacre of the Palestinians. Instead he was shot in the head by the jew army forces.

To me all of these peace-guys are our the last hope for a better planet.
These are the guys that do not go around packing some blue steel heat in their pockets, don't use uranium shells to make a statement but most of all they are the true Christian Apostles that they don't care if the next guy is Muslim or Hindu or even a jew if a life would be saved by their presence.

People have a right to demonstrate and by any standard firing an RFG-style tear gas cannister at close range with a high-powered rifle into someone's head is a deliberate attempt to commit murder.

Nothing like this has happened in the U.S. since Kent State in 1970 and that triggered off a national scandal that took three years to abate. This is the third time they have injured an ISM activist to the point of permanent disability. Apparently they do not wish to provide us with any more martyrs than Rachel Corrie. It happened in fascist state,yes. I would say so. People have a right to assemble and to demonstrate in any free and civilized nation.

Whatever he was in the middle of was an extremely violent and chaotic scene, with riot police under virulent attack by protesters and struggling to maintain order.

An officer fired a teargas grenade, it stayed in the canister, and it hit him in the head. It was obviously not intentional.

If you watch the angle of entry of that tear gas canister you will see it came from a great distance and has started to fall !

Correction - During a peaceful protest from Latino's in Los Angeles the LAPD attacked these protestors much like the IDF. So, the US is also an example of police brutality amongst peaceful protests from minorities.

There is much more in the article but I remember this on television. Whoever said that the this "would never happen in the US" is a fool because hate crimes at the hands of our police officers is a ongoing criminal activity.
Try looking to see protests in Palestine, or are there any because that would be a scene of utter brutality at the hands of Hamas. Put things in perspective here, while I do not agree with the handling of some situations in Israel, there are far worse crimes going on in your own backyard and elsewhere in the Middle East.

First, please refer to the "old testement" as the Torah and second of all, Jews do not enforce their religion on Christians and the majority think that Christians believe what they want as Jews believe in the Torah. You are so misinformed about the majority of the IDF having committed war crimes because I hate to break it to you but every Israeli must join the army, women and men. It makes me wonder why they even let these people into the country if they are going to get in the way and act like that. It was a military zone and it wasn't an attack, it was an accident with a tear gas cannister. This particular person is a member of ISM who has a record of causing a ruckus with people really getting themselves in dangerous situations and Tristan has been arrested before.

As far as comparing this to the US that is a generalized statement that is prone to inaccurate representation. Try comparing this with our US border wars where there are actual hostilities instead of Anytown, USA. Things get pretty nasty down there on the border and people are dieing. The US already closed down Friendship Park if some lame protest showed up that they had to disperse with tear gas some lefty would be whining and blaming the police instead of accepting responsibility for himself for putting himself in that dangerous situation to begin with.

I wouldn't doubt this story for a second. IDF soldiers despise journalists from other countries. They think its hypocritical that these activists never show up to protest against Hamas in the west bank or against suicide bombing in general.
