How do you feel about the brutal attack on Tristan Anderson? |
He's participated in many demonstrations in the U.S. without any injury whatsoever. He is probably incapacitated for life. Could this have happened in a democracy? or is this something we've learned to associate with police states? |

My heart goes out to his family. I think ISM is doing a great job but there are going to be casualties. For all practical purposes the Government of Israel is at war with the entire world community of human rights activists.
For those unfamiliar with the case, which just occurred last weekend, just put his name on google and you'll bring up various press accounts. There was a media blackout - or "brown-out" - in the U.S. where only California newspapers gave it much coverage and only because he's from there. U.S. papers don't like to publish anything that might cast Zionism in an unflattering light. |

Sometimes when governments, politicians or legit organizations fail to prevent a series of murders, that's when a plain, simple, giving individual comes into play.
He (Anderson) wanted to join the free spirited people of Gaza to stop the massacre of the Palestinians. Instead he was shot in the head by the jew army forces.
To me all of these peace-guys are our the last hope for a better planet.
These are the guys that do not go around packing some blue steel heat in their pockets, don't use uranium shells to make a statement but most of all they are the true Christian Apostles that they don't care if the next guy is Muslim or Hindu or even a jew if a life would be saved by their presence.
The fascists want the "policeman" to take care of things.
Well there are many cases in which the police is part of the problem.
That was not a car jacking or armed robbery assault JD, that was a fight between Good and Evil.
Let's hope that kid will recover soon. That's all I can say right now.
The jews around here, well the all already know how I feel about them so there's no need of repeating myself like a broken record.
I honestly don't like their doings.

Thank God that the thinking average reader does not trust the information from those Jewish Media controlled news papers and news stations.
We get our input from the internet and that's why nothing stays hidden under the sun.
That's were the "Protocols of the 70 Zion Elders" failed to come true.
I am afraid that "israel" have managed to be one of the most brutal, backward thinking and nazi-like places of our planet.
"Thinking" is forbidden on this horrible part of the world.
The jews need mindless zombies in order to exterminate all legal inhabitants that were living on that very same soil for more than 2000 years. They try to "sell" to us the Old testament "chosen" nonsense scream but unfortunatelly for them there is the "New testament" that nullifies the childish fairy tales of the Old one.
They just cannot realize that under these conditions any country cannot function within our society's rules.
From Sports to cultural events, these people are personae non gratae abroad.
The vast majority of their army personnel have warrants for war crimes and cannot enter any other country, even as tourist visitors.
They call the UN and all Peace Organizations "idiots" but the only thing they miss to do is to have a look of themselves in the mirror.
Trust me on this: In a very short period of time the "anti-semitism" expression would be considered a flattery, not an insult. |

Add to this other ISM activists killed or injured by Israeli forces: Rachel Corrie, killed by a bulldozer in March 16th, 2003; Brian Avery, shot in the face in April 2003; and Tom Hurndall, shot to death in 2004.
As usual, the Israeli answer, they were in the wrong place at the wrong time and then the Israelis brand them terrorists or terrorist sympathizers when no proof exists. These are examples of what the IDF considers civilized security measures.Yes, even in the US, it has happened, that does NOT make the IDF action, as in the US, OK. In the US, some of the activists became violent. This was NOT the case with those above.
If a cop, point blank, picked you out of a crowd, and, you were peacefully protesting, fatally shoots you in the head, cop or no cop, the cop would be tried for MURDER-in Isarel- they brand you(the helpless victim) as a terrorist/terrorist sympathizer, and, sorry, that person was in the wrong place and wrong time, and deserved what happened-yeah, right -Hitler said, and, did exactly that to the Jews-its called the Holocaust or maybe the rape victim was at the wrong place at the wrong time-that line of reasoning wouldn't wash in any court-well, maybe in Israel.
Better yet, why listen to me, hear what these very human JEWISH soldiers are saying about the IDF-I praise them for being honest human beings-the Israelis will call them traitors:

EDIT: Zangwill I applaud you-this has little to do with Jew-Arab, but more with right and wrong. I will never ever codone what Hitler had done to the Jews as I will not stand by and let Israel do what it is doing to the Palestinians and protesters. |

There is hardly a decent, right minded, Jewish man or women that supports the Gangster State of Israel and its Fascist treatment of peaceful legal demonstrators.
Tristan Anderson like Rachel Corrie before him are more shocking victims of Israel. A state which defies all democratic and civilised standards.
A state without conscience that even lies to its own citizens and spends a huge amount of the USA taxpayers handouts on Goebbels’ inspired propaganda. Just see the reference below from another appalled and independent decent Jewish commentator on how the Israelis propaganda machine "Hasbara" are trying to spin the IDF's criminal behaviour.
Thank God for good people of conscience and great heroism like Tristan Anderson.

People should know what is being discussed before responding. Dandyl,he isn't dead,he's badly wounded. Speaking as a Jew I find the matter abhorrent and I am genuinely shocked that the Jews on this forum would condone it. People have a right to demonstrate and by any standard firing an RFG-style tear gas cannister at close range with a high-powered rifle into someone's head is a deliberate attempt to commit murder.
I simply cannot believe or accept the mentality of the Jews on this forum. Have you people taken leave of your senses? You would condone or defend virtually anything - and I do mean anything - the Israeli government does. I have values and I stick to them; my best friend could be in the wrong but if he's in the wrong it doesn't matter to me that he's my best friend,I'm still not going to support him. I beginning to think all this super-gung-ho proto-Zionism on this forum is just the morally blind following the morally blind. |

Nothing like this has happened in the U.S. since Kent State in 1970 and that triggered off a national scandal that took three years to abate. This is the third time they have injured an ISM activist to the point of permanent disability. Apparently they do not wish to provide us with any more martyrs than Rachel Corrie. It happened in fascist state, yes. I would say so. People have a right to assemble and to demonstrate in any free and civilized nation. |

Eggs, rocks, broken bottles, teargas grenades, pipe bombs, homemade rockets--if this is how they "protest" in Scandinavia, how would they do it in the many Arab "Israeli" enclaves in Israel?
Whatever he was in the middle of was an extremely violent and chaotic scene, with riot police under virulent attack by protesters and struggling to maintain order.
An officer fired a teargas grenade, it stayed in the canister, and it hit him in the head. It was obviously not intentional.
This is a teargas canister.
http://blog.cleveland.com/world_impact/2008/12/large_Tear-Gas-Dec28-08-MIDEAST_ISRAEL_Meye.jpg
It does not have the precision of a bullet. It's like a flair gun. It's obviously not designed to be aimed at anything. It's designed to be shot in the air and to create a film of gas. It's a nonlethal weapon for riot control.
"Could this have happened in a democracy?"
Believe it or not, everywhere in the world there are violent demonstrations and people die. Especially in the conditions in which Muslims "protest." Sometimes they're killed by misfire from riot police. Sometimes they're trampled to death by other protesters.

At least 5 protesters died in the Muhammad cartoon riots.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/2501893.stm
In Nigeria Muslims went berserk after a journalist suggested that if Muhammad were alive, he might have chosen the winner of a Nigerian beauty pageant as a wife. At least 100 people were killed.
A Brazilian man was falsely suspected of being a runaway terrorist and shot and killed in the UK.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4712061.stm
A 15-year-old Greek child was shot and killed amidst riots in Greece. The Greek policeman had meant it as a warning shot but misfired in the violence.
There are literally hundreds of stories like this. All you need is some liberal who will tell us the IDF "murdered" Rachel Corrin when she was crushed to death by a massive caterpillar D9 bulldozer demolishing a house used by militants, with a high seat and a double glazed window to protect from gunfire, after the bulldozer turned several times to avoid her, in the commotion of hundreds of other protesters.
I might as well stand on a highway and call it murder when a truck runs over me. |

To answer you, there was no brutal attack on anyone, what happened to Tristan Anderson was an accident. No matter how you turn the question, Tristan Anderson death is a tragedy....But Andersons death is no more tragic than the deaths of other young people — some of them young Americans who had traveled to Israel — who died in bombings committed by Palestinian terrorists. They're also worth remembering this day. However you feel about Andersons actions, whether he was a martyr or misguided, he at least made a choice. Palestinian terrorists didn't give the young people killed in their bombings any choice in their deaths. That, it seems to us, is another kind of tragedy for these young Americans and their families.” The State Department warned Americans not to travel to Gaza,or the West bank and Israel made clear that civilians who enter areas where troops are engaged in counter-terror operations put themselves unnecessarily at risk. The death of an innocent civilian is always tragic, and the best way to avoid such tragedies in the future is, first and foremost, by the Palestinian Authorityand Hamas putting an end to violence, and stopping the smuggling operations that have brought huge quantities of illegal weapons into the Gaza Strip. Activists interested in peace should be protesting the Palestinian actions. Activists also have every right to express their views about Israel’s policies, but they should take care to avoid the appearance of siding with the terrorists or placing themselves in positions where they could be inadvertently caught in the crossfire of a counter-terror operation or otherwise endangered by entering an area where military operations are being conducted. |

Correction - During a peaceful protest from Latino's in Los Angeles the LAPD attacked these protestors much like the IDF. So, the US is also an example of police brutality amongst peaceful protests from minorities.
"After nearly two hours of peaceful protest, dozens of LAPD police in full riot gear instigated a wave of unprovoked violence on the progressive crowd. They pushed protestors, jabbed them with batons and wrestled several people to the ground while beating them brutally without any cause or concern."
"The cops were attacking so wildly that even an elderly woman getting of a Metro bus was clubbed for being too close to the protest."
http://www.answerla.org/pic/2006/06-07-08-minute/statement.htm
There is much more in the article but I remember this on television. Whoever said that the this "would never happen in the US" is a fool because hate crimes at the hands of our police officers is a ongoing criminal activity.
Try looking to see protests in Palestine, or are there any because that would be a scene of utter brutality at the hands of Hamas. Put things in perspective here, while I do not agree with the handling of some situations in Israel, there are far worse crimes going on in your own backyard and elsewhere in the Middle East.
The asker didn't delete me and I'm a Jew! I don't support Israel through and through at all. I haven't even been to Israel and I do not know any extreme Zionists either. Believe it or not, Zionism has been taken out of context by people who consider all Zionists to be extreme in their beliefs. Most Zionists believe in a coexisting state in Israel but the right for Jews to live in that state as well.
MODERATOR -
You are an ignorant fool. You stated that, "They try to "sell" to us the Old testament "chosen" nonsense scream but unfortunatelly for them there is the "New testament" that nullifies the childish fairy tales of the Old one." First, please refer to the "old testement" as the Torah and second of all, Jews do not enforce their religion on Christians and the majority think that Christians believe what they want as Jews believe in the Torah. So, it really doesn't matter as to what you think about the Jewish religion, except you should respect it as we respect yours.
You are so misinformed about the majority of the IDF having committed war crimes because I hate to break it to you but every Israeli must join the army, women and men. What do you call the Palestinian leaders who could care less about their people, putting them in the line of fire and never helping their situations in Gaza? Israel is tiny and Israelis have time and again tried to go through with peace agreements only to be screwed over by their generosity. While the new government in Israel has acted in a far different way then prior leaders, what are they supposed to do? Give up and let themselves get bombed at all times. The US would never allow that if Mexico was bombing us or Canada. Put things in perspective and don't group all Israelis into this "Zionist craziness" you speak of because there aren't many extreme Zionist in comparison, think of them like the KKK, which sound like you should join. As Israel is the only democracy we see in the region, how is that backwards? I think forcing women to stay home and not work is a tiny bit more backwards just to name one of the many atrocities forced on people in middle eastern countries such as Iran, Saudi Arabia and Palestine. The last thing I will say is that you are a bigot clearly as well as the most ignorant person, which isn't too hard to find on Yahoo Answers. You make me sick and now I'll stop because I respect your religion yet not your thoughts as a human being. |

It makes me wonder why they even let these people into the country if they are going to get in the way and act like that. It was a military zone and it wasn't an attack, it was an accident with a tear gas cannister. This particular person is a member of ISM who has a record of causing a ruckus with people really getting themselves in dangerous situations and Tristan has been arrested before.
As far as comparing this to the US that is a generalized statement that is prone to inaccurate representation. Try comparing this with our US border wars where there are actual hostilities instead of Anytown, USA. Things get pretty nasty down there on the border and people are dieing. The US already closed down Friendship Park if some lame protest showed up that they had to disperse with tear gas some lefty would be whining and blaming the police instead of accepting responsibility for himself for putting himself in that dangerous situation to begin with.
