Unfortunately in the middle east and in other places if a woman lacks a hymen it means that she is not a virgin, this is untrue because the hymen can be broken through vigorous exersize, cycling, horse back riding and other things (sorry if anyone got offended but this is simple biology). Therefore some girls are obliged to restore it merely because they're scared of the stir it would cause. No offense but I find it to be pointless, whether the Hymen is there or not it does not make a difference and that does not change who the woman is or how honorable she is.

It is just wrong and degrading! Its not about being unfair to the womenw ho wait for marriage *coz they will be rewarded by God* but its about being plain nasty and wrong!! Society shouldnt even care about the hymen to prove virginity.. its more than just a piece of forskin! So by restoring it those women are putting much attention to that stupid skin and it shouldnt work like that! I dont agree with this whole issue at all! And yes it is illegal!

Yes hymen restoration happens but I don't know any statistics about it, and yes it is legal in Egypt.

My thoughts are, if marriage become easier we won't find much to talk about.

And about legalizing it or not, I think it won't make much difference, as many girls will do it any way like what happens with abortion.

and about it's ethics and morals, we are living in a hard time, things are not the same any more, and in Egypt I don't know when girls will have the courage to tell her fiancé that she is not a virgin, but when this happens I hope that I won't be living on this earth, not because I want to marry a virgin, but because I don't believe in premarital sex, and I'd prefer to marry a divorced or a widowed woman over marrying a fake virgin.

and if you want to ask me what would I do if my fiancée told me this before marriage or if I discovered after marriage, I have no idea, I keep asking myself this question when the subject is opened, forgive, or not forgive, forgive, or not forgive..................etc. lol

I didn't find anything about whether it's legal or not in Egypt I just found a debate about the statement of some azhar scholars who approved it, and I don't think that the government would bother to make any legislation for this issue.
Anyway I don't think that any law or fatwa is going to change what's happening now.

The fact is that not all virgins bleed when they first have sex. I did not bleed nor did someone i work with.
and not all Muslim men want to marry only a virgin. How many of them marry UK and USA divorced or widowed citizens and are very happy?
If a man can't accept a woman for who she is then they will not be happy together if she has always to put on an act.

Sure, I heard about it , most of the Dr whom do it , they do it illegaly.
It is cheating before even marriage, but you know what I believe the same birds falling on forms.
So do not think about it will be fair for the other Girls or not because, I won´t be happy for my sister to have a guy he was F****** around , then come to marry my sisiter , 100% sure he will go to the same girl from his kind.

The reason it exists is for two reasons:

a) because women who have comitted sexual intercourse before marriage realize what they've lost and want to gain the 'specialness' back again... funny considering that the specialness is the psychological and emotional aspect of the first time, and has much less to do with the actual physical aspect of the hymen tearing

b) but then could we also look at the other side of this issue? the men who "get away" with sex before marriage because there's no physical evidence of it, but then expect thier wives to be pure and wholesome virgins?

also the ignorance in some countries that there are women born without hymens, and the hymen can be lost due to non-seuxal physical activity.

Much more important has been placed on the hymen then the actual 'purity', which in my humble opinion is absolutely ridiculous. it's heartbreaking that some women are getting this procedure done sometimes in horrible conditions in third world countries because some even fear death if they don't have a peice of skin intact.

Yes, sexual purity is very important but this is ridiculous.

Sometimse the tissue doesn’t separate at all, which is one abnormality that must be corrected before puberty to allow menstrual flow, other times it separates completely, which is also less common but does occur in about .02% of females. There are three most common types of hymen: the posterior rim (almost looks like a crescent), circumferential (ring) and cribriform (has several tiny holes in it, this one being known to sometimes tearing even just due to the weight menstrual flow, if it makes it that far, let alone any kind of strenuous activity).

It is wrong and it is cheating, but it is also an expected and rightful result of the Eastern mentality.
I assure you that some women do not bleed when they have intercourse for the first time, and I assure you some of these innocent women were wrongly accused of not being virgins.
I also assure you that as long as some men think they have the right to have sexual relations outside marriage just because they have nothing physical to lose, some women will remain to convince themselves that they can have the same excuse as long as they keep their physical aspect in tact, somehow!.

I think it's a total right for a woman to have her virginity restored anytime she wants.....
even if she has been playing around maybe she has decided to be honest and start a new start no one should ever deny her that right... or maybe a woman wanna have it done as a gift to her husband to feel like newly weds again it's soemthing very personal and it's a right to anyone....

I think it's funny. Because Egyptian men only want to marry virgins, even if the guy was sleeping with a different prostitute everyday, he still demands a virgin for marriage.

At the same time it shows how messed up the whole culture is that women resort to that. But the women who do it are lieing to there husbands, so the marriage already starts on a lie.

maybe 2 years ago I seen on tv a Kuwaiti woman(her face blocked out and her voice changed) went to a Brazilian doctor to have her hymen restored as she was getting married in a year.

i know in the UK they do it on the NHS??? which is payed by me a tax payer. so ill be protestng against this. if they behave like loose women then their husbands should know.

yeah what tehy do is becuase the hymen is not completely torn and removed untill child birth, they sew the left over hymen together only leaving a small gap as it was before... and if its after child birth they remove lining from inside the uterus or vagina not sure... and they attach it to make new hymen. its gross!!!!
may allah punish these haram women. they should be honest with husband, fiance... and if he says he no longer wishs to marry you then thats up to him and not upto you... so they shouldnt lie. aisan girls do it alot here in teh UK... they have ex up until they are meant to marry their arranged husband from back home then they have the op.
