I think I'm kinda lost.

Ed D, you saying that and realizing that you could and should be better is proof that you can't really be as bad as you think you are, because you care enough to want to change. Wanting to be better is one of the most noble and important traits a person could have, and it's not one that is often found. If you were what you said you were, you wouldn't care, and obviously you do because you feel like this about yourself.
