How is that Jews are denying the Armenian Genocide?

It is a very shameful act of the Israeli government and some group of Jews living in the USA to deny the Armenian Genocide, by saying that never happened, when 1,500,000 millions been massacred and killed the rest exiled from their home land, by the hand of Turks, it is a very sad to hear from Jewish people victims of there own to a similar tragedies by the Nazi's, all of Europe's have documentations and evidence of the occurrence of the genocide of 1915 that was the first genocide of 20Th century, in Europe it is a crime to deny the Armenian Genocide, punishable with a jail sentence, still Israel denies, plus to that, is helping Turkey to cover up, how can you justify this type of act from a similar victim's, similar tragedy.

Well, how Jews feel when the black-minded president of Iran (Ahmadinejad) denies the Holocaust?!
Jews became a victim of inhumanity and racism during WW2 and the same was happened for Armenians during WW1.
Don't Jews understand the meaning of genocide? Of course they do and I'm sure they feel how painful it is, because they have experienced that horrible genocide in their history.
As much as I know, its the Israeli government denying Armenian Genocide of 1915-23 and not the whole Jews.
Israel is an ally of Turkey, Turkey is best friend of Israel in the region, is a Muslim country and plays important role for Israel. The reason Israeli government denies Armenian Genocide is all political.
But it's not fair, because it has also happened to them.

Proud Grandma
I have never denied that. It is awful what happened to the Armenians.

I don't know of any Jews that are denying the Armenian massacre - those who are have done a shameful thing. Do you have a weblink or something show this being done?

Update - none of the sources I have seen citing Israeli government officials or Jewish sources denying what happened to Armenians - they have said it was not similar to the Nazi Holocaust and that is correct. That doesn't mean that one to two million dead Armenians is not an awful thing and it does not mean Israel or Jews deny it.

BTW - the person who said the US and Turkey were stuanch allies since 1923 are very wrong - the US had no alliance wit Turkey - and Turkey did not form a formal alliance of any kind until near the end of WW2 and Turkeys involvement in NATO did not occur until 1952 (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkey-United_States_relations ). This idea that US and Turkey have had an alliance since the end of the Ottoman Empire and the birth of the Turkish Republic is a myth as are many of things I read on the website that was cited. The internet is full of many lies - don't be a dope and believe them.

Dr. Beemer
The reason that Israel is very important to accept the killings of Armenians as genocide is because they are too victims of genocide themselves. And any genocide is to be condemned, and prevented for our future generations.

Secretly Jewish organizations in USA are blocking Armenian Genocide resolution consistently. They are milking out Turkey in millions of dollars. USA and Israel are allies with Turkey, in a way they dont want to hurt Turkey, but Turkey is playing the same game with USA and Israel, they ALL playing double standards.

But time has come for Turkey, no more hiding and seek. I personally have many Jewish friends. I deal with them on daily basis. They understand our situation better than anyone. But the government is only looking for its own interest, geographically, and politically.

I don't know if there are people who are denying Armenian Genocide (Jews and non Jews) but a person who can say it didn't happen is ignorant and stupid

Valery
it is the Zionist jews who denies Armenian genocide they think everything evolves around them and their problem, which is selfish but they always have been.

Interesting question..perhaps we can all write Congresswoman Harman an angry email. She is also a Jewish politician trying to block the passage of the Armenian Genocide resolution.. Why you ask... Damned if I knew!!!

http://capwiz.com/anca/issues/alert/?alertid=10384961&type=cu

Edit: Whats wrong with those 3 people below me? Have you people been paying attention??? This is just a small list of the Jewish groups who would like to kill the Armenian genocide resolution and are thus supporting turkey:

-B'nai B'rith International
-the Anti-Defamation League
- the American Jewish Committee
-the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA)

Yes, the ADL did say the Armenian killings were "tantamount to genocide", but only after national pressure...but they still don't support the resolution..so it doesnt really count.

As someone who is not well informed on the details of the situation that happened 80-90 years ago and thus cannot comment on that directly, nevertheless, it seems to me that your focus on Jews and Israel seems to be unwarranted. The issue is primarily between Turkey and the Armenians today. Israel and Jews in general bear no responsibility for it.
If you mean that Israel should be involved in criticizing Turkey for what happened, you may have a point. Yet, that could be applied to dozens of other countries that also have some ties to Turkey. Singling out Israel here seems a bit unfair.

I don’t know that it is true, that there are Jews who deny the Holocaust against Armenians, but it is possible.

I have seen Jews committed to the zionist regime in Israel do many things that can be considered wrong because they think it helps Israel. Heck, zionism ITSELF is contrary to the interests of Jews worldwide. It does us no good to deny that people exist (like the people who say "there are no Palestinians"). It does us no good to have a large minority of our population confined in a tiny land, beholden to the U.S. and Europe, in the midst of people being oppressed by leaders supported by the U.S. and Europe and who hate us. It does us no good to be led by modern-day Judenrat (the Jewish councils that administered the ghettos for the Nazis). Check out Lenni Brenner’s book "Zionism in the Age of the Dictators" for documentation on zionists selling out Jews to the Nazis.

The overwhelming majority of Jews in the world are secular not religious, and a majority are Russian, American, British, French… citizens of big powers, advanced countries, and not at all at home in a backward, religious-based apartheid regime in a tiny country stuck in the Middle East. That’s why the majority of Jews don’t live in Israel.

My point is, narrow nationalism leads people to foolish actions. If there are Jews who deny the Armenian Holocaust, I’d bet the rent that support for Israel has something to do with it. Are Israel and Turkey allies?

Why haven't you, as Michela suggests, provide some evidence that 'Jews' are denying this happened?

WE are not denying it. The sad question is why the Turkish government is denying it. The answer is obvious but it is disgusting that Turkey refuses to own up to the atrocities of its past.

It is very shameful that there are SOME Christians, Jews, and Muslims that deny it too... but responsibility here rests with Turkey. Stop being an anti-semite and singling us out when we really are not involved. Thanks.

Have a read of what one Jewish Doctor has to say about these matters and I quote;-

"JACQUES E. BOTTON, M.D.
* House Committee on Foreign Affairs
Tom Lantos, Chairman
2170 Rayburn House Office Building
Washington, DC 20515

Dear Chairman Lantos,

I am writing you this urgent letter to prevent if at all possible a tragic error in the upcoming vote on H.Res.106, "Affirmation of the United States Record on the Armenian Genocide Resolution."

Allow me to introduce my self: I am a retired neurosurgeon having practiced in Lynchburg, VA from 1961 to 1994. I became a US citizen in 1963. I was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1929 as a Jewish citizen. I grew up in an environment which included citizens of Greek, Armenian, Jewish and Moslem backgrounds and enjoying a friendly harmony. I graduated from the elite Galatasaray High School with honors before obtaining my medical degree in Geneva, Switzerland in 1955. I later received my neurosurgical training at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond as well as in Stockholm, Sweden, before moving to Lynchburg.

During my years in Istanbul the difficulties experienced by all around WW I were well known with Turkey struggling for its survival in a war against the major world powers in an unfortunate alliance with Germany. During the same years the Armenian citizens encouraged by Russia, England and France organized revolutionary groups - Hunchak, Tashnak..- which undertook what should be termed as a civil war against the Ottoman Empire with the hopes of establishing an Armenian state extending into a large part of the Turkish territories in the East. England, desperate to engage the USA under a very religious President Woodrow Wilson propagated thru an intensive process of disinformation the presumed facts that the Christian Armenians were being exiled south from the border against Russia and being killed in the process by the Moslem State.. There were tragic killings on both sides either by military activities but also from diseases and starvation. Later on the word genocide was applied by Armenians particularly in their Diaspora in Europe and in the US with an ever increasing number of deaths mentioned from year to year, well above the original Armenian population then in existence. No mention of the close to three million Moslem deaths resulting from this civil war as well WW I. Armenians had been rather well treated in the Ottoman Empire along with Greeks and Jews, serving in various professions as well as in Government. Armenians were in the latter capacity during those same years.. In not a too distant past the Arnenian terrorist group ASALA has also managed to kill dozens of Turkish Diplomats and their families in the US and in Europe.

My mother remembered the bombing of the Ottoman Bank in Istanbul by Armenian terrorists resulting in riots and counter actions by the State and ordinary citizens. Jews were and still are grateful for their rescue by Sultan Beyazit from the Spanish Inquisition late in the 15th Century and later during WW 2 by the Turkish Republic from the German killing fields across Europe. Along with the Nazis a volunteer Armenian group helped the transportation of Jews to the concentration camps..

Unfortunately Turkey has been too apathetic towards the accusations filled with increasing hatred and what I would call the Greatest Lie of the 20th century propagated by a rich Armenian lobby in Europe and the US. Only in recent years a better educated and involved Turkish generation has begun to try to counteract these lies and to some extent attempt to improve the bad press Turkey has suffered as a result of these allegations which expect the recognition of this so-called genocide, to be followed by monetary and territorial demands..

For most of its existence since 1923 the Turkish Republic has been a staunch friend of the US, as a member of NATO, during the Korean War, recently in the events in the Balkans and Afghanistan while allowing bases to the US in its territory. It was the first Moslem state to recognize Israel in 1949 with which it has been a reliable ally.

I do not think the passage of HR 106 would be in the US interests in many ways, in today's political situation in the Middle East and elsewhere but even more importantly the moral loss for the US by abiding to long standing misinformation. These allegations have NEVER been brought to a judicial venue such as the International Court of Justice. This was refused by the Armenians as being according to them a self evident fact.. I resent the attempts to compare these terrible events in the early 20th century to the Holocaust: Jews were killed systematically just for being Jews and certainly not for acts of treason, terrorism or territorial demands.

Forgive me for this lengthy letter. I hope you will consider it and vote against HR 106.

Most respectfully,

Dr J.E.Botton, FACS
Lynchburg, VA 24503"

generalize much?
4 jewish groups opposed the measure, not because they think the armenian genocide did not take place, but because they think it should be resolved between the turks and armenians.
in the same article, it clearly says that other jewish groups are not opposed to the measure, and that no one is denying the events took place.
i also don't see anything about an official israeli government position on the matter.

so please be more careful, you wouldn't want anyone thinking you were lying on purpose just to drum up anti-semitism.

I don't know anything really about the Armenian genocide, just that the Armenians claim they were massacred by the Turks and the Turks deny it. I have heard a couple Armenians say there was no genocide, but I don't know any more than that. I don't think any Jewish group or Israel categorically denies the Armenian genocide, but if you bring some examples I'd be interested to see them.

i dont believe on our history books anymore .... i dont know who was a bad guy ?

I acknowledge the Armenian Genocide by the Turks. However, on a general note, I care only for Jews. No one showed us compassion, why should we show anything in return?
