I am South African………… I tasted both urban and rural lives in SA. I the studied in SA and England……… so I had my share of not being at home (partly through no choice of mine or my family) ………but remained truly South African……. I am not active here, I’m hooked………My other half is sleeping so, I stole this moment to satisfy my addiction……hope she won’t see this!!!!
And what about you? |

Was born and grew up in SA. Studied and started to work there. Then BEE came along and things changed dramatically. For the last twelve years I have been traveling the planet. As my dream of a career and family in SA didn't came to be, I have settled on my second option for a life. That is to visit and possibly work in as many countries as I can, before I croak.
I became a modern nomad. |

Born and bred in South Africa with no plans of moving anywhere else although I must admit that I wish I could afford to move somewhere safer for my grandchildren's sake. |

I was born in Mozambique just before the civil war started. All my childhood memories are in South Africa. If I am allowed to build a future for myself I will stay here. Currently surviving in Johannesburg. |

Hi Jaco W, I,m still active on this site although it seems that I,ve slipped up for a time and lost my TC badge! Nonetheless, I was born in Jhb, lived in Zimbabwe for a while when things were still good and am now working/studying in NZ. Most of my family is still living in Sandton/Midrand and two brothers are living in Dubai. Unfortunately, I could not continue my career back in SA so I would either have to choose something else, move to Dubai or stay in NZ and become an All Black! What do you recommend? LOL. |

I was born in South Africa, in the Boland. Like Ge Korsten sings, "My hart verlang na die Boland ... waar reuse kranse en klowe ..."
My husband is German, and we have been moving between the two continents since we married more than 30 years ago. Mostly it was because we could not decide where to live. When one knows two good places, then one tends to want the best from both worlds. When my husband's grandparents died, we moved back to SA, only to be depressed and bankrupted by crime, the new labour laws and the downward spiral of the economy which gave us 25% interest on our bond.
I would dearly love to move back to SA to be with my brother and sister, sunshine and mountains. The SA people are so open and friendly, something that the Germans are not capable of. Unless we win in the lottery or some unknown rich relative leaves me a fortune, I am destined to spend the rest of my life in this country. |

Yes, I'm South African, born in Nelspruit, currently living in Pretoria. There is a small chance that I am moving to Germany next year though. That would purely be a career move, not because I want to leave SA. I will come back, I love my country! |

am not born nor bred South African but i visit this site often bcuz i've met one from PE and hopefully someday he brings me in SA for a visit. I oftentimes wonder why there is such political chaos cuz when i look at the catalouges/travel brochures....SA is so beautiful, the sceneries kills me and not to mention the wild life which i have always dream to see as a child... how can't there be peace?
Just the same,if luck permits- i'd like to have a tour of SA. Cheers!! |

Lol Honey I I am now living in the UK,but I knew when I got married 20 years ago one day it will come to the move,my hubby is Irish, but he also love South Africa,we had no opstion 15 years ago but came back to the uK,but we try and go back to South Africa as much as we can,we started a South African Shop and we are working hard to make it work, dont let people tell you it's easy cause it's not,we work hard for everything in this life things dont come easy.
So if your are prepared to work you will benifit.
When ever I go home to SA it's like coming home the friendliness and all that welcome that you don't get in Europe I love going home

I live in the USA but LOVE Africa!
I have visited Rwanda 2 years ago to see the gorilla's and am going to Nairobi and Uganda next month to see the gorilla's in the wild.
I have a 3 year old Capuchin monkey and if I could find a way to get him into Africa I would move there.

Hi all.. I'm South African living in New Zealand now for the past 7 years. Born in good old Durban! SA is a beautiful place to live, miss our gorgeous coast line. Moved here coz my sister had immigrated here and told us all about the place. Its amazing, its like a little SA right here in the Pacific as there are so many SAfricans from all over the place. Went to visit in '03 but I honestly don't think I can live there permanently as life here has made me so mellow and you have to be STREET SMART there. I'm due for a visit soon though coz even though I don't think I could ever live there, I still love the place ie food, music, landscape... |

born and bred in South Africa, East Rand..old St Dominic's convent Boksburg gal! Living with my family in the land of the leprechauns..people are very very very friendly here, no crime in the country, streets are clean and I simply love it..BUT I MISS MY COUNTRY TOO!! The sunshine, the highveld rains, Jeremy Mansfield on Raw..and I think I had better stop now as I am becoming very very homesick! Such a pity about the crime!! I do watch the SA channel though.. |

Born and raised in the Karoo. Still live here after 40 years.
I wish people would stop giving the impression that the entire country is overrun with murderers. There are lots of places in SA that are as safe as New Zealand - or even more so - just get out of Gauteng! |
