How many of you would emigrate from SA if it weren't for having to leave family behind?

Any other constraints keeping you here?

if i could take my mom with me, my hubby and i would have left long ago.

it is difficult raising two kids in this country, not knowing when they might get raped or kidnapped. not knowing if they would have a working future in this country. it is hard for any parent.

my mom does hold me back, because i do not want to leave her alone her, sure she does have two other kids but they don't really visit her and if it wasn't for me and my hubby she would be totally alone. she loves her grand kids and live for them. i can't take them away from her. not yet.

i love this country but i don't think there is any future for our kids here

I would. I'm sorry to all if it sounds like I'm not being patriotic but what kind of future do I have in this beautiful country of ours? This is my last year in high school, what guarantee do I have about my future? This strike is proving that I have no future in this country. If the government can do this to millions of its employees, what else could happen?

Good Q. If it were not for my family, I believe I would leave -purely for crime reasons. Sort out the crime and we can live with the rest - it is Africa after all. Sort out the crime and the rest will move back in their droves.

General Proud
i sit in the fortunate position that most of my family will be emigrating as well by the end of the year.

I'm moving to Taiwan in the new year, I would have been there already, but I have to finish my degree first. It's not a permanent move though, I like living in South Africa, and will return after about 3 years, I just want to experience other cultures and ways of living first.

I would emigrate if it weren't for having to leave my sisters, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends etc. behind.

If I were alone, no one, no family, no strings attached or baggage.

I would tour the World in 80 days - but immigrate, leave this sunshine here - NoWay!

I dont have that many family so that wouldnt be a problem. But not sure I would just leave this lovely country. If me and my partner one day decide to start a family and dont want to raise our children in an unsafe country then maybe will consider it.My sister and her husband just decided that.

cakes4africa
I left already, with half my family. The other half is welcome to join me anytime.

With the government change and the political situation as it is presently. . .thank God I am long gone. Packed some bags, said bye to family and friends. . .that was thirty nine years ago, never to return again!
I have now visited seventy seven(77) countries and done four circles of the globe as an independent traveler.

You know what I really miss most? The summer time smell of pine needles around the Cape and the taste of Hannepoot grapes. You can keep your ANC Communist inspired government and its crude form of land reform practiced by intimidation.

To answer your question: Most people of European descent will leave if it was not for age and family constraints. The brightest minds are already gone. . .not including me, I am an adventurer who seeks out the limits.
Hou die blink kant bo and let the legend live on. . .

london.oval
very good question - the only reason I consider returning is because of my family. i I could persuade them to leave I would be gone.

L.R
after school Im going to leave to find work but I'll surely return, to visit my family
