the only way is too close your Yahoo account. Your email associated with this one. Otherwise if you do not enter for 3 months then it will delete......you could change your frineds to another account....but in the end you could also join YA again....Maybe self control is the only way....I also have the same concerns...Cheers!

Hey Salah we will miss you .You have been a great contributor and valued member of our family
Don't shut your account down just leave it. Maybe you will feel like dropping by to see what we are up to now and then.
But I know what you mean I now restrict myself to only using Yahoo Q&As when I am waiting for my husband to come home from work late at night or as a break from long hours of study and research.
But like you, I am going to be scarce for a while as my dissertation is due and I need to pass to get my masters degree so I can keep my scholarship that enables me to work in Egypt.
If you do go ahead and close your account then may I just say what a real pleasure it has been to have such a gentleman here in "our family" and may Allah swt always be with you and watch over you and you family.

addit: I remember someone else wanting to close their account and they found it almost impossible.
As you virtually have to delete all of Yahoo from you computer to get rid of it, including emails etc.

shutting down your account if possible will not help you. you would still have the option of opening a new account. that is very easy. why don't you just ignore ya for a while and see what happens.

Why is it that you either get addicted to Y!A or the Internet as a general; or you leave it altogether?
Why don't you get more control on your time and specialize a particular time period to come and have some time with your brothers and sisters here in Egypt or in any other category you choose?
I think this is the optimum solution.

i agree with u .....i was thinking the same thing ....but later i was ashamed of myself,i thought ''am i that weak to temptation?''..and then i decided not to delete the account but to decrease the time spent on YA!..now i will log on only once or twice a week

ok i know i dont come here much and also perhaps you dont know me....but i have an opinion which is here is a big family you cant just leave it i have no idea how to close your account BUT i have an idea that you can organize your time between your work and family outthere and between your family here....it is also an addiction for me and i am still studying by the way....but it is like that when i finish my homework i come and sometrimes just take a little break here....so dont leave your big family just stay and organize your time that is more fair for your work and your family here :)

you shouldn't do Salah, as they told you just eave for a while & then return back if you are so busy or annoyed I did before & you know that. but there is no reason for shutting your account down.
