That is a easy one. Put him in your yard and then the neigbour will complain about your dog howling the whole night.

This is in Germany, cakes, right? 1. Talk to the neighbour, and if he doesn't react, then 2. Call the police. That is the sort of thing the Germans understand.

You get in trouble in Germany for shooting dogs.

If its past 10 o'clock you can call the cops for noise.
The owners will be sited. I believe they can be sited like 3 times before they are forced to do something about it.
But that would depend on where you live.

Poor dog.Unfortunately most owners do not treat their dogs right.They are not training them to behave properly and this results to utter annoyance for neighbors.Try to speak polite with them first. If you live in USA where noise laws are kinda strict in most states you can call the police.Be careful,do not warn the neighbors about that,you want the police to arrive while the dog is barking.If anything else fails,another more rough solution (that I do not support) is to drug the puppy.Some hypnotizer or relaxer (lexotanil,valium,tavor) in a meatball will do its job by putting the little fella into sleep.

Complain to the owner's first..nicely though and if they dont care then if it continues complain to the city.

I have a dog next door too, who barks a lot at night!
I would throw a shoe, but I'm not an awful person!
I would've bought a dog whistle for our neighbor dog to stop!

But for you! The best way, I know, is to go over and give the attention the dog needs! Or if your a Shy person, go over with a friend or with your parents.

Well, you can either call Animal Control as to maybe offer a wake up call to your neighbor, or you can simply ask your neighbor to keep him inside or give him a toy or something.

Honestly though that would drive me nuts so I applaud you trying to handle it in a classy manner.

Go to the store buy one of those things that makes a really loud noise that only dogs can hear and push the button they hate it and it works.

There are actually these dog silencer devices that you can find in petsmart or petco that actually send a signal back to the dog in an effort to make them be quite!! My dogs are barkers especially my Irish Wolfhound. He houls the minute I get home, it's really embarassing because everyone can hear it! They don't shock them or hurt them or any way. Cost under $100. A little expensive but silence is golden!!

there's really nothing you can do. Get earplugs would be the best solution.
