You know,I hate to diappoint you,but I was treated pretty well.Moreover,I think that 90 out of 100 Palestinians will say the same.
LetÂ´s look the truth in the eyes;under the "cruel Israeli occupation",we lived far better than we are living now.Do you want some statistics?You wonÂ´t like it,but that can not change facts.
In 1967-1980,under the â€œcruel israeli occupationâ€, the GDP of the Palestinians grew by 13% per year.Our earnings per capita grew 10 times.Unemployment fell from 40% in 1967 to 5% in 1980.
Israel built for us 6 Universities(in
1967 there was none) and 20 colleges.The level of
illiteracy fell from 50% in 1967 to 30% in 1980.
Those Jews you are cursing built for us 166 clinics and supplied them with the most
modern medical equipment.Many Arabs got access to the social security.The level of mortality fell 3 times.Israel built the system of canalisation, electricity and water-supplying system which we go on using until now.
This is what Israel did.And what about your country,Unforsaken?How many colleges,universities,hospitals,clinics did Lebanon build in Gaza and West Bank?How maany did Syria build?
ALL the Arab countries-what a shame! did for us less than one tiny Israel.And after that we curse Israel - and praise the leaders of Saudi Arabia ,Iran and Syria.Who are we after that?
Then Israel ceded control over certain parts of Palestine to Arafat.The results became visible pratically immediately.
Under Arafat`s rule:
In 1992-1996 the earnings of the Palestinians on the territories controlled by Arafat fell 35%.Unemployment grew 20% in Gaza and 18% in the West Bank.In 1997 40% of the budget of the PA misterously disappered.In 1994-1997 European Contries donated 1.5 BILLION $ to the economy of Arafat`s controlled part of Palestine.USA donated another 500 million $.Israel gave to
Arafat 90 million$.All in all,Arafat got 2.1 BILLION$ in only 6 years.Where is this money?
All this happened BEFORE the Intifadah,so we can not blame Israel for our misfortunes under ArafatÂ´s rule in this period.
But what happened when Hamas came to power was much worse.Hamas drove the people in Gaza to such a poverty and dispair that one of the most popular jokes in Gaza is:what should be done to get quickly out of the poverty we are living in?
The answer:ask Israel to occupy us again.
You can lose your tongue together with your head for such jokes in Gaza,but the people are so desperate that they are losing fear.

IDF forces butchered 150 civilians during their occupation of the Gaza in 1956-57. Why should the Palestininians be relegated to oppressed peoples in their OWN land. This is akin to asking how Americans were treated before creation of the Freddom fighters will under British rule-the British treated the Americans far better than the Israelies are treating the Palestinians and the British actually RULED over the colonists. The promise is made to Abraham and the descendants of his son Isaac, and Isaac's son Jacob, Abraham's grandson as they are all given promise that their descendants will be given a territory from the river of Egypt to the Euphrates river.No where does it say the Israelis/Jews OWNED the land, nor were they to take it from, and, kill the Palestinians. The Israelis/Jews were given a land ONLY to reside in as many Jews already had among the Palestinians.God clearly states whom the land belongs to-"the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites, Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites." Of all these people, only the Palestinians whom are considered Canaanites, are still around. Except for Iran and Israel, Arabs own all of what was Canaan.

It is Israel whom is illegally occupying the West Bank and Gaza strips, illegally building Jewish ONLY settlements and buffer zones from land stolen from murdered INNOCENT civilian Palestinians using machine guns and tanks.It is not the Palestinians cutting off power,water, food, medicines, and jobs-just HOW would YOU protect yourself from annhilation by occupiers if your government couldn't?Israel has refused the TWO country initiative the US prooses and backed by the whole world- in the Israeli view- the peace process is at a "dead end"- why-because Israel wishes to annex the West Bank and Gaza strips, and either eliminate and/or subjugate the Arab Palestinians to second class sitizens as they have done in Israel.ONCE AGAIN, THESE ARE NOT THEIRS TO DO THIS WITH.

It is a fact not denied by the Israeli government that Shin Bet funneled large sums to both Islamic Jihad and Hamas supposedly in order to direct the attention of Palestinian youth to religion instead of politics. But this is obviously only a cover-story. They need violent groups to justify their atrocities against civilians. Look at the Winter War. Nominal pretext: they are going to root out Hamas. Actual purpose: to liquidate from the air as many Palestinians as possible ideally children and women of child-bearing age. Result: 1,400 people dead. Other result: Hamas still solidly in power,obviously not the real target. Nada is right. So is Zeno. So my answer is simply to express my agreement with their answers.

The same way they were treated since 1948; no effort is spared to drive them out of the Holy Land. Hamas wasn't formed until twenty years later. If anything they were slow to resist. Babble about the Yasser and his always-good-copy/ high-publicity yield PLO ignores the fact that is was an outside group and largely non-Palestinian.

israel started a peace process, gave palestinians civilian control over gaza, allowed yaser arafat (read some of his terrorist action in munich) to come back and become palestinian leader.

these are not actions to be taken lightly! we could have continued the occupation. we could have said that we never forgive Arafat for his crimes against us. but we thought it's the right thing to do and it was done!

what did we get in return? under our occupation we had a terrorist attack now and then but nothing organized. now we have palestinian rocket factories, terrorist camps and more. our hope that their independence will make them have their own country and therefore have something to lose, and an interest to preserve peace.

but we were wrong. palestinians want it all. they dont care for their own people. they call the gaza war a victory. and say that the blood of the babies will be used to ruin israel international status. they have no respect for life or even their own religion by hiding weapons inside mosques. look for hamas speeches in youtube if you dont believe me.

It must also be pointed out that most of the early Arab-Palsetinian terrorist groups were formed BEFORE the 1967 Arab-Israel War... a defensive war Israel fought against the combined armies of Egypt, Syria and Jordan resulting in the so-called Israeli "occupation" of the West Bank (from Jordan), Gaza Strip (from Egypt) and the Golan Heights (from Syria). So unless it makes sense that the PLO and its various splinter terror groups were originally formed to get back territories they already controlled, then obviously, the "occupied land" was then, as it remains today... Although the various Arab/Palsetinian/Islamic terror groups have chosen Israelis as their primary target, ALL freedom-loving people are at risk. Airports, airplanes, buildings, pizza parlors, discoteques, buses, ships, etc. are all "legitimate targets" for these radical terrorist groups. SInce the
signing of the Oslo Accords between Israel and the Palsetinian Authority, at least 22 Americans have been killed.

Before Hamas, there was Arafat who was a popular leader but he was controlled by the leaders of neighboring Arab countries who definitely don't want to see a palestinian state.

This is not true. The help was directed to go AGAINST the PLO. Why? Look at what the PLO did to Jordan and Lebanon. Don't deny that the PLO has been dangerous to Jordan and Lebanon.

Check the UN official reports and you will see how terrible Arabs were treated during 30 years of BRUTAL OCCUPATION.
1. Before occupation Arab population;ation in so called Palestine was decreasing. But during BRUTAL OCCUPATION it started to increase. Sometimes the really bizarre things happened: in 1969 Palestinians fighters went voluntary to Israel jails from Jordan.
2. Water and Electricity. before only 10% had running water and 5% had electricity. After 30 years of BRUTAL OCCUPATION 90% had running water and 85% had electricity.
3. Universities. Before-O ( yes ZERO). After-4.

And finally why Hamas emerged? Because stupid Israelis gave permit to Arafat and his army to enter Palestine. All jobs, power money, christian girls, all went to Arafat bodies.
