Here are a few of my reasons why I love being Jewish, I'm PART OF AN EXTRAORDINARY PEOPLE- a great people with a great history going back more than 3,500 years. Judaism has given the world some of its finest, most basic concepts and institutions for civilization:

* The concept of One God for all the Universe;
* The Ten Commandments - the building blocks of civilization;
* A religion that integrates ETHICAL BEHAVIOR with everyday life AND religious practice;
* The judicial way of thinking with high regard for justice and laws that apply to everyone, based on Torah and developed by our sages through the creation of the Talmud;
* The concept of a seven day week with the seventh day - the Sabbath - for rest.

Wherever Jews have gone in the world, they have brought with them lively religious, cultural and commercial life. The love that the Jewish people have for their religion, culture and beliefs has kept Judaism alive and vibrant for thousands of years despite persecution and oppression throughout our history.

Jews have consistently held that our religious beliefs and practices are so great - so special - so precious and unique - that they are worth dying for. And so we have - unfortunately - had to die over the millenia - simply because we were Jews.

But as a result Judaism LIVES ON! - because our ancestors so valued it that they were willing to give their lives - so that we can know it - practice it - and value it, too!

No other culture has survived for so long without a homeland as Jews have for almost two thousand years, until the homeland of eretz Y’Israel was regained in 1948.

The Jewish People has produced some of the greatest thinkers, scientists, doctors, philosophers, theologians, psychiatrists, merchants, entrepeneurs, inventors, jurists, therapists, writers, artists, actors, singers and song writers, filmmakers - and comedians - the world has known. We’re an extraordinary people that has consistently made an extraordinary contribution to the world - far out of proportion to our numbers - and we're still doing it! - and we can be proud of that. JEWS ARE WONDERFUL PEOPLE. We are very varied, of course - but there are so many kind, caring, compassionate, understanding, creative, smart, sharp-as-a-tack, funny, delightful, brilliant and generous Jews. It's nice to be with Jews!

Our history. Even though some is a bit disturbing. But hey, that's what makes it cool. Also I'm glad that there have been health reasons that are from keeping kosher. Also I'm pretty sure un kosher food contains all the calories. LOL. I remember my sister used resting on shabbat notes written by the rabbi to get out of high school exams on that day.

Good Job, I'm proud of being Arab and Muslim.
And I want everyone else to be proud of what and who they are.
Well, what I love about Jews is their curly hair and money saving talents. (:

Never experienced anti-semitism have you. If you had, you wouldn't think it is so much fun to be Jewish. If you lived among the goyem as I do, you would find that it is a very lonely to be Jewish.

You are certainly not objective because if you were, you would see the terrible things that we have done to innocent children in Gaza and be ashamed that we are Jewish and are part of this atrocity.

If you keep living in your dream world of Judaism, you will be in for a fall sooner rather than later.

I love my own individual relationship with G-d instead of the hypocritical religious groups that permeate our religion and society.

Please wake up and smell the coffee. I'm happy that you think that your Judaism has made you a better person. But you should have been one anyway without using our religion as a crutch.

Edit: You talk about how your family has suffered, what about you? You can't experience anti-semitism vicariously as you are trying to accomplish. I'm happy that you're happy to be Jewish, I am too. But Judaism should not be used as a panecea for your own view of utopia. Believe it or not, your question and edit comes off as racist as regards other religions.

I'm a Syrian Muslim born and living in the US and I just want to say that you are truly a good person for being proud of who you are and your heritage and for having such a positive attitude regardless of what you've gone through.

Kimimela-PRO ISRAEL AND PROUD
ISRAEL and the sense of belonging and community i feel there. And the way that it feels so peacefull and old, despite all the terrible things that are happening to us and it. I love the Galil the best - and the golan heights :)

hebrew- beautifull. From tehillim to rap music - i never get tired of hearing it. Its so expressive and deep.

Lighting shabbat candles. - Even though im not really practising any more that simple gesture has such a power to connect us all. Whether we are orthodox or secular. whether we are lighting them with family - or before we go out for the night... to know that so many jews around the world are saying the same blessing, performing the same act for the same reason is so powerfull.

Jewish names - forget the finkelsteins and the goldbergs.. im talking rivka and rachel and micha'el , and some of the more modern israeli ones like Anat, and Galit ( which i think is beautifull )

I LOVE being Jewish, keeping semi-kosher and the history is AMAZING. SO many events and so much crap we have been blamed for.

THe Holidays are amazing and awesome, I especially like Israel Independence day... and Purim, and Pessah, and ALL OF THEM, being Jewish is great, especially since you have oi Vey, Schmuck, and other fancy words at your disposal.

I love not being Jewish.

Palestine
Being Jewish has nothing to do with Israel. Also, fyi, your family lives 5 minutes away from the bombings...compare Arab bombs to Israeli bombs. That is what my brothers and sister face everyday. It is good to have pride in your religion, I do too, (Arab-Christian) but you are over exaggerating life for the Jews in Israel.

I too love being a Texan. Had I been a Jewish Texan I would be proud.
I'm a Christian though and have an easier route.
I love the Jewish history and all or most of the Jews I've been associated with.
There's lots for the mordern Jew to love about Israel and Judaism today too.
I know God is watching over Israel. His will be done.

Speaking of me, I hated being a ... Jew.
I hated it when people were always talking behind my back, random giggles, comments about my face and skin color, et cetera.
I was very unhappy being a Jew, so I corrected Mother nature.
In both Spiritual and Physical ways.
Shalom!
