I have to give credit to Hamas?

They have managed to kill hundreds of Palestinians (many of the civilians) without a single UN resolution condemning their actions.

Clearly they are killing them in a way that is acceptable to the international community.

Additionally Lebanon manages to shell a Palestinian refugee camp, an innocent refugee camp, and not a single condemnation of war crimes or excessive force.

I guess Lebanon has special mortar shells that only kill their intended targets. After all why else has the world not condemned their actions?

I have to give credit to Hamas,Fatah and Israel...great job all of them. They're like children who really can't put all their toys together and play nicely...Maybe it's time that we actually allow UN to do its job and take care of all of them...Not the way it happened until now:UN votes resolutions against Israel that are totally ignored...So in case UN would actually vote a resolution against Hamas (which as far as I know it's not possible, since they're not a country) why would they respect it?They had from where to learn when it comes to ignoring UN resolutions...
It's really sad that Hamas and Fatah can't reach an agreement, and it's sad that both can't reach an agreement with Israel...

As for the Lebanese army...Unfortunately Palestinian refugees are caught in the middle of the fights between the army and Fatah al Islam (who has absolutely nothing to do with Palestine)...It's not like they are intentionally bombing bridges, airports and factories and killing "by mistake" civilians, like in Beit Hanoun(just an example)...

Actually, the Muslim terrorists in Gaza seem very effective at eliminating one another. In the last 24 hours Arabs have murdered over 50 other Arabs in Gaza.

Their newest tactic is to tie up a fellow Muslim and throw him off a skyscraper.

Perhaps they are doing the work for the West.

The whole "Palestinian People" is made up, just to try to eliminate Israel. The Land of Israel is the biblical home of the Jewish People, and the Jewish People have maintained a presence there continuously.

If you were naive enough to believe what you hear on the news and media, you would think there is an entity called a "Palestinian people," who lived in a "country/state/area" called Palestine since Canaanite/Biblical/Muslim times. You would almost believe that the Israelis occupied "Palestine" in 1967. And you might even think that the Palestinians want the occupiers out of their land. And of course, you might feel, they are entitled to do whatever it takes to get their land back. No? No. Not at all, Here are the facts.

Who are the Palestinians? Palestinians are Arabs. They have no historical, national or cultural identity distinct from other Arabs of the region. Most of them came into Palestine in search of economic opportunities after World War I when the British and the Jews began to build up a land that was moribund.

What is Palestine? When the Romans conquered Judea, they renamed it Palestine. Since then, no occupying power ever made it an independent state or established a capital in Jerusalem. Under the Ottoman Empire, it was part of the province of Syria.

After World War I, the area was mandated to Britain to establish a Jewish national home. Instead, in 1922, Britain split off 75% of Palestine to establish the Emirate of Transjordan, as a throne for the Arabian Hashemite family.

The UN decided to split the remaining 25% of Palestine between Jews and Arabs. In 1948, five Arab armies attacked the newborn State of Israel. Transjordan annexed the area intended for an Arab state, and renamed itself the Kingdom of Jordan, calling the annexed area the West Bank. Egypt took over Gaza. No Arab suggested making the West Bank and/or Gaza into yet another Arab state until 1967, when Israel was again attacked by the Arabs and took these areas.

The reality is that neither Lebanese or Israeli actions should be getting the condemnation of the UN.

Good Luck!!!

How are Israeli Jews innocent. Some people in this site are ignorant to the Evil Israeli government and how they continue to harass, discriminate, and kill innocent(not "terrorist") Every day of the week. If people would stop thinking about Jewish Genocide in WWII and realize this is the Genocide of Palestinian people just to gain global power(Israel together with America rule the world and control the middle east.). Note= I am not saying Jewish people, just Israeli government and army. I could go into what they do but it would take years, just know there is a good reason some Palestinians become violent. It is not just anger over land. Ps. there are many other ethnic groups in our world, like Armenians, that people have tried to exterminate but no one talks about that. Israel cannot use the holocaust to have an excuse to hurt another race. This is evil and wrong. If anything they should have more compassion and they don't.

Michael J
Forget the UN, none of the human rights groups that always jump all over any Israeli action have said a word about either situation. The closest thing is when someone "calls on both sides to end the violence". There's obviously a double standard. With regards lebanon, I guess politics overrides human rights; everyone wants a stronger government in power, with extremist groups weakened. To that end, they'll support the government againt terrorists with no qualms, even if some civilians get caught in the cross fire. As for Hamas, I guess people just feel that the situation is too murky to choose sides.

moneymaker
Smutty, you are right, just like it is way too simplistic to say that "Israel is killing civilians."

The fact is - it is OK to the entire world for Arabs to kill Arabs. No problem whatsoever!
It is also OK for Arabs to kill Jews. Hey, they are "resisting occupation!"
But when it comes to Israel aiming at terrorists that is when the conciseness of every "peace-loving" European awakens, and starts screaming "Evil Zionists!!!"

Of course it happens that the innocent die or get hurt, but that is the horrors of war - innocents sometimes die. Israelis never aim at civilians, Palestinians ALWAYS aim at civilians.

eve
what the hell r u talking about......im sorry but when u dont know that facts just shut ur mouth.....if lebanon did not care for the palestenians in there they would have eneded this ugly war from the 1st week, those terrorists in there are killing the army and bombing lebanese sites and killing innocent people, the lebanese army is doing his best to get rid of the terrorists without hurting innocent civilians, every war has its victims and this war started by some terrorists that takinbg the civilians in there as human sheilds

Well , now you can see the extent of the problem ! At the root cause of the WHOLE problem is the way Israel came into being in ' 48. The foundations were laid then for the misery & heartache in the region , be it Lebanon , Israel ,. Jordan , Syria ...

It is not good enough for Israel to wash its' hands of the broader problem & try to contain the Palestinians by building walls ! Your government is building walls in the hearts of people ! It is showing a hardness of heart & spirit towards fellow human beings !

Lebanon has problems within its' borders caused directly by what YOUR people did in ' 48 & you do nothing to help but just criticise & whinge about suffering in your country !You suffer NOTHING compared to the generations of people you dispossessed & caused to live as third world refugees !

Where is your conscience ? Where is your compassion ? Where is your humanity ?

حلاَمبرا hallambra
It is easy to talk when dont know the reallity.
Lebanon is only defending itself from terrorists.
Palestinian camp near Tripoli has been taken as military base by some Fattah al Islam and Hamas terrorists. Lebanon cant allow them to be inside their country.
Palestinians were allowed to live in Lebanon, bcoz Israel took their lands.But........does that give the palestinians the right to keep terrorists among them for fight against lebanese interests???
Why Fattah or Hamas doesnt fight against Israel from Palestine??
Why Hamas has to come to Lebanon to fight against Israel from here??
I have already heard that "song" before!!! Syria and also palestinians fought against Israel from Lebanon.....some years ago.
So.....now, the lebanese Army has all my support.
Lebanon has to finish for once and forever, with the ones that hidden among the civilians are trying to make another civil war in Lebanon.
That civilians that allowed Fattah and Hamas terrorists to be among them.........arent lebaneses, and they didnt respect the country that offered them with generosity a piece of land to live and where raise their sons in peace.

Lebanon is not shelling an innocent palestinian refugee camp...the Lebanese army is after a terrorist group who took shelter inside a palestinian camp. Most of the innocent people were evacuated and the army is doing its job in neutralizing this terrorist cell...afterall we cannot let terrorist get away with everything can we?

We are so tired of Mid east mentality of never ending vengence and retaliation and blame and whining about how the other side is unfair.

All you mental midgets deserve what you are getting. Every time the other side wants to set down to peace, the fighting gets worse, so go tell someone who cares.
Hey at least you will never run out of rocks.

Smutty
Regardless of what I think of Hamas and any other religious armed groups, I think it is too simplistic to state that "Hamas are killing hundreds of Palestinians".

Yes, they are getting direct support from Syria and Iran and unfortunately they won the Palestinian parliamentary elections last January in 2006 as I think.

Of course this was not a "victory" for them because they knew that they cannot form a government on their own since they are hostages of their system of beliefs and hence crippled to take any action. This would have been the ultimate opportunity to uncover them so that everybody knows that they don't have any concrete applicable schedule.

Instead of waging war on them, I think it would have made total sense if the world let them stumble with their own "victory". They would have brought misery for Palestinians sooner or later who elected them. In the next elections, Palestinians shouldn't elect them again. If they do, it's there business, but they should know better...

As for Lebanon, its a totally different situation. Fatah Al Islam captured many off duty Lebanese soldiers and killed them in a brutal away on purpose to terrorise military personnel.

I personally know that these militants whether Fatah Al Islam or Hizbollah DO use civillians as their human sheilds. Yes, there is a level of hypocrisy here when Arabs (or even a portion of the Lebanese) blame Israel for targeting "civilian areas". I mean, you are right we can do a comparison.

The only difference however is that the civilians in Nahr Al Bared camp sympathise to a great extent with the Lebanese Army since a coalition of Palestinian groups have taken the Army's side. But yes, we are bombing the camp with 155mm artillery. It's our territory and our soldiers were slaughtered brutally and the military will not stop the operation until its done.

Hope this helps.

cat's meow
You are totally right.

When Israel defends herself, the whole world is busy screaming condemnation. But when Hamas kill their own people, and Lebanon attacks a refugee camp, the world is strangely silent. Where are all the angry voices now?

allonyoav
So whats new? Clearly it is ok to oppress Jews- since there has not been a single condemnation from UNHRC on the treatment of Jews in lands under Sharia law. Nor has the UNHRC seen fit to condemn the shooting of rockets at civilians in Israel.
