Just get in line with everyone else. My husband's customer, a kind old gentleman in his seventies, was brutally beaten and suffocated in his home. He was the most generous and positive person I knew. He had a hard life. His wife recently passed away after a long illness with Alzheimer's disease and he refused to put her in a home. One week later he died of a heart attack (I'm positive it's from the stress of the attack). The armed response people caught the culprits, but knowing our system, they will probably be out on the streets in no time. This is in honour of my friend, Mr Knox-Holmes. May you rest in peace. |

jackasses like that are the same the world over...I'm so sorry to hear of your trouble. I hope she gets well soon. We have the same thing here in the US...and it's everywhere I believe. People are simply too motivated by money. |

I'm very sorry. That's horrible! I don't know what to say, except to offer my sympathy and the hope that your aunt will be okay, and that they catch the ones who did it quickly. |

That is why you need to move to america.
My grandma is 80 yrs old and she gets out of her car to yell at people when they piss her off. I always tell her, "Grandma what are you thinking? They could kill you" She says " This is america, no one would hit an innocent old lady like me " *grins slyishly* |

because South Africa is a barbaric country. SA government cannot control the crime or maybe they do not want to. Look in EU, US , AUS, etc. The police doint take ****. In SA I saw with my own eyes how a guy that was arrested next to Green Market Square for shoplifting spit into the face of a police officer. There is NO respect for the law and this my friend is the fault of the government. Then again I suppose it´s Africa right ? |

Lets see South Africa, Thought you were here in Washington D.C. at first until I saw the Western Cape part so looked again. Sorry, but it happens all over the world, not just South Africa. The bast***s prey on the weak. I hope they get caught and hung. I will say a prayer for her. |

That just plain su*ks! Sorry to hear that. You have my best wishes. It boils down to easy pray and the beating is a sense of control and dominates. Again I am sorry to hear that. |

Im really sorry to hear that
These things are happening everywhere. I really dont know what to say but people are loosing their dignity by doing these things to old and weak people. |

THIS is why LIBERALS P@@ me off! If WE fight back we have to stop and think about the rights of our attackers because age, race, gender or god knows what. had I come across your aunt being mugged and I had a gun I would have happily sent them to hell and escorted her home. criminals will always find ways to get guns. gun control does CRAP. whats also appalling is that people probably DID see what happened but wont say anything. instead of kissing gang a@@ with no snitch we need to COOPERATE with the police!!!!! anyone in a gang deserves nothing but a BULLET. PERIOD. love and hope to your aunt! |

That is the major crisis that South Africans face today, the violent nature of crime in this country and the failure of the ANC criminals to take action against such thugs or are they brothers in arms?
I noted with great sadness that the ANC continue to ignore the severity of crime in South Africa, not even mentioning the crisis as a major issue during their policy conference in Pietersburg during December as well as Zuma's ignoral of the issue in his recent speech at Atteridgeville, Pretoria.
One can make peace with the loss of possessions and learn to live under such conditions, one cannot however live under conditions where your life and the lives of your family and friends are in danger everyday of your life at the hands of violent and savage thugs who have been granted a license to kill by the ANC governments failure to act decisively and meaningfully with some degree of intent.
The situation is far from its worst, expect an acceleration in violent crime over the coming months under the even more inept government of Jacob Zuma. |

It is truly a sad day when violence enters one's life and even more so if it involves the helpless. From a distance I extend to her and your family my moral support and best wishes. |

That is pathetic...just plain pathetic. I am sure that she would not have put up a fight......so sad. I hate fools that do things like this. The person that did it was probably on drugs or something |

Welcome to South Africa. :( |

It's a trademark of scumbags in general that they have to completely disempower and humiliate their victims beyond what seems requisite for a mere robbery; in this way, they themselves feel powerful, no matter how illusory that "power" may be.
I grew-up surrounded by violence, so I can empathize with innocent people who get caught up in this stuff. |

Don't come to live in England it's awful about things like that here as well. The best of luck to you and I hope your aunt gets better soon. |

I really feel bad for you, and those innocent people who get suffered like this.
What I would tell you, would perhaps be a joke for many.
Wouldn't it be a good idea, that you start a group and atleast try to remove this kind of assaults from south africa? What 's the worst to happen, that you will die fighting for righteousness, but atleast the next generation would be happy. |
