First choice would be Germany or the USA. At the moment of the economic crisis I may choose Germany. Tax takes around 49 percent of your salary (as a single), but therefore healthcare is provided and a much better social system exists in Germany than in the USA.

Poland? My husband's cars always would be stolen:))

Russia? To low incomes, to high rents, to much hassle to get goods/items I am used to.

China? No way, don't want to live in a communist country. Their society is to hard to get used to. They smile in your face and may stab you in the back.

Jordan? Never been there, but willing to give it a try. Jordan is the closest choice beside USA or Germany.

Pakistan? NO!

Please be aware that of all mentioned countries Germany is the only country with a good social system (health care, unemployment and retirement money, etc) and where all citizen/residents have the same chance to good education. No matter if they live in big cities or outside. Beside the public transportation system in Germany is great.

Beside Americans and Germans coming to work/live to the UAE, they do it on there own will whereas the other nationals mostly have to leave their country to make a living. What has a country to offer when it can not take care of their own people? Germany is full of Russian and Poland workers and prostitutes.
The Russian Mob is increasing Dubai's crime rate. Most prostitutes are from Russia and China.
Pakistanis are eager to come to the UAE or any other gulf states to make a living.

I stick with Germany and USA.

Nomad
Well I am british so I would stick with britian.
I know england's climate gets banged about but I think it's absolutely the best in the world - doesnt get too hot to be need more than just small table fans and nor does it get really cold enough to snow you in. Life keeps moving whatever the weather bcos it doesnt reach extremes. Also the UK, how can I say it?, has such a vibrant mulicultural, multi-ethnic culture it's truly amazing. I mean I find in America everyone goes and becomes like Americans, in Europe they dont want you there in the first place, and in Middle eastern countries there are too many hiearchies of race. the UK is a TRUe democracy - i mean in the US if you criticize the president you can be alung in jail for treason, but the UK you can call the PM a poodle and get away with it. the UK offers true freedom, the press of really free and the people are very aware of the world. In the US you see the news channels and papers - i mean its irritating how ignorant they are and also how smug!
I used to live in this small village in the UK and we were as a family very well-integrated into the community. It was really nice even though there wasnt a single Asian around! But anyway like I said I love the UK's tolerance and multi-ethnic culture.
Also it has a very good welfare system - schooling for kids and the healthcare is excellent and for free. what else do you need?
My second choice would immigrant friendly Canada. Similar to the UK, but with lots more snow..... there's only so much cold i can take, which is why it is my second choice!

I would probably choose a European country. Poland seems to be a cool and quiet country which fits for me. Also, Germans are mostly very arrogant but hardly ignorant, and I like that too!

Mintee
usa, simply cause half my family are from there.. its like a 2nd home.

Mary
USA

Martina
Since I'm American, I'll be biased and say the USA. But getting rid of that choice...

Poland.

It's so peaceful there. :D

They have the best highway system in the world, and that should help in avoiding certain drivers, plus their language sounds cool, imagine saying: Dah, instead of yes.

Hey what about United Kingdom?

Anyways my answer is this ...How you feel about yourself is most important regardless what location you are in. If you are a content human being any country or city can be inspirational.

Edit : You have mentioned Pakistan i think because they gave nuclear technology to Iran lol.

tina
hey glo! u did'nt mentioned India.BTW, what made u think of Pakistan?? well, i'll never prefer to live thre. i'm very scared of bom blasts & terrorists (many r thre).even the locals thre r scared of their country

Anywayz, Saudi is a gud place to live for the only reason that the two holy mosques r hre & i find so much peace when i visit these places. i wish to die in these places.

I've always wanted to live in the US, but I think I'll pass this time. I'd rather live in a country whose language I don't know (that good).

Germany seems nice, and it's also our neighboring country, so visiting Holland wouldn't be problematic at all.

Russia is so interesting..
And knowing Polish would also be great.

I think I'd go for Germany.

russia i had lived there before and i like it :D

@ Nomad, if that's what you think about the US, then you're clearly very ignorant; this country was founded with free speech being one of the points of most emphasis. People ctiticize our leaders endlessly. I can't count how many times I've heard people bash our presidents, especially G.W. Bush and Clinton. That's why I choose the USA, because it may be bad here at times, the economy might be suffering, we have high crime rates, and people complain about the health care, but even so, we have it better off than most, if not all of the rest of the world. No matter how much the rest of the world hates us, and no matter how bad our economy is, I always feel safe in my country, and I know that my leaders are trying to do what's best for their country. Yes, even G.W. Bush; at least he stuck to what he though was right, even if you think he was an idiot. Also, there are a lot of idiots in the US, but for the most part everyone here is pretty nice and helpful, unless you live in Chicago or NYC maybe.

Sarah
I prefer USA..

USA because I live here and people are mostly very nice and I speak the language fluently and I was born here, though I'm Saudi too and love Saudi the same way for the same reasons :-)

Germany, Russia, and Poland, I would face too much discrimination because I'm not blond and dont speak the language. Jordan: I really dont like the dialect; it's not cute like Egyptian or Lebanese, not proper like Saudi, just weird.

Pakistan LOL, Phulease!! China, NO NO NO I've been to Hong Kong and let me tell you, those people are like aliens I swear to God it was the closest I've ever gotten to extra terrestrials. When they dont understand english they start angrily screaming at you in chinese or look away pretending they dont hear you.

edit: I agree with nomad about Britain; it really is very different from the rest of europe and I would definitely consider living there too. Britain are much smarter and open-minded than Americans.
