Being Egyptian is not a religion. However, being Muslim is. Many Egyptian's are muslims, but they can also be Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, and other religions. So, you could really choose both.

That's one of the weirdest questions I've ever seen. What does one have to do with the other? And why would a person ever have to choose between his or her nationality and religion?

Egyptian is a race so it is not like you can convert to be Egyptian. You can live in Egypt, but if you are not born there most likely you will not be considered Egyptian. Most people would not consider you Egyptian until several generations later.

A Muslim is the name of person who follows Islam. Everyone has a choice when it comes to religion, as opposed to what nationality they are. When you are Muslim, you are part of something greater than any country can give you.

So if it was MY choice (and it was 5 years ago) I would choose to be Muslim and marry an Egyptian. Problem solved and you have both of what you asked.

I think you are an expirate whom is supposed to be working here (in Egypt) so I'm wondering when exactly are you working???!!! all what you do is posting questions criticizing every single detail in Egypt & Egyptians specially Muslims,I think your employer should reconsider your salary amount,unless posting such a questions is a part of your job
