I don't like it when people do public engagements its as if they are showing-off and people that show-off are people with low self-esteems and more importantly it puts pressure on the lady to accept even if she is not sure.

I feel it should be in a private place so that she is not under pressure to say yes and if she says no it much easier for her to explain why and its easier for the guy to listen as well.

Do it privately then you know 100% that she wants to marry you.

I agree with Ayiza. If you want us all to witness your proposal, I suggest you invite us all to your "proposal ceremony" and do it in style!! But, if you had done it on the board, I would have giggled. And if the questions was directed at a specific person, I would have waited to see if that person responded.
