OK i will answer sincerely and on behalf of myself and my family only , we did we received a big amount of money that was deyya for my late beloved brother because he was shot by accident and in Islam the killer gives money to the family of the victim as compensation or something , and my family really got to know relief and comfort by spending it all for god sake , for tumors section in hospitals specially kids , for kidney failure cases , for youth who want to get married and cant afford it and we felt relief in every penny we felt that all of this money is REALLY in our account with ALLAH , and if i had this million i will be glad to do the same with it , because i really need nothing more , not because i am too rich to accept one million , no because i am too rich by being satisfied with what i already have , and the look of appreciation and merite in poor's eye , a prayer comes out from his heart for god to save you Worth's all the money in the world, as Mohamed said (( if someone sleeps safe at night healthy in his body , and have the necessary food for his day then he has the world and all what's in it )) |

A worthy cause.
Well, the power of the community results from the power of the individual.
Do u remeber Talat Harb?
Do you remember how he built many useful things in Egypt? motion picture companies, banks etc etc.
Well, he was a powerful man. One must be powerful in order to help the community. So, what I would do is to start a business. One that uses 100% national material. 100% Egyptian labour. And I would trade fairly and give the workers their fair shares.
Then the business would grow. Why not when you're giving everybody what they derseve?
Then I would build more and more factories. I would focus on the things that we don't produce here in Egypt. Perhaps manufacture computer parts instead of importing it from China.
Slowly, slowly things would be bigger and bigger and I will help the community as a whole when I become powerful. |

A million dollars would not be enough but I would use the money to install air conditioning in the Cairo Museum.
For Egypt relies on the tourist dollar for its economy.
So any money spent on helping to preserve its ancient history is certainly a good investment for the country.
At present many exhibits are having to be taken away from being displayed here in Cairo because of the appalling state the the museum is in.
It is not at all conducive to preserving the irreplaceable ancient artifacts it is in fact more detrimental to put them on display because of the lack of air conditioning.
In addition staff there have to contend with at least one heart attack per month and several collapses of visitors every week because of the conditions. |

I will put it in the bank and wait for the benefits. I will spend a part of this money (the benefits) to help people who need it and with the other part i will buy anything i need. Maybe i will buy a small car. Actually it is a very difficult question that i never thought of an answer for it but thats what i think i will do first |

yaaaaaaaaah 7agat ktera....but i always dream for an orphanage...but not a normal one....one to take care of them till they get married and provide them with all facilities that normal ppl get.....and also for the deaf and mute....the community treats them as freaks where in some countries they treat them with more care than normal ppl...they work on developing their talents and their knowledge...... |

i will build my own school for children. with only $400K's.
Make expenses minimum. I will put the other $600 k's in a profiutable project so that it will bring me money to pay the costs of the school. After some years when the school become successful, i will open funds for the school, let all the people who are concerned voluntarily pay some money so that we can open more of the same schools.
i will personally interview the parents and the children. i will teach them right, bring them the best teachers ever.
that's an accomplishable dream..just show me the money! |

Having only been to Egypt one time, last year, I would think that setting up a fund to finance the cost of people applying for "vendor stands" within the city. I read in the newspaper in Cairo that many, many people can not afford the licensing fee to set up their own "business", such as selling trinkets, newspapers, soda-pop, etc. and that the government had been raising the fee to do so in an effort to keep the numbers of such businesses down.
It was quite obvious to me that the people that ran one of these businesses were very proud, self-sufficient, used pretty good business skills, and only made a small amount of money on each transaction. I also read that these vendors are sometimes "closed down" by the local police, for not having the proper paperwork.
It seemed to me that all efforts should be made to allow people to be self-sufficient. One million dollars could finance a mind-boggling number of such vending stands. The concept of "insurance" for these vendors could also be included. I understand that they have a fairly high incidence of people ripping off some of their products. Insurance for such occurances would be very cheap, and also provide the vendors with a bit of security.
Then the next step would naturally lead to some sort of health insurance, some minimal way to assure that people can afford the basic, preventative care that all human beings deserve.
Then, I would consult with "sistablu" on what she thought the people needed, and then I'd help fund that proposal.
Thanks for the question!

I'd help the people in Gaza get food, water and medical supplies. I know it's not Egypt, and Israel is the main issue there, but Egypt isn't doing those poor people any favors either... |

When I was in Cairo I was greatly moved by the number of homeless women with children.
If it was up to me, I would open up a place for them. Give them and their children a place to sleep and eat, a job and then help them finding a place to stay. I would call it house of Hagar, after Abraham's second wife Hagar who was driven out of her home by Sarah and later gave birth to Ismail. Ideally the project would support itself from the labour these women provided in exchange for shelter and food. They could be trained in things that would help them to make their own living. Once they could support themselves and had a place of their own to stay, they would have to leave and make room for other women in need. |

asalam alaikum, for the sake of Allah(swt) i would give a large amount to " Manabir Al Noor" this is a charity that my wife is involved in....As most of u know we run a physical therapy clinic where we dont turn anyone away for lack of ability to pay.... So when this group has a paitent we take them, and my wife works with them raising money for other cases too......2nd I'd take some and help the people stuck in Rafah. Our local masjid here in Ca took a collection after Jummah and we managed to raise 2000usd for them....and a bit for finding new mufflers for some cars, cut down on that smoke.....
and we cant forget the other creatures of Allah (swt) I always want in Cairo to take away the donkey and horses from the people that whip them carrying too heavy of loads....(i actually beat a guy up in heliopolis for beating a lame horse) but some land and retire these poor animals...great question, salaams |

sadly in this time $1 million is not enough to do anything very dramatic, but i would put it into some basic health care, probably in upper egypt where the care is not very good
and I would include in that health education. but it would only be enough to support one clinic for a short time. |
