We often e-mail each other, since we are on different continents.
I usuallly start with "My darling girl" or "My Angel", and end with "I love you". When I'm in a more classic mood, it may be "Truthfully Yours". The variation in wording has a lot to do with what I sense her needs are.

I would be most boring with "my dear ...". I had one friend who used to write: "my dearest, beloved, sweetheart ..."
and ending "I canÂ´t wait for ..., with all my love, .."
