There are loads of clubs and discos in both Cairo and Luxor and they go to the early hours of the morning.All are licenced and serve some wild cocktails so be careful!
You will probably have just enough time to change, have a shower and get on the bus to go sightseeing.
Egypt is far from boring in any respect .Even if you are not so into ancient history you are going to see things that will have you in awe. "How did they do it?" and "Isn't it so beautiful",will be phrases you will say a lot during your time here.
The night only start here at 7-8pm and goes on to dawn.
You see families out with their kids in the parks at 2am and guys having a soccer match in Luxors main street at 4a.m.
So don't worry you will be still laughing at 5 a.m.

Vikki, it is the exact opposite. People drink because they are bored and they have nothing else to do.
In Egypt it is so much fun you wont have anytime to think about drinking.
Imagine, all the sun, beach, diving, snorkling, visiting places, meeting new people, adventures, nile cruises, camel riding, ...etc.

anyone who tells you Egypt is boring is a chump who either hasn't been there or when they got there they were too scared to explore and find all the good bits. That might not mean exactly what you're looking for, but part of travel is finding new things!
Go there with the right attitude and you'll enjoy it whatever it has to offer. |

Who ever told you that Egypt is boring is crazy! You will not want to sleep cuz there is so many things to do there. The people are friendly and helpful and you will have the time of your life! No joke! If all you want to do is drink...you can stay home to do that..but if you are looking for fun, fun, fun....then go to Egypt! You will not have enough time to do everything that Egypt has to offer. Cairo is a city that never sleeps....you will have a wonderful time! Enjoy! |

WHAT A LOAD OF OLD RUBBISH! I am 23 & i live in Egypt, trust me you will never ever have a dull moment. Your age group will get lots of attention & marriage proposals, all good fun! Egyptians are the frienliest race I know, they all have good sense of humour & most speak good English.
We have the greatest history of the world on our doorstep going back over 4000 years. Visit all the Temples, museums etc.
Nightlife in Hurgada is great,every night you will be spoilt for choice, you can party til early hours if thats what you want to do.
Ignore what your told(THEIR JEALOUS)& come here & have a ball!
Wish I could join you but I have to work + I live in Sharm(come here next visit). LOL! |

Egypt is definitely not boring there is so much to do and so much to see. Don't worry you Will be able to drink and going out at night is a must go to some local bars and clubs.

its a good idea to go and have fun in Egypt. its a nice place worth to see and spend some of your vacation money in there.but remember, some times it gets too hot and u need to consider that. |

i seriously hope you dont find it boring, i cant tell you anything about hurghada, but luxor is one of the best open air museums in the world. there is so much to see there and you would miss such a lot if you dont go and see some.
find a taxi, tell them where you want to go and how long for, negotiate your price, in egyptian pounds for all of your party. and go and see the valley of the kings, where tutankhamun was buried, karnak temple, the largest religious complex in the world and its around 3500 years old parts are older some parts less. go to the valley of the nobles and the workman and hatshepsut. Go and see the mummies in luxor museum including that of the pharoh rameses 1.
there is plenty more to see in the day if you have the energy. in the afternoon find a fellucca and take a sailing trip up the nile.
at night go out for dinner at one of the many restaurants or hotels, visit one of the bars in the hotels or one of the tourist places. try thebes or habib on the road out of luxor to the bridge. there are some discos, in the tut hotel, the sinhoue or kings head pub, the mercury hotel/ etap which has a belly dancer at aorund midnight and others.
most discos dont start to get going before about 12 midnight, though some get busier than others. they all serve alcohol and rarely finish before 2am-4am.
if you prefer bars there is one outside the etap with live music, and many many more, then if you want a little local colour go try the golden palace in tv street, the bellydancing club in the basement or the bar on the roof. there are many many more places, these are only a few.
no you will not be bored. my daughter is 23 and likes the sonesta hotel best.
boring is the very last word i would ever call egypt or luxor.
