Not really an issue since Palestinians do not live in Israel, they live in the West Bank and Gaza. If you meant the Israeli Arabs, Jews have a higher birthrate than them mainly due to Mizrahi and Hasidic Jews having 6 to 18 kids.

Jews are worried about exactly this, and vow to keep Israel alive. They believe that the Jews deserve a homeland and so they want to make sure that it is there forever, whenever the Jews need it. There is a movement of Jews to Israel going on now. They come from all over the world. Moving to Israel is considered very respectable in many Jewish communities.

In the West Bank and Gaza, Arabs make up about 65% of the population. The Israelis are attempting to change this with ILLEGAL(International Law) settlements and buffer zones using stolen Palestinian land and ethnic cleansing(killing) of INNOCENT Palestinians so they can avoid a MAJORITY Arab Israel by annexing the West Bank and Gaza strips(reason why Netanyahu refuses the two state-can not annex the West Bank and Gaza strips-the Palestinians enjoyed self rule since Ishmael). Currently, Palestinians make up about 35% of Israel's population. Arabs are reproducing about 1.5 times faster than Jews. the Best estimates are in about 20-25 years the Arabs will out number the Jews, then, if Israel still wants to remain democratic, the Arabs will simply vote the Jews out of office.It is for this very reason why Israel has declined the "Right of return" of the Palestinians. Israel CAN NOT afford to become an Arab MAJORITY-the Arabs would get their stolen land back without a war.The Israelies will probably use the same tactic the Nazis used on them and that they used on the Arab Palestinians of 1948-LEAVE OR BE KILLED.

I have been curious about this, as well. What if you just looked at those Arabs in Israel with (2nd class) Israeli citizenship? What would the Israeli government do if they became the majority? What measures would be acceptable to maintain a "Jewish State"? Expulsion of Arabs? After seeing what Israel has been capable of so far, I wouldn't put it past them.

Netanyahu said he is not in favor of a 2 state solution at the expense of Israel. All in the information is in that sentence. I will explain. If a palestinian arab state is created and they cannot control radical groups such as Hezbollah influencing their country.......then Israel will militarily control the region again. Why? Say, a couple of rockets hit Israel. How should Israel respond? Send 2 rockets back? Maybe you are right, proportionate responses are the answer.

I'm sorry but I have an extremely low opinion of Palestinians. They taught me to hate them. In fact, I hardly believe they're fit to govern themselves. Look at Gaza. Palestinians destroyed the greenhouses that were used to feed people, like Zimbabweans, and now instead of selling surplus food for millions of dollars like they did when the settlers were there, they starve!

Of course the Palestinians have at the very least 5, and not uncommonly 12 or 13 children per family, and continue to live in abject poverty and ignorance with an extremely high unemployment rate, infant mortality rate, and low life expectancy. Palestinians have children not to give them good lives, but to create more pawns in their war with Israel!

But, I see from the names of some of your siblings that you are a Christian. I very much respect Arab Christians in general, because I believe they are a persecuted people. All of my problems with Palestinians have to do with Islam. The unity that exists between Palestinian Muslims and Christians is mostly symbolic, although most Christians wouldn't say or even know it, and I'll tell you why.

The movement from the 1940s to the 1960s that liberated Arab countries from European colonialism, was based not on Islamism, but on Arab nationalism. It drew inspiration from memories of Islamic glory and unity, but it did not intend to enforce Islam; religion was only a symbol. That said, Arabs of all religions participated in Arab nationalism. There were many Jewish Arab nationalists, back in the days when there were actually Jewish communities in the Middle East, and also many Christian Arab nationalists.

This tradition is gone. The Arab-Israeli conflict lent a great credence to Islamic fundamentalism because people began to see more secular movements fall. The Arab defeats in 1948 and especially 1967 played a big role. In more recent days, the perception people have that it was Hezbollah and not the Lebanese Army that "saved" Lebanon from Israel, and the perception that it is Hamas and not secular Fatah that is willing to kill yahud.

In the 1980s, Islam became political. Many Arab countries didn't even have an official religion until then. Arab and Muslim countries made Islam the religion of the state and started basing their legal systems more around Islamic Shariah.

The result is that everything has become progressively worse for Arab Christians. You are not allowed to run for President or Prime Minister according to the Constitutions of say, Egypt, Syria, or Jordan, even though you have been native to these countries for thousands of years longer than Muslims. You are not allowed to preach your religion to Muslims, on threat of imprisonment, and you are not allowed to accept Muslim converts. You are not allowed to stop your people from converting to Islam. Your men are not allowed to marry Muslim women; their marriage would be illegal. On the other hand, Muslims are freely allowed to marry your women, and to have children raised as Muslims who would otherwise have been Christian. And to build a church, you need a great deal more paperwork than you would for a mosque, sometimes permission from the Governor or even the President.

The proof of this is undeniable. You need only look at population percentage figures of Christians in older times. Bethlehem and Jerusalem used to be Christian cities--now they're what, 5% Christian? Lebanon used to be 60% Christian--now it's barely 35%. An overall drop of over 40%, in the region's only Christian country! And don't get me started on Iraq. There were 1.4 million Assyrian Christians during Saddam's time, and now there are 800,000. Christians are a small percentage of the population, yet they are very overrepresented in the refugee population.

Meanwhile look at Arab communities in, say, the United States and South America--almost all Christian! I was shocked to find out that only a quarter of Arab Americans are Muslim. There are 7 million people of Lebanese descent in Brazil, how many of them do you think are Muslim when according to the last census, there weren't even a million Muslims in the whole country?

The Arab Christian population in Arab countries is suffering a staggering decline that lower birth rates cannot explain--it's much higher emigration rates because of Islamic fundamentalism. And for the same reason, many more Arabs living abroad are Christian, than you would think.

Now the fact is--Israel is the only country in the Middle East where the Arab Christian population has actually grown, from 30,000 people in 1948 to over 130,000 today.

And I'm not a yahudi by the way, I'm from North Africa and I used to believe in Islam.

To correct an earlier answerer, Haredi Jews (not Mizrahi) have the highest Jewish birth rate, an average of 7 or 8 children per family, certainly not 18. Haredim are only 5-10% of the Jewish population. And the fastest growing demographic in Israel proper, is Arab Muslims, with a growth rate of 4.5% each year, doubling every 18 years--copying the tactics of their Palestinian cousins.

A country were the population is growing disproportionately to its size, should apply China's One Child Policy.

Before you get bent out of shape, there are many Jewish communities were families average 10.3 children per.

If you are talking Palsetinans of the Gaza and west bank than their number is of no significance, by the time they are predicted to outnumber us it will no longer be necessary, peace will cure it all.
