Is Christianity the world's biggest irony?

Think of it. The Romans killed Jesus. And the rulers of Christianity (going according to Catholicism) are the Popes, cardinals, etc, the Vatican, in Italy---> Italian descendants of the people who originally killed Jesus are heading the Church. LOL! How ironic.

Additionally, and unrelated, do you belive that the Vatican secretly has the treasures from the Jewish Temple (the gold Menorah and vessels), or are they gone for all time (melted down 2,000 years ago by the Romans)

There is a bigger irony.

Romans kill jesus
christians blame the jews for killing jesus
even though jesus was a jew his mother was a jew
his discipels were jews the first pope was a jew.

yet jews, are responsible for his death....
ok jews as a whole never mind what time in history are
resposible. BUT JESUS DIED FOR THEIR SINS! SO HOW HE NOT BEING DEAD IS GOOD?

omg Peter F i thought guys like you only lived in places with no computers and televsion where its easy to brainwash you.

Live and let live...You are free to believe what you believe , I'm free, we're all free. Take it easy. Cheers!

Your remarks are all about Catholicism, not Christianity as a whole. Christianity is the belief in Christ, and (hopefully) the following of His teachings.

All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares.
(The Catholic church has a belief system involving Christ, making them Christians, but there are many, many Christians that are not part of the Catholic church.)

Dillicious
all religions, not just Chrisianity have flaws, I guess that is why religion aint my thing.

I don't know if the Vatican has the Temple's treasures, but I believe strongly that they hide a lot of treasures in their cellars and attics. Through the Middle Ages, they collected all the books and writings of anything that was outside of its dogmatic teaching. All the thinkers and writers and people that were considered heretics have their legacies stashed there. I have a feeling that if the Vatican will open its gates, we'll find there piles and piles of books - even Torahs and Talmuds. I wish they'd let the world in - all these treasures belong to the world!!!

Ultra N - did you see the movie - The Mission - its about the treasures in the Vatican!!!

If you think Catholicism has anything to do with Christianity or that the Pope or any elected member within the Roman Catholic church (government system) are Christian, you are pretty deceived. I can understand why you think it is Ironic.

I would suggest you do some better studying before you spout off with such foolishness.

The Roman Catholic Church IS the Empire Reformed, do some home work and you will see for yourself.

Why do you attribute the death of Christ to the Romans? The Jewish Sanhedrin demanded His death while the Roman Governor Pilot finding no fault with Jesus wanted to release Him. The custom being at that time of year that a prisoner be released. The Jewish Sanhedrin wanted Barabbas, another convicted prisoner released instead. The issue for the Jewish leadership of the day was Political. This man Jesus was a threat to their leadership because of the following Jesus was acquiring outside the traditional sects of Judaism. The Jewish leadership were responsible for the Crucifixion of Jesus. A Roman court did not convict Jesus, a Jewish Sanhedrin court did. The Roman soldiers who carried it out were merely innocent agents doing their duty. True, The Roman Governor pilot showed weakness by giving into the political pressure when he washed his hands of responsibility, but he knew where his bread was buttered. Part of his power derived from the consent of the Jewish leadership. The Sanhedrin wielded significant power.

I heard that the Pope had the menorah just recently. I forgot the news I saw it on, though. He has nothing to do with the menorah and doesn't care about it. He's just going for the gold. lol.

First of all to Anita, the Pope is infallible in matters of the church. With each new generation and Pope he strives to make the church and it's leaders..Bishops, Cardinals, Priest's serve the congregation better.
As an example changing the Mass from Latin to English so people could understand the mass.
Yes she was the "virgin Mary." Why do you Catholic bash?
Why is it so hard to accept my religion yet you expect me to accept yours.
Why can't the Rabbi's shake a woman's hand, why can't married people (at a wedding) dance together., why do Jewish woman cover their hair..and what's with the long beards on the men!
In case you haven't noticed you have offended me, and I see no reason for it.
As for the treasures in the Vatican, like with any other group that fought against others, yes, they took the spoils of that victory.
Popes years ago went into battle with their men.
And we are no more strange than anyone else, when I was in Israel I respected your leaders and traditions. I had no meat and dairy at the same table at dinner. When I visited Yad Vashim (sp) we were all very respectful.
Try cutting us some slack!

Talking about the Vatican is talking about Catholics... and believe me, these guys are very, very strange due to my point of view... the pope says, that all his decisions he takes are correct and he never fails.
He is a human being and not even a prophet he is just a simple cleric.
Then centuries go by and they apologize for something the Catholic church and the former popes decided many centuries before - but if the pope in unfaultable, so sorry, I don’t understand this...
Then, talking clear, all Jewish people have been perused by Christianity and especially by the Roman Catholics... robbed and driven out of their homes and countries and murdered during the pogroms and the only way to survive they were given was convert into Catholics, but afterwards they were sewed again for being false Christians and killed the same way... that’s the history. Just remember the Spanish Inquisition.
So Jews were always made responsible for all bad things happening in the world, we were said to be similar to the devil and to kill a Jew was a good work in the name of Jesus...
How funny, they hate all Jews and try to murder our people and afterwards they run to the church and fall on their knees to pray to Jesus and the "virgin" Maria... a Jewish man and a Jewish woman...
I don’t know who robbed the gold, but we can be pretty sure that there are many more secrets hidden by the Vatican than by the CIA... these guys are even said to murder to stay in the power.
But I think it’s more likely that the Roman Emporium got away with the gold and that it was melted and used by the Caesars to finance their luxury life and stupid wars...
Yes history is full of hypocrites…

I don't think about it. Christianity may be what it wants, as long as it doesn't want to kill others. Islam on the other hand....

COMMENT FOR ACE

- your lack of understanding is woeful, to be honest. The Jews had no power and were totally oppressed by the Romans. They definitely had no power to 'demand' or even 'request' the death of Jesus, or anyone else. The Romans were at times crucifying up to 100 Jews a day.

If the Jews HAD wanted to kill Jesus, he would have been stoned. Only the Romans ever practised crucifixion.

And contrary to your nice little fairytale, Jesus never appeared before the Sanhedrin.

Whoo!
Omg! You're sooooo right! Wow. Thank you for opening up my mind to new things! LOL!

Peter F
Jews killed Jesus because they became currupt. Every generation of Jewish people have suffered as a result. The stigma is perpetual. Have you not noticed that?
