They focus on using highly paid public relations firms to arrange press coverage favorable to themselves and this proceeds on the assumption that if the most powerful nations are democracies then they will be responsive to popular opinion,which can be manipulated by the mass media. Hence the focus is not on diplomatic solutions to real problems but rather military solutions which are then wallpapered over p.r.-wise. Yes,they are operating under the assumption that as the public tires of an issue interest will die off and pressure from the international community will evaporate. Unfortunately this is not a functional policy in the long term,notwithstanding the excellent results it obtains in the immediate sense. Governments must honor commitments and abide by international law. Sooner or later the zionists will have to get out of the West Bank,the Golan Heights and withdraw their naval blockade of the Gaza. They are indeed hoping that their usual p.r. wizardry can work it's magic,but they are wrong. Contraventions of international law remain an issue until they are resolved - with or without media interest.

The International Community can't forget what it never "remembered?" So don't hold your breath awaiting any change in the Palestine apocalypse.
To "j.j" I would suggest that the situation has nothing to do with Zionism-anti or otherwise. It simply has to do with human suffering that cannot be seriously justified by anyone objective human being.

Believe me the Israeli leaders themselves do not know how to end the occupation. If you ask any Israeli would tell you that Israel was far better before the occupation.

Since the US blindly supports Israel, no international organization can do a thing about what Israel is doing. It's to the point where Israel can claim the UN of lying and not even be criticized. So in all likelihood, the occupation will soon be labeled legal.

Pecisely. Their policy in diplomacy has always been to never say yes and never say no and then bide their time. It doesn't work - diplomats around the world keep very close track of the actual legal status of an occupation - but they seem to think what matters is creating smoke and miror type false impressions with the mass media. It does work with popular opinion - but not with governments,which is where all the power lies. That is why they will lose everything in the end. Many foreign ministers today just roll their eyes when you mention this alleged government and publishers increasingly use the term Palestine instead of Israel. It is losing credibility live a seive and it will end as it can only end,not with a bang but a whimper.

Oh Gloria, you cute little fluffy kitten, you! Are you also asking every other country in the world to give territory that's been won in defensive action from attacking armies to give away land as well, or is it just the "anti-zionist band wagon" you're riding? Hmmmmmm.

What are you talking about? Israel was getting a tiny sliver of the land it got, only after complete rejection and then attack by FIVE armies did the boundaries change. Not so into truth kitten? :-)

I think the International Community has accepted it wholesale.
Are the illegally held lands described as Occupied Palestine? No.
Has the International Community made any attempt to stop Israel building (illegally) on the illegally held lands? No.
Did the International Community refuse to move their embassies to the new Capital City bang slap in the illegally held lands? No.
OK, how about a sporting boycott? No.

Too late, too late. The only hope is to wait for the demographics to reassert themselves. There must be a limit to the number of foreign jews Israel can import to stuff its illegal land.

Any present "Occupation" in Israel is a myth.

There were, of course, 19 years of Arab occupation of Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip. And neither Jordan nor Egypt suggested to create a "Palestinian" state, since the still non-existing Palestinians would have never claimed their alleged right to have their own state.

Paradoxically, during the British Mandate, it was not any Arab group, but the Jews that were known as "Palestinians"!

In fact, the Gazan terrorists just last week murdered two innocent Israeli citizens. And then they crashed into Israel with two explosive-loaded jeeps with the intention of murdering hundreds of Israelis.

More evidence of Muslim terror.

But there is indeed an occupation that is taking place right here on Yahoo Answers.

Some fellow calling himself "Bosco" wrote of the planned takeover of the Israel section (http://tinyurl.com/4w6oka):

The details of that question were as follows:
"I mean,I assume all Muslims sympathize with the Palestinians. It would be like a cyber version of a revolution. If enough Muslims just start posting on there - either issues relating to the Pals or just the same sort of thing you might post here - wouldn't you be ousting the yahoodi if enough people were doing it? It's not against the rules after all. Think of it...take over and convert it a de facto Palestine category. Opinions?"

So you see, their plan is to "liberate" Yahoo Answers by taking it over, just as the radical Islamists plan to "liberate" Israel by destroying it.

This must be resisted by all fair-minded people. And the Yahoo Answers staff should be doing their job.

The State of Israel doesn't hope! The State of Israel doesn't care much about public opinion or international community. The State of Israel doesn't care if her actions are accepted or not. The State of Israel doesn't answer to anyone.

Gloria, Don't you think hamas and hizbullah might be at fault?I mean just look what happened when Israel pulled out of Gaza. After dragging their fellow Israelis from their homes and leaving not only the homes standing but greenhouses and irrigation in place the first thing hamas did was start a campaign of rocket attacks. What's Israel's incentive for giving anything more? Watch now as hamas has been given "orders" from syria to not have a cease fire but rather step up their terror campaign. Gloria why also do you not post the same questions to Egypt which has a wall up as well?
