Yes it is safe, very safe. The street vendors are a little pushy so you are harassed by them, but that's not an insecurity, it is an inconvenience. The people are very receptive to foreigners and very hospitable. It is a wonderful country. Very tolerant open-minded culture. One of the safest tourist destinations in the third world. |

Muslim city???? It's a country!!!
It's a safe place, in my opinion. I live in the Canary Islands, 100 km away, and the businessmen who go there have never complaint of insecurity.
Terrorism is another topic, uncontrollable, which can strike worldwide and which should not be taken into account |

Check the Foriegn and Commonwealth Office website for the government's travel advice (www.fco.gov.uk). They have a section on Morocco. Ultimately it's up to you whether you think the Foriegn Office is presenting a balanced opinion regarding the country's safety. |

It was fine when I went there a few years ago with my young son. We had no real hassle only street people trying to sell you stuff you really don't want. Stay on the main pathways in the Medina's and be wary about going with strangers just as you would here. |

Morocco is safe, just as safe as being at home, infact it is probably safer! relax and have fun! you as a tourist, are one of th main sources of income over there, so u are pretty much guarenteed to be safe... they wont make any money if people didnt feel safe going there! |

You should be fine.....just like anywhere else be a smart traveler. American holidays are not celebrated in Morocco. For them it is just another day. Ramadan is a big month for them... they fast , so restaurants may be closed from sun up to sun down. There are culture differences. Drink only bottled water. You may be approached and asked for money, but they will pass you by if you say no. Enjoy....I am going back for my 4th visit, next month, inshallah! |

Yes it should be fine, though I would reccomend having company as the culture is quite different and it is good to have someone to talk to, I travelled on my own there in November and just hung out with other travellers from the hotels and hostels. You do not see women in bars at night time if you do they tend to be prostitutes. the lonely planet gives good guide lines on these things |

Surprisingly yes. Assuming you aren't Moslem, you have to bear in mind that you will be immersed in a completely different culture.
Dress modestly, meaning nothing below your neck, and nothing above your wrists and ankles should be exposed.
When possible, travel with a male escort, your husband, boyfriend, whatever... Someone who can defend you. I'm not saying you'll need defending, but harassment (most commonly verbal) can *SOMETIMES happen.
Above all, avoid mixing in crowds congregated at places of worship. If you don't follow Islam, then 99 percent of the time you ARE NOT welcome in their places of worship.
I've been to Morroco several times to visit friends. It's a beautiful place. Full of cultural flavor and color, just try to blend in. |

One of the safer Islamic countries because of their pro-west leaning all these years; but if i'm an american or a brit i'd stay home - never know what might happen these days - too many looney bins around |
