Is Saudi Arabia good place to live? |

I will give my personal experience...
The phrase " A good place to live " is actually too broad to reply with.
First of all, you have to define the reasons why you are going to Saudi in the first place. Most of the answers are really because of work. If your reason is to work and save, then - SAUDI is the BEST place on Earth !!!
Saudi culture, economy, society, etc. will allow you to earn as much as you can and save at the same time since the society and culture does not allow most of western cultures which are generally cost ans expenses genererating matters.
Besides from being a tax free country (as any of the GCC) accomodations, water & electricity, cars, insurance, health, etc are provided by the employers.
RAMADAN is a nice experience as well because it offers the non-muslims a chance to look back at the lives they are having & the way they are living with it. RAMADAN will give opportunities for everybody to detach in someway the earthly offerings in this world like cigarettes, too much foods, etc.
And the best thing I think - is the opportunity for a family to be really a family! The opportunity for the family to be together, to eat together in one table, to spend time and listen to each other, to bond with your siblings, parents, etc and to have the opportunity to see the Saudi ways and cultures which are really different from what the western world and the media is portraying in the WEST.
We know what life in the West is - certainly life in Saudi is something worth discovering by yourself...
And lastly, all I can say is that without the savour & flavour of politics and religions... Saudi Arabia is magnificent place to live along with the people, culture & society that are so diversed that is waiting to be discovered and experienced by an individual.
Good luck!!! |

Depends. Some will tell you it's the worst place there is. One of my teachers does that. I don't blame him. Because at certain times you'll get in contact with people that give you all the wrong impression. Don't let that effect you. Try looking at both sides of the pic. I'm sure you'll find it a peaceful place. For me, personally, it's one of the best places there is. I am mind you, a Muslim girl, from a Muslim background, non-saudi, but born & raised in the kingdom. I think it's as free as any other Muslim state, you just need to know where to look for fun. Plus, you have to try not to judge everything based on just one experience. Good luck :) |

Mr. Speaker

I can't imagine Saudi Arabia being a good place to live for a free spirited human being who loves life. You may actually get beheaded there. Or get stoned - whatever you wish. Publicly.
And, of course, they treat women as a commodity but they will deny it saying that they revere women. That's BS. |

Not if you are a woman. You are highly restricted: dress, driving, travel. And treatment under the law is shoddy:http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,256980,00.html |

it's like any country .. there a good things and a bad things ..
the goverment is treating people like a toys !! you can't change anything to your car .. not even a tint ..even with this high temperature place all the year long (104-122)F (40-50)C

yes it is a wonderful place to live, the people are nice and friendly, the food is great, the gas is soooo cheap, no taxes, you could find anything you want except alcohol, you only find alcohol in American compounds ... but if you don't like a warm weather then you better get ready : ) |
|

wolfkarew
 |
Yes it is. The education and medical facilities/hospitals are all free and paid for by the Government. Nice hot temperatures year round. The roads are crowded with traffic and the men drive badly but other then that it is fine. The cost of living is cheap. Food is cheap and tastes very nice. No bills to pay. No mortgage to pay. |
