Is Tom and Jerry bad for children?

I let my six-year-old watch Tom & Jerry cartoons. But never unsupervised, and we'll talk about them afterward to make sure there's no misunderstandings about what's safe or appropriate behavior. I don't think it's made him violent -- and he's decidedly less violent or jaded about violence than some of his classmates.

Oh yeah it is an absolutely horrific show!!! Look at the generation that watched it as kids and how they turned out to be psychopaths. Let's make children watch things that are more peaceful. The Exorcist and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre are just two of my recommendations!

I grew up watching Tom and Jerry. I am not violent, therefore i'm a living example! I love Tom and Jerry, that cartoon is great!

i will admitt that it is by far the best cartoon ever made, the colours are just so amazing even thought they are not animated much

i don't believe it will make your child violent at all, i mean i'm not violent, i believe in solving things peacfuly, because it takes more energy to be violent than it is to be calm :)

yes that's right i have experience my kids became more violence but let me tell u something Tom and Jerry was made for adults not for kids cause b4 there was no TV and cinema wasn't allowed for kids so they made a funny thing to be watched b4 the movie began and it was the old mickey mouse and Tom and Jerry so basically its not for kids cause to be honest they all time watch a cat try to catch a mouse or vise verse they all time hit each other treat each other in bad way to get what they want so what concept they learn we as adult can understand that but kids cant understand that Tom and Jerry just papers

Well I think now a days psychologist just like to think something is wrong with everyone and so therefore have to come up with ridiculous excuses for the people that really do have problems, poor Tom and Jerry.
