you are perfectly fine to go out and walk alone in SaudiArabia.. I do... I am Saudi-American.. I personally love to just take nice quiet walk along the corniche (beach front drive)... I live on the east coastal side of Saudi where the persian gulf is.. Our town (and most larger towns) developed the coastline, there are nice parks and walkways and sidewalks where anyone is welcome to walk miles up and down the sea front. Families, kids, singles anyone.. No one bothers you.. Sure there is always the odd ball who might stare, but its the same the world over.. For the most part, people are respectful and dont bother anyone. I love to get my exersize that way in the cooler months.. In high summer, I walk through the malls for exersize.. |

Yes of course women can go out alone, but most people just like to go out with other people. The only problem with it is that predatory men see solo women as potential rape victims, thats unfortunate but true. |

Yes she is allowed to go out alone.
Is it advisable? Again, depends which part of KSA are we talking about. In Mecca you can walk alone anytime day or night, In Jeddah the corniche is a beautiful place to have a walk, Riyadh main streets and not so late.
Where do you live? |

Well some of you may not like my answer but here goes. Many Western women who worked in Saudi told me that they were harassed when walking alone by Saudi men. This is the truth, accept it or not. |

it depends on which city you are in .. coz some cities have really restricted traditions .. they wouldn't only find it weird some might actually bother you or take a wrong impression about you ...
like for example in the small towns !!
but in some other big cities lets say jeddah for example its ok to go out alone .. of course not late at night because its normally that you might be risking your self .. but you can go out alone for a walk .. there several of places where ppl go and walk and you can c many women all by theirselves :) ..
you might get stared but who cares !! ..
and no its not against islam !! in islam its wrong for a girl and a guy to sit alone together if he is not related to her ( mahram ) .. |

Yes, woman is allowed to walk alone.
But to prevent harrasment from men and, of course, the worst is from religion policemen, you'd better not to walk alone. |

in Islam a woman may not go out alone. she must be with a maharam(a male relative ie husband son or other blood relation.) however Allah is most forgiving. ps unsure about in S.A. however since they are a muslim country, you need to find out if they follow sharieh (spelling) law. Islamic law. it is good to know the culture as well. |

A woman is not allowed outside without her mahram(husband, father, brother, son, father in law) in Islam because this is to protect the women from getting raped and from herself and the world. If a woman wants to go outside she can ask one of her mahrams to take her somewhere and also the Muttawa can pick a lone woman up if they catch you walking outside by yourself. Now if your in a village you can walk around outside by yourself and the Muttawa won't catch you because they are mainly in the cities. Or they can go visit other women as long as they have the permission of their husband or father and their mahram will drop them off and pick them up. If a woman is not married and her father is still alive she needs permission to go outside. If a woman is orphan she can go outside by herself but no interacting with the opposite sex. |

You cant leave the country alone, however.
Nor can you go to Mecca, if your a non-moslem and most people will refer to you as KAfir(un-believer) I think we should refer to moslems as heretics and ban them from NYC and Vegas. |

Don't worry, you're in America, the greatest country in the world! Of course you can walk by yourself, as well as with a group, whenever you please at any time! |
