I've given a lot of my love without return in the past .. it's a good feeling when you start ... then it changes and you start feeling empty inside since this source is not being nourished ...
as for the receiving part ... if they're only loved and don't share those feelings ... then sure at first they're flattered ... then it starts becoming irritating (feeling stalked) esp. if they made it clear they don't love you in return ...

I guess the best is to love and be loved ...

Being in love is an emotion that fades after a while, and you get a deeper REAL love. There are different kinds of love, You will not have butterflies forever but just because the butterflies fade that does not mean that you don't care for that person even more. Love grows deeper every day so it's better to be loved.;)

Of course it is a wonderful feeling to be loved, but it doesn't mean much if you don't love that person in return.

Same thing with loving someone...it is only wonderful when they love you back, so I don't think that one is better than the other, because without BOTH, neither one really mean anything...

i would have to save "be in love"
because if you have a relatioship with someonee weather its frienship or even more than that ; your in love with that person. so if your loved and you dont love them back its nothing. but if you both love eachother then your in lovee.
