Only for pregnant women...that can be normal.
I was always sleepy when was pregnant. (many years ago)
But now if i stay more than 8 hours in bed is only bcoz i'm lazy |

thats what happens when u over sleep
over sleepign and under sleeping both lead to feeling tired after waking up so yes it is normal for u to feel that way however i dont recommend over sleeping that much because as under sleeping is harmful to health so is over sleeping
i suggest cut back 3 hours and u'd be sleeping th perfect amount |

Yep :-) slept about 13hours the other day!
In some cases its just a matter of being exhausted; in other cases its that you manage to enter into a second sleep-cycle...but sleeping odd hours throws your REM way off...so you don't wake rested at all..
On the other hand, have you considered getting checked up for Hypothyroidism? That's why I can hibernate for over 12hours easily without waking up... |

it's called being overtired :-)
it has something to do with your sleep stages
it is very possible to go through two sleep cycles over night |

It's totally normal! The thing is, is that your sleep cycle isnt even. So sleeping for 8 hours and waking up then you would feel very refreshed. But since you slept for 10 hours your body was going into its 3rd sleep cycle so it wants to naturally finish it. If you fall asleep at 10:00pm and woke up at 6 you would be VERY refreshed. (that what i do for school cause then Im very awake at school) but if I woke up at 6:30 then i want to sleep more and im really tired. Get it? |

In my opinion, the more you sleep, the more lethargic you become. The meaning the word ; is as states(lethargy):morbid,drowsiness;profo... sleep:dullness...and I am throwing in bored and or possible depression. take care of your-self get more exercises, do yoga. However try to.have leverage in your life. |

If you sleep for 10 hours, you will want to sleep more as you have overslept and will feel lethargic, maybe you are a little depressed? Try to sleep for 8 hours, go to bed really early and get up really early too, then eat, exercise, get in to the fresh air even if it's cold, I walk and it lifts the mood and blows away the need for your comfy bed :) |

No, that's not normal. Excessive sleeping is a sleeping disorder and can be a sign of depression, chronic fatique syndrome, or a variety of other illnesses, physical or psychological. See your doctor. |

Too much sleep can ironically, leave you feeling very tired, but if you've been overdoing it lately, you could well end up sleeping like that.
If it persists like that, you would do well to see the doctor.
Welcome to the world of getting older. |
