We really have to look at the good sides of each other. We have to be able to seperate religion from politics.
Why don't we love each other and be friends, this will definetly be the start of a peaceful world. It starts with civilians not politicians

Take a walk up Avenue Rd. in Toronto Canada (its a long road with many synogogs) You will find one kosher shop, and its neighbor is a halal shop, then you will find 2 kosher shops, and 2 halal shops ect. It used to be a mainly Jewish area, but together there muslims and Jews sit and enjoy coffee and conversation, I'm sure in other countries as well. Why? Maybe the system? Maybe less tension? Maybe the fact that all have equal rights and no one is oppressed? I understand your idea about the ME, maybe its hard for a Muslim to teach their children to love, when everyday they see people getting killed. Maybe its also hard for an Israeli to teach their children to love when rockets keep landing on their heads. It is food for thought however. Peace!

I'm a proud Muslim, I don’t and wouldn't hate a Jewish person or anyone else based on their religion. I only base my dislikes according to their personality. I think that you would find most Muslims like that, because Islam teaches us tolerance towards other people and their religions. Allah dislikes transgressors. Peace.

Yes it's possible but arab countries will have to stop teaching their children to hate the jews ''because of israel'', and I'm not sure if there is a similar hatred for arabs by the Jewish / Israeli people but I would assume so... CMON Jews / Muslims you're making the Christians look like the Good Guys here !! lool

Jews and Muslims CAN and DO become friends and live together in peace. Again, I would suggest people look for some of MIMI's posts, she gives some great examples of this!

I think the problem is that Muslims and Jews tend to demonize each other, and forget that we have so much in common. Unfortunately, in many Arab countries there is a lot of anti Jewish propoganda; I have seen it and it's awful. And on Palestinian TV they are currently showing some wickedly anti Jewish programmes. This has to stop.

You don't find this kind of thing on Israeli TV. But I agree that Jewish parents all over the world need to encourage their children to befriend others of all faiths, and to remind them that Muslims and Jews can be great friends.

What's lovely about this forum is that while we all argue and debate and usually disagree about politics and the Middle East etc, we for the most part still show respect and we can also all enjoy a laugh together!

We CAN get on; we all have to want it enough. And we have to ignore the extremists on both sides who always try and destroy any effort towards peace.

I know many Muslims and Jews are already friends here in USA...And I am happy for that....The new generation is a little bit away from religion...But it is difficult to be friends back home where they are fighting for the land....The hatred is inherited generation by generation, and nobody can forget the damage that occurred for both...I wish that a miracle can happen and they stop fighting...Enough blood!!!

Well I'm not really familiar with the Jewish-Muslim situation, but I must throw out there that things Do change. African Americans are no longer slaves. Earth isn't the only planet we've stepped foot on. Rocks on sticks are no longer the deadliest thing to watch for.

Of course I am too old to ask for my mom's approval (and please do not ask me how OLD I am...lol) but then my mom happens to know my friend, and she happens to love her too.

All over the world this exists. Unfortunately the situation in Palestine is a bit unique. Muslims and Jews have lived side by side for centuries without issue.

I have no idea what you are talking about. My parents never discouraged me from having Muslim friends and in fact my chapter of AEPi (a Jewish Fraternity) even had some brothers (members) who were Muslims. I think the whole premise your question is based upon is false.

Anything is possible, but not always likely. Unfortunate as that may be. The continued teaching of distrust for other races, and lack of respect for their beliefs, will be an ongoing problem. Lack of education is the major factor that will hinder cooperation between races. One can only try though...one person at a time.

it's a wonderful idea but i don't know if it's doable! the first thing that must be done is not to like each other - is to respect each other!

It is possible to be different, to stay different and to respect those differences. I know a number of Muslims, have been friendly with many over the years, but have no interest in seeing relatives marry them.. nor vice versa.

In the end, we accept that we have HUGE differences between us, but we focus on what we have in common.

That said, we once agreed that there was no way that any of us could become "boyfriend/girlfriend" with a member of the opposite sex of the opposite religion. The differences in so many things that are important to us are too vast for them to be bridged. Even some ephemeral love that could develop would end up melting away soon enough.

We don't have to hate.. but we are different. That's something for each side to be proud of.
