well, i think it is. i have been there more than twice. and i am also palestinian, born and raised in the u.s. i have american passport. and then some family member of mine decided to make us palestinian passports. and i still go there and come back. usually, we go to jordan then palestine, only because it is easier to get there.

it is safe, but they give u a hard time, they make you wait on line forever. and sometimes they are rude. but, overall...safe

EDIT:
dont listen to all those yahood that answered your question. ask someone who has been there...i have been there and more than once. inshalla you will be fine...just avoid the jew-populated areas. where in palestine is your family???

EDIT AGAIN:
aha, ramallah.....beautiful area. you will be fine. absolutely fine

hope you a safe trip
i understand that you are going via tel aviv
you should understand that you must first reach Jerusalem
there is no direct transportation from airport to Ramallah
once you are in Jerusalem you are in Ramallah
there is no such a problem of stamping your passport with a Palestinian stamp there is no such international borders between jerusalem and Ramallah there is a bus rout between Jerusalem and Ramallah it is the easiest the simplest way to go to Ramallah
just notice this is not a 24 hours service arriving too early in the morning or too late in the night would cost you an overnight sleep in an hotel
your family can not receive you in the airport so depend on your big Palestinian family to receive you
for any help you will find plenty who are ready to do that including me
do not hesitate to ask

I don't live there, but from what i've heard, you should avoid the settlers, and you will be ok inshALLAH

It is currently impossible to travel into or out of the Gaza, but the Palestinian Territories in the West Bank are accessible, although I would recommend entering via Jordan. Palestinian life is cheap, however; any so-called "settler" can kill a Pal at will and the police do nothing. I would recommend keeping your U.S. I.D. with you at all times, avoid traveling alone and avoid traveling at night altogether,if at all possible. I don't want to alarm you but the WB is a police state and the occupation authorities are extremely brutal. Avoid contact with any and all zionists and their neighborhoods. It's a lot like a visit to Germany circa 1938: exercise caution and avoid Nazis and you could still actually have a good time. But watch yourself very, very closely. I hope all goes well and the wedding is a successful celebration of the fact that even under the worst oppression life for the Palestinian people still goes on and happiness can still exist. May your uncle and wife have a long and happy marriage with plenty of children. And may you have a good visit and return to us here in the States in a normal condition.

i live in Palestine, and had some american-palestinian in-laws visit in the summer.they faced difficulties upon arrival at ben-gurion airport, they were detained for two hours and questioned extensively, they had the foresight to bring their U.S. birth certificates with them,as the israelis are extremely reluctant to allow anyone through ben-gurion who was actually born in palestine, even if they have U.S. citizenship.if you can prove you are born in the U.S. then there shouldnt be too much of a problem.

It is safe to go to Israel
It is less safe to go to Palestine
But not dangerous

You should expect some hostility from some of the Israelis
I don't say they will all treat you bad

But you will probably have some harassment from the Israeli security forces. But I don’t think that normal Israeli citizens will do you any thing bad, maybe just be insulting.

It is safe. But in Palestine stay away from the settles, they are crazy.

Have a nice trip

You will be just as safe in Palestine as you would be in Israel. Theres no real difference, just in palestine you have a better chance of getting shot by israeli militia

If you look like an arab then the jews won't treat you fine, even if you have an american passport. And i dont think it will be safe, cause jewish soldiers have this habits of aiming rockets at Palestine for no good reason. Inshallah you'll be safe there.

you're not going to jordan, which is the real arab palestine.

you're not going to israel, which is a safe democracy that would remind you very much of the USA.

you're going to the west bank or gaza? lol. good luck. and congratulations to your uncle.

Pretty (smart) lady
West bank has been relatively quite for a few months now, the Gaza is unsafe ground, traveling inside Israel is very safe, Israelis (as I've experienced) treat you well, as an American I've traveled to the gaza and the west bank, but that was 4 years ago, I was treated with much suspicion by both sides, but felt much safer in Israel.
BTW, you might encounter some problems upon entering the USA, a Palestine stamp in your passport is a red light to all security personal.

"is it safe to travel to Palestine?"

Since there is no internationally recognized people or land known as "Palestine" I must ask, exactly whre are you going? Israel? Jordan? Remember, Palestine and the so-called Palestinian people were a political entity created in 1967 exclusively to destroy Israel. So where are you going again?

You will most likely fly into Israel's Ben Gurion International Airport. From there if you are going to the Palestinian territory of the West Bank you shouldn't have a problem at all. If however you are going to the terrorist run Gaza Strip, be real careful. Remember, you are an American.

Do you mean you can have an American Passport without having the Citizenship??!
Please explain that to me!
Thanks!
