Israel is the only country in the world that still practices apartheid

naserq22
believe it it is true
i bring you some facts may help in making up your mind
during 1967 war there was the jordanian army in the west bank this army has left to the east bank of jordan 2-3 days before the war(??)
some refugees who lived in camps fled from war to jordan they can not come back
mostly all those who were out hardly few of them were allowed to come back
if we say that is history so here what is going on now
walls around jerusalem to keep all the west bank un able of even praying in aqsa mosque
that the citizens of people in east jerusalem have a similar color of ID the same as Israeli but not with the same actual rights
to a palestinian married to a girl from west bank she is not allowed to live with him"human rights agencies have loads of claims for humanitarian cases
her family never allowed to visit her
cost of living is so high that Young can not afford so the way to cross out is always open to live in west bank were living costs are moderate
for kids their parents are mix(west bank xeast jerusalem)their kids are not allowed to municipality schools
palestinian girls(inside green line) married to palistinians from west bank there is a law now forbid giving them any identity

Yes,unless born there into a minority group.

Yes,if you are talking immigration. Only jews may migrate to Palestine. There are however Arabic-speaking Christians whose families accepted citizenship in the U.S-sponsored zionist puppet regime and their offspring are born into citizenship,albeit of a second-class character; they cannot for example serve in the armed forces so they do not receive retirement benefits,which are linked to military service. Your teacher was telling you the truth: only jews may immigrate to the Holy Land as long as it is under occupation. But the jewish respondents are technically correct; again,there are Palestinians who hold citizenship. But they were born there. No Christian or Muslim would be permitted to immigrate and become a citizenship by any means other than conversion to judaism.

The question referred to "becoming" a citizen of the apartheid state,not to persons born there. Christians and Muslims not born there are indeed permitted to apply,and it is indeed a "lengthy process". Apply all you like. It won't do you any good.

One Majnoona
No, your teacher is wrong. What she probably meant was that only Jews or their relatives have a right to get a citizenship whenever they want no questions asked, non Jews can get citizenship too but they have to go through the normal process just as in any other country. 20-25% of Israeli citizens are non Jews.

75.6 percent are Jewish (5.472 million), 20% are Arab (1.449 million) and 4.4% (320,000) are 'others' - immigrants who are not registered as Jews in the Interior Ministry, non-Arab Christians and residents without religious classification

Your teacher lied to you.

No. You are just thinking about the law of return. That just states that if you are Jewish, you can gain Israeli citizenship much easier. The other ways people can gain Israeli citizenship is if they marry an Israeli and go through the naturalization process, or other methods of naturalization. It is more strict than America in the regards that in America, we allow people who are born here to stay here and automatically be citizens. However, we are more strict, in that we don't allow all people of a certian religious background to come here and have citizenship relatively easily.

Israel is just the same as most other countries in that most countries, don't just let anybody move there and never leave. There are rules and regulations about it. It would actually probably be easier to get Israeli citizenship than trying in many other countries. You can always join their army and gain citizenship that way. That is also a method of gaining citizenship in the US.

no anyone can become a naturalized citizen by living there for a certain amount of years Jews just get automatic citizenship when they move to Israel

1 in 6 Israeli citizens isn't Jewish, there are even non-Jewish members of the Israeli Parliament.

peace lover
nope.
first of all, everyone born in israel is a citizen, and everyone who decided to stay in 1948 became citizens, regardless of religion.
there are over 1.2 million arab (non-jewish) citizens of israel.

if you're asking about immigration, that's a different question. every country restricts who can immigrate, and many countries allow their own people back in when they are coming from another country. if your grandfather was german, you can move to germany. but that has nothing to do with citizenship.

I hope she isn't a Jewish culture or Israeli cultures teacher because she doesnt know her job if that is. But all peoples can become a citizen of a country with the correct items. Its against Human rights if i am not mistaken to deny a person citizenship because of your religion. But there is a sizeable Armenian and Christian quater in Israel. Have you heard of the Muslim quarter in Israel? That shows anyone can become a citizen in Israel. But Jews are entitled the Law of Return that is in the Torah that talks about how Gd gave this land to Jews. But because Israel doesnt use Gds law then all are welcome. Ok? If you have more questions please messge me.

Israel is less than 80% Jewish. There are Christians and Muslims that have been citizens all their lives. Pagans too.
Israel's immigration policy is very similar to the US. Anyone can apply. some are accepted and some aren't.
Your teacher needs to stop teaching antisemitism in the school. I'd ask for another.
Her name wouldn't be Maya would it.

No; the law says that people of Jewish ancestry are given FIRST PRIORITY, and if you can prove your ancestry, you are a citizen just from getting off the plane actually.

Anyone can be a citizen of Israel if they wish, but, the application process is extensive and all that. The criticism on the part of Arabs, is that people are given Jewish citizenship if "my grandfather's fourth cousin on my mother's aunt's side was Jewish." If that is your jewish heritage, then you are a citizen of Israel.

What you need to understand, and what many fail to understand, is that the middle east within the Arabian peninsula and the levant areas has always had scarce resources, so what few resources there are are "kept in the family," e.g., the given Arab tribe.

Arab tribalism, in this era of larger populations, is the root of their prejudice against Jews, not Islam. If Arabs owned ALL of Israel, it wouldn't be long before some other Arab country began attacking THEM. That, I can guarantee.

Arab tribalist rules, if I can find words to describe them, I would described as;

"savagery and selfishness disguised under the veneer of good manners."

If I had to describe the negative aspects of the Arabs in one sentence, that would be it right there. The same can be said of western society actually, especially of law enforcement and FBI. Hell, the FBI, CIA and Al-Qaeda were all made for one another, as they are all of a like nature.

The FBI under Hoover has used terror tactics, only instead of blowing people up, against family members of criminals, family, who commited no crimes, they used harassment and intimidation tactics guestapo style. In fact the Nazi guestapo learned all their tricks from the FBI; they were not invented in Germany, this is something Herman Goering infamously pointed out at Nuremberg. In fact, the head of the Guestapo frequently expressed admiration for the FBI.

I overanswered though; Arab tribalism will make it, so that even with Hebrew blood Iraqi Jews, and with a slim chance Saudis Hebrews reconvert to Judaism, that nothing will ever satisfy them.

The only thing that will bring peace in the middle east, or rather things, true, lasting peace, are these two things;

1) Israel has to be completely green, from the Negev, to the border of Lebanon. If more can be learned about Tesla's technology and its ability to exploit the earth's magnetic field, something GM or I forget what oil or car company is only getting around to doing, its possible, through the building of artifical "man made" mountains. You build a mountain, you have a source for a river, if you build it high enough, a single mountain built in the negev, would provide fresh water for the whole of Israel.

2) The Arabs would have to be exposed; if they can be caught, regarding their true feelings about Jews, and filmed in all their prejudiced glory, and then that film was shown to the whole world, it would be the end of that. Martin Luther King exposed white cowardice to the world, when cops reacted violently to his peaceful marches. Ghandi exposed British barbarism to the world when he did what King did, years before in fact, Ghandi is the man King got the idea from. The only way to stop Arab violence, is by exposing the Arabs, in a moment where they show their true colors, their real feelings about the Jews, filming it, and showing it to all the world. The reason it has been more difficult to do, is because;

1) Ashkenazi Jews, and Israel, are turds themselves, just as turdish as the Arabs, so as far as the world is concerned its two turds being turds against each other, so no one cares.

2) The Arabs are way, WAY too good, at, what else, charm and good manners. In fact I think not even the Japanese have such a refined sense of etiquette. Arab culture has refined manners, because of intertribal war. In fact I have always thought this much about a culture "show me how extensive a culture's etiquete is, and I will tell you how warlike they are." Good manners, highly refined manners, are a sign of a violent, warlike past, when you think about it. The idea, to expose the Arabs, is to do it James Bond style; Bond is admired, because of the subtle ways he insults his enemies to expose them.

If Israel wishes to do the same with the Arabs then perhaps they should study James Bond more closely. Not a very nice thing to do but hey, Bond gets the job done.

later.

It's not true, you can become citizen if your a non-jew you just have to go through the normal process like you would when getting citizenship in any other country. However Jews can automatically get accepted citizenship and don't have to go through the process or testing. Here is a site from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign affairs. Read it carefully.
