There are anything up to 80 people murdered evry day and a woman gets raped every 3 minutes so getting "only" mugged would be a blessing for most South Africans. The place is a crime infested toilet that bears no resemblance to any civilised Country and is probably more akin to a War Zone.

It is ture that there are muggings in SA every day, but it's like that in a First world country like USA too.

If you (one person) get mugged every day, then you must the dumbest person alive. When you get mugged once, you tend to be more aware of what's going around you & spot these muggers before you get into that situation... AGAIN

No...i lived in south africa for 8 years, and i never got mugged, except my house got robed wen we just arrived cause we didnt hav an alarm yet....it also depends a lot on wer u live in south africa

Well I was mugged and that was once too many - BUT that happened once in 44 years. So using my experience you have about a 1 in 16 060 of getting mugged. (You have a bigger chance of being involved in a car crash or many other unpleasant things)

No, but then again it all depends in which area you are or live. If it's in a poor area, there is a possibility of that happening. If you make sure of where you go and if you take precautions then you won't get robbed at all. Like for instance keeping your purse in front of you and avoiding deserted area's and stuff and noticing your surroundings..
