Yes, because Israel does not and will not stand behind any peace deal and I don't think there can ever be an agreement on Jerusalem.
There is also no true representation of the Philistine's because if a group made a deal another group would so they don't recognize the agreement.

working towards peace and betterment for all isnt a waste of time, u should rethink ur question, secondly, plz stop spreading ur hate about Islam, its a beautiful religion, learn it from the quran, not from muslims

I think that it is near , but it will take a total world, community intervention to make it work.

not necessarily trying is a great step

I have seen similar things before. Its not a waste of time to try to make peace with the Palestinians - the reality is that it is just a tough battle, but peace is never a waste of time.

Good Luck!!!

In your opinion yes! Cheers!

Please remember that, after all, we (Israelis) and the Palestinians want the SAME THING; we want our children to be brought up safe, healthy, and happy.
Thus, one day peace will be achieved.
Trying to make peace is NOT a waste of time.
I bet if the Palestinians were not living under such horrible conditions, if they were not treated so horribly, they would be much more positive, content, agreeable, and compromising.
Wouldn't you??????

Mimi- ميمي - מימי
Talking with the Israelis and trying to make peace with them is a waste of time. We all know that the Israelis never keep a promise and they don't want peace. They just want more land and we know at the end they will do whatever they want as long as their as's kissers (the americans) support them.

Making peace is very important and it is possible if the Israelis negotiate with fatah but with hamas I doubt it.

As for the video you posted. That pig is christian zionist and a lier. There was a question about walid about two weeks ago and he was proved to be a big lier and fabricator.

How can working towards peace ever be a bad thing, or a waste of time?

What is the alternative? Decades more of bloodshed and Israeli and Palestinian mothers weeping over the deaths of their children?

We always have to try for a real and lasting peace. Just so long as Israel's security is never compromised.

solomon
If you consider,Israel also has a nuclear weapon, remember, they stole it from the United States..What really are the alternatives.. Ignore it all, and watch the united nations and the far east implode, thru nuclear destruction?? Allow all nations to posses nuclear weapons ,without any constraints?? Once all nations poses nuclear capabilities, wait for the terrorists of fanatical religions or other groups who wish the destruction of Israel and the WEST to act on their goals?? As long as an open venue exists for peace negotiations, and as long as the West, polices the nuclear weaponry situations in the world, TOTAL DESTRUCTION can be 'checked'!! To say, its hopeless and peace is a waste of time, creates a marketplace for the destruction of the world ,and the annihilation of the human race.. WE MUST KEEP TRYING!!! SOLOMON

It is a total waste of time. The Palestinians do not want peace. They hate Israel and hate Jews. They want to eradicate us. You cannot make peace with a people who have, as their primary though perhaps unspoken agenda, the eradication of the Jewish race.
Total waste of time, money and Jewish blood.
I don't know when we will ever learn. A Jew and Israel in general can't make peace with a Muslim because the Muslim/Arab doesn't want it.

it's never a waste of time to seek peace.

I honestly don't know! I don't know when this going to end and HOW! I really want them to leave us alone. just live your life. ENOUGH!! Israel exists! it will never change! move on.

tshnobodysfool
How can making peace be a waste of time? It's not. The problem is the Israelies and Palestinians at the table are acting like retards. Who make demands before a negotiation can even begin? Obviously, they have problems which is why they need an agreement - you don't make demands to solve all the problems before the negotiation begins to resolve them. Someone needs to pull their baby bottles out of their mouths, kick their diapered butts, and sit them down at a table together - then make them stay there until they agree on a total package.

Someone is going to get fed up, and take control of the situation for them and impose something none of them want - mark my words - it's only a matter of time. At least the Romans kept the peace and didn't put up with the BS. Yes - I'm implying all of that - and then some.

Maya
Probably not,for the Palestinians. There has never been any indication that the jews are serious about sharing anything. But I will say this. The Palestinians are not going to go away, and U.S. support for the occupation will not sustain itself indefinately. No one is "persecuting" jews in the U.S.,the U.K.,Canada or Australia. They have plenty of places to live. And I would recommend these arrogant people think about other possibilities, because I don't think you're little kingdom is meant to last. I heard about the two boys shot to death in retaliation for a homemade rocket killing two jewish-owned cows. Nice people. Shalom, baby. No,I don't think there is any point in talking. Our policy in WWII toward the fascists was: non-negotioable surrender. The Arabs should take the same position.

MBC
I unfortunately spent 20 minutes of my time watching these videos, Firstly, you should know that this man is a liar. I heard him claim in the video that he planted a bomb in a bank. In another video he says that he was going to plant a bomb in a bank, but didn't. On yet a third video, he claims he not only put the bomb in the bank, but heard it explode as he left the scene.

He is introduced as a former terrorist, "schooled in Islamic theology", and yet he was supposedly a member of the PLO which had no claims to be an Islamic movement. Furthermore, on one video he says that he always went to Christian schools. His mother was a Christian, and yet he claims his first introduction to the Bible, according to the present video, was well into his adult years. Funny, but I thought you would atleast learn something about Christianity and the Bible in 12 years of Christian education!

The most troubling part of the video is when he starts giving fatwas (Islamic legal rulings) as though he is educated in Islam. He claims that Muslims may break their treaties, and indeed, any agreements they make with non-Muslims. He is an outrageous liar! He sites the example of his own father practicing this idea on him. Well, if Walid Shoebat's father believes it, then it must be so! (sigh)

Here is what the Quran, not an apostate believer in a man-God, has to say about keeping treaties with non-Muslims:

Allah says: "There is a declaration of immunity from Allah and His Messenger to those of the pagans with whom you have contracted mutual alliances. Go then, for four months, to and fro throughout the land. But know that you cannot frustrate Allah that Allah will cover with shame those who reject Him.” [Surah al-Tawbah: 1-2]

In these verses we see that the pagans were granted a four month amnesty with an indication that when the four months were over, fighting would resume. However, a following verse exempts some of them from the resumption of hostilities. It reads:
“Except for those pagans with whom you have entered into a covenant and who then do not break their covenant at all nor aided anyone against you. So fulfill your engagements with them until the end of their term, for Allah loves the righteous.” [Surah al-Tawbah: 9:4]

So when Allah says:
“But when the forbidden months are past, then fight the pagans wherever you find them, and seize them and beleaguer them and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)”, we must know that it is not general, since the verse above has qualified it to refer to the pagan Arabs who were actually at war with the Prophet (peace be upon him) and those who broke their covenants of peace.

This is further emphasized by a few verses later where Allah says: “Will you not fight people who broke their covenants and plotted to expel the Messenger and attacked you first?” [Surah al-Tawbah: 9:13]

Ibn al-Arabi, in his commentary on the Quran, writes: “It is clear from this that the meaning of this verse is to kill the pagans who are waging war against you.” [Ahkam al-Quran: (2/456)]

Allah also says right after the verse under discussion:
“How can there be a covenant before Allah and His Messenger with the pagans except those with whom you have made a treaty near the Sacred Mosque? As long as they stand true to you, stand true to them, for Allah does love the righteous.” [Surah al-Tawbah: 9:7]

http://islamtomorrow.com/kill.asp

It is our sacred obligation to hold true to our peace treaties, provided the other side does not break them first.

This man has an agenda, and it is the agenda of the Christian zionists which is to bring war to the Holy Land. This is what they believe will happen according to their Book of Revelation and they are doing their best to make it so. Please do not be deceived by them for to do so means disaster for all of the people of the region.

Here are the videos which I refer to in my answer:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walid_Shoebat

http://youtube.com/watch?v=1RehZY6tHcA

EDIT: He refers also to the Muslim need to prove Jews have fabricated the Bible by taking the land back from them. What? I've never even heard a radical, hate-spewing Palestinian sheikh say that! Our grievence with Israel is fundamentally political, not religious. We are commanded to fight those who abuse us and turn is out of our homes. That is what is at issue here. I will concede that this original pure and honorable support for the Palestinians who lost their lands has in some cases turned into generalized anti-semitism, but that is not the truly Islamic perspective on the matter. The Quran says:

60:8
Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just.

60:9
Allah only forbids you, with regard to those who fight you for (your) Faith, and drive you out of your homes, and support (others) in driving you out, from turning to them (for friendship and protection). It is such as turn to them (in these circumstances), that do wrong.

50 Signs of the Day of Judgment From the Words of Allah and His Messenger (sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam)
Dr. Suhaib Hasan

From a lecture at Cambridge University
Islamic Society, Shawwal 1420 / January 2000.

The Signs are listed in roughly chronological order, although the order is not necessarily precise, especially for those in the future.

This is a brief summary of the signs; there are many books, articles, cassettes etc. which discuss these in greater detail. May Allah enable us to recognise and heed the Signs, and strengthen us in the times of tribulation.

"Are they waiting for anything except the Hour, to come to them suddenly? But its Signs have already come!" (Al-Qur’an, Surah Muhammad)

Past

1. Splitting of the Moon.

2. Death of the Prophet Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

3. A form of death which will kill thousands of Muslims. (Understood to refer to the plague of Amwas during the
caliphate of ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab.)

4. A major fighting in Madinah (understood to refer to the battle of al-Harrah during the caliphate of Yazid, 63 AH).

5. The Muslim conquest of Jerusalem.

6. The Muslim conquest of Constantinople.

7. Two large groups of Muslims will fight in war.

8. A war between the Muslims and a reddish people with small eyes, wearing sandals made of hair (understood to refer to
the Mongol Tatar invasion of the Islamic lands.)

9. A peace agreement between the Muslims and non-Muslims from the yellow race (Chinese, Mongols, etc.)

10. Thirty impostors (dajjal) will appear, each thinking he is a prophet.

Present?

11. Naked, destitute, barefoot shepherds will compete in building tall buildings.

12. The slave-woman will give birth to her master or mistress.

13. A trial (fitnah) which will enter every Arab household.

14. Knowledge will be taken away (by the death of people of knowledge), and ignorance will prevail.

15. Wine (intoxicants, alcohol) will be drunk in great quantities.

16. Illegal sexual intercourse will become widespread.

17. Earthquakes will increase.

18. Time will pass more quickly.

19. Tribulations (fitan) will prevail.

20. Bloodshed will increase.

21. A man will pass by the grave of another and wish he was in the latter’s place.

22. Trustworthiness will be lost, i.e. when authority is given to those who do not deserve it.

23. People will gather for prayer, but will be unable to find an imam to lead them.

Future

24. The number of men will decrease, whilst the number of women will increase, until for every man there are 50 women.

25. The Euphrates will reveal a treasure of gold, and many will die fighting over it, each one hoping to be the one who gains
the treasure.

26. The Romans (Europeans) will come to a place called A’maq or Wabiq, and an army of the best people will go forth from Madinah to face them.

27. The Muslim conquest of Rome.

28. The Mahdi (guided one) will appear, and be the Imam of the Muslims.

29. Jesus Christ will descend in Damascus, and pray behind the Mahdi.

30. Jesus will break the cross and kill the swine, i.e. destroy the false christianity.

31. The Antichrist (al-masih al-dajjal, the false christ) will appear, with all his tools of deception, and be an immense trial. He will be followed by 70,000 Jews from Isfahan (present-day Iran).

32. The appearance of Ya’juj and Ma’juj (Gog and Magog), and the associated tribulations.

33. The emergence of the Beast from the Earth, carrying the Staff of Moses and the Seal of Solomon, who will speak to the people, telling them they did not believe with certainty in the Divine Signs.

34. A major war between the Muslims (including Jews and Christians who truly believe in Jesus after his return) led by the Imam Mahdi, and the Jews plus other non-Muslims led by the Antichrist.

35. Jesus will kill the Antichrist at the gate of Ludd (Lod in present-day Israel, site of an airport and a major Israeli military base).

36. A time of great peace and serenity during and after the remaining lifetime of Jesus.

37. Wealth will come so abundant that it will become difficult to find someone to accept charity.

38. Arabia will become a land of gardens and rivers.

39. Society will then decay.

40. The buttocks of the women of the tribe of Daws will again sway in circumambulation (tawaf) around the idol Dhul-Khulsah.

41. A great fire in the Hijaz, seen by the inhabitants of Busra.

42. Three major armies will sink into the earth: one in the east, one in the west, one in Arabia.

43. An Abyssinian leader with thin shins will destroy the Ka’bah.

44. The huge cloud of smoke.

45. The sun will rise from the west (its place of setting).

46. A gentle wind which will take the souls of the believers.

47. There is no-one left on the earth saying, "Allah, Allah" or "There is no god except Allah."

48. Eventually the Day of Judgment is established upon the worst of the people, who copulate like donkeys in public.

49. The blowing in the Trumpet by the Angel Israfil, upon which everyone will faint except as Allah wills.

50. The second blowing in the Trumpet, upon which everyone will be resurrected.

YES IT IS. they have never in all recorded history had any claim to ISRAEL or any other land.when the gaza strip was handed over to them they destroyed the infrestructer and burnt it all to hell ,instead of being good neighbours they fire drockets at innocent jews, all they know is hate and war and are two thick to change, all the weapons they use are surplied by oil rich arabs who could if they wished absorb all the lost moslems into their countrys and give them a better life ,but they choose to let them stay and cause unrest to anyone thats not a beleiver in islam.THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUE GOD, HIS NAME IS JESUS.

Wintergirl
Yes it's a waste of time to try because they only want to kill and obliterate Israel off the map. They don't want peace, they want death to anyone who has different beliefs than themselves. Any culture that celebrates the death of their children as "martyrs" for murdering others when they blow themselves up is pretty hopeless when it comes to trying to reach a peace agreement... The person below me is sadly mistaken... Palestinians do NOT want their children to be happy or put their children first. We do, so we assume they do also but that thinking is going to cause our downfall because we will trust them to much. They care more about their children being killing machines to kill us (Christians, Jews, Americans, Europeans, Canadians, Australians, etc) than anything else because Islam is not just their faith, it's their culture, they're very reason for being.

They are taught in Palestinian schools from the time they are small children to hate & kill, so until their culture is changed, there won't be any peace. How can there be with people who place no value on human life?
