Well last year over 9 million tourists visited South Africa, breaking all records of visitors to SA and with the world cup in 2010 it is estimated that over 10 million will visit. Furthermore the annual average tourist increase in SA is higher than the overall international average.

So I think it is fair to say that SA is a relatively good tourist attraction, we have great diversity in natural beauty, culture, cuisine, landscape and great tourist attractions like wildlife reserves, Cape Town, Table Mountain, Garden Route etc etc.

Sure our crime is a little on the high side and tourists need to take mostly common sense precautions but in my view definitely a good and relatively cheap tourist destination.

South Africa really is "A world in one country!" You must come. SA has wide open deserts, dense forests, cosmopolitan cities, "primitive" villages, 5 star hotels to shanties, beaches, wildlife parks, resorts, dozens of languages (11 of them are official) yet you would be able to communicate in English. Our exchange rate makes it cheap for visitors with $, â‚¬, Â£ or Â¥. You are welcome!

South Africa is a great place to visit especially in december coz it`s summer and the beaches are amazing the great places would be EAST LONDON,DURBAN,CAPE TOWN ,PORT ELIZABETH and PRETORIA and it`s just like any other countryyou are as exposed to diseases just as any other country ect UNITED STATES , AUSTRALIA.EUROPE JAPAN you can`t get diseases just coz you surrounded by a few people who are exposed to it coz not all south african have AIDS ,STDs and TB or CANCER i`m a south african and i`m as healthy as any other person out of africa people need to stop judging based on movies and campains to make money

Its a truly amazing country...full of diversity, and there is SOOOO much to see. . The people are friendly, food is wonderful, accommadation is great, and service is top rate. Also it is cheap, and will be an experience you won't forget !! Must see Kruger National Park, and Capetown, but there is much more than that.....GO SEE !!!

YES! It's an amazing place, and has so much to offer. Leaves the American restaurant industry a lot to be desired for one!

Actually, it is.
I have many friends from Africa who are foreign exchange students here.
I hear alot about it, I see pictures and last year they took me down there.
It was a lot of fun.
Just make sure, you take diarrhea pills to prevent it, bc going to a new country is harsh on your body so you have to take certain things.
But it's a lovly place and so fascinating.
