Its funny people want to say "oh this is an eye for an eye situation".

Take a look at the death toll on both sides and it paints a quite different picture. More like someone attacking you with a paintball gun and you retaliating with a bazooka. Its pretty lopsided.

Israel has the right to defend itself from rocket attacks.Hamas is not serious about peace as shown by them breaking the 6 month truce with something like 200 rockets and mortars aimed at Israeli border towns . Neither Israel or Hamas are not doing the right things to encourage peace.

Israel overall has shown restraint and I commend them on that but this recent attack and the possibility of more to come show that the Israeli government has gone way overboard in retaliating.

I hate that there is so much hate on both sides of this as seen in the other comments on this question. To solve this problem Hamas must stop rocket fire but also Israel must not give motivation for Hamas and other Islamists in Gaza to continue fighting.

Israel has this idea that "Bombs for peace" will work when it has proven (in this instance) that it only encourages more resentment and mobilization of Palestinians to fight.

Hamas is also in a backwards mindset- They are attempting to "logically" use terrorism (rocket fire and suicide bombings) to force the Israeli citizens to pressure their government into giving into their demands. ( Read The Strategic Logic of Suicide Terrorism) This clearly doesn't work with Israel as the government is hoping to discourage future attacks with devastating retaliation. Its a pretty messed up cycle.

Both sides should show restraint as their current methods have proven to only increase violence and work this out diplomatically. Either this or continue this conflict for another 100 years.

i love the state of israel.

it is a beautiful country full of culture and good people.

i do not think all jews are good, just like not all christians and muslims are good.

but i will say that i am against violence, on both sides, and in general.

so to everyone who says all jews are violent and want to fight, that is not true.

i hate war and violence.

Hamas wants to wipe Israel out, doesn't it? Palestinian terrorists glory in the defenseless innocence of the victims of suicide bombings. Yet they act outraged when Israel defends itself against this and attacks the terrorists hiding among the Palestinian population.
If Palestinians want peace with Israel, all they have to do is stop attacking Israel. And as for the Palestinians who support Hamas, they are indeed supporting the Party that wants to wipe Israel out. I don't want them all to die. Even Israel doesn't want them all to die. But how can there be peace when Israel wants peace and Hamas wants Israel dead?

If they weren't lopping rockets into Israel this would not be necessary. It requires more then Israel dreaming of peace it requires the Palestinians wanting it. Wake up and face reality, once the Palestinians genuinely want peace then there will be peace until then they will continue their terrorist activities and continue their propaganda machine against Israel "aggression" that has clearly sucked you in.

The price is small because of those killed 98% are terrorists from Hamas. This will save the lives of more Palestinians in the future as there will be less to fire rockets into Israel resulting inthis defensive action by Israel. Hopefully the Gaza people will wake up and kick out the Hamas murderers.
