I live in Eshowe and its snowed her once before I was around, but otherwise it just gets really really really cold, we get frost on our grass in the morning, thtas thick as ice cubes, but never snow. Its actually a suprise cause my town is situated on a mountain, and a small town down the road from us gets thick snow, you might remeber you got ten points for my question on Eshowe and you edit copy edit pated that long wikipedia thing, I dont know if you took time to read it, but that town named after sir alred melmoth or something, is that little town that gets really thick snow

Lets ask Alf, I think it is a plot by the government to freeze all non-govt supporters (or somnething!).

BUT its so damn pretty. Last time I saw it was in the Berg about 6 years ago, and before that in 1981.

It didn't snow where I stay, but when I got to work this morning I saw a car parked in our company's parking basement covered in snow!

It was the first time that me and a colleague of mine had seen snow so we had a snowball fight right there with some co-workers giving us funny looks :-)
But it was worth it, I wish it could snow where I stay!

Last time it snowed in South Africa was 1981. I was at Johannesburg train station. We made snowballs and threw them at each other.

It snowed last February in Weatherford, Oklahoma. (I was attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University at the time.) It was pretty much a blizzard. It shut the highway down in the evening, and the town during the day. Kinda boring.

Now it is summer with temps in the 80s and 90s, and we can't seem to get rid of the rain. We've had the same circulating low over our state for the past week.

Enjoy the white stuff! Throw a snowball for me, will ya?

moon you are correct in saying it snowed on the 9th of september 1981. that was my brother birth day and my mom baked him a snow cake the day before and when they woke up it was snowing. that was the last day my mom ever baked a snow cake.

Wow good question i will never forget the last time it snowed i was from S.A to New York from a vacation march 16 and it was really really snowing and i had to stay at JFK airport for 3 days because the flights were cancelled and i got to be on CNN news live i had an interview.IT WAS REALLY BAD and here in Boston it snows a lot and i dont like it girl enjoy the snow i also use to enjoy it when i was in S.A but now i dont look forward im just enjoying summer now

Yah, definitely snowing, can't believe it!! Woke up at around 2h30 to check!! Dogs was going crazy with excitement on the white grass, would like to know wtf they thought it was.

First time for me to experience this. My daughter couldn't wait to get outside this morning. Had my hands full trying to keep her in-house - she's got a bit of a cold, so I didn't want her to play with ice at 3h00 in the morning. I'm sure mommy would let her after daddy's gone work though.

The last time it snowed in Jo'burg, was 1982 I think. I was at school (second grade/Sub B) away from Jozi at the time.

Would have loved to done some down hill sliding, just a pity duty calls.

Correction, I see a lot of people saying 'IT NEVER SNOWS IN SA'. Where are they getting this info from? Drakensburg and Kokstad get snow every year! Why would Kokstad's roads be closed off each winter because of snow, if there wasn't any? Duh!

But yeah, it's nice to have it in Jozi as well.

The last time it snowed in Jhb. was on 9th Sept. 1981. It started snowing in Hillbrow at about 10:00am and snowed for most of the day. There were snowball fights on the pavements and people were bombarderlng the people in the streets from the tops of flats. Snow in spring in Hillbrow ( hard to believe but true)

PS - make the most of it - get sledging!!

(ie sit on something smooth at the top of the hill and slide all the way down on the snow, it's awesome)

Anyone got any ideas on what to use if you don't have sledges around? If so, tell our SA friend here, I want him to enjoy the snow as much as possible :))) yay for you!!

wow lucky! it's a little less than 100 here and i'm dying! last time it snowed was on march 29. i was getting ready for my high school banquet at my friend's house with a few other girls. we all had our strapless or halter dresses on with open toe heels, and we were feeezing! hahah it was a good time though=)

I was an idea the last time it snowed... (I'm in Joburg)...
I'm disappointed coz it looks like there was a series of weddings at every corner and white confetti was being thrown. Maybe I can build a finger sized snow man...sigh
