Possibly, when it was called Palestine, there were Jews living there already. Why not/??? |

I think your question is hepothetical one, because I don't think this will ever hapen. I can tell you that Jews lived in Holy Land under turkish rule and long ago under muslim rule. At times it was OK at times Jews were persecuted by arabs. But that how it was. |

For the most part, Moors were not Arab.
Jews have gotten along OK in Islamic countries in the past (Spain,Turkey, Azerbaijan) but never in an Arab country. |

No all would not live under Arab Rule but they expect Arabs to live under Jewish Rule. When will 50/50 come? Peace!
Anita: your talking about Saudi Arabia. |

Arabs have control of some parts in Israel and people live there anyway so that awnsers your question |

That would be an interesting thing, considering there are many Jews living in Arab countries under Arab rule already.
If they can handle it, then so can I. |

absolutely......on condition that we would not be treated worse than the israeli arabs are being treated . |

No, because I would likely be forbidden to visit my religion's most holy sites. They would probably be desecrated on a daily basis, like in the past.
I would have to live under "dhimmi" status, a humiliating concept to which I will not submit.
Thank you! |

Hmm, what an interesting question! I guess it depends on what "in Arab hands" means. If it meant to change Israeli into am entirely Muslim state (and yes, I KNOW not all Arabs are Muslim, just using an example), then definitely not. If I didn't remain a minority here and was treated exactly as the Arab's are, living conditions stayed the same or improved, then I don't really see why not. |

Hmmm. Let's see. . . Until 1948, Jews lived in Israel without a state, without a government. Arab residents and the British Army pretty much did whatever they wanted. Arabs regularly engaged in acts of random violence against and harrassment of Jews. On many occasions, the muftis and certain wealthy Muslim families fomented pogroms and called for massacres of the Jews. The most infamous rampages took place in 1921, 1929, and throughout 1936 - 1939.
For example: In just the spring and summer months of 1936, Arabs murdered 80 Jewish residents.
Aug. 13, 1936 -- Arabs bombed a Jewish home, killing a father with his 3 children;
Aug. 17-- They attacked and killed 2 Jewish nurses and a young girl;
Sept. 19 -- They bombed and killed a 7-year-old child; they bombed a Jewish school, injuring 9 children.
Remember: this was prior to establishment of a Jewish state. There were no Israeli soldiers, no government, and no "occupied" territory.
The Jews stayed. We are here to stay. Revise your thinking.

P.S. Abu-Nasem, On another page, you wrote something interesting: "Battles in the future mentioned in Islam that would take place between Muslims and Jews would happen in Palestine against the Jews."
I would like to understand more about your concept of "Dar al-Harb", the house of war. Could you please provide the exact sources for your comment? (I don't expect you to work too hard on this. Just list the numbers of the lines in the Koran or Hadiths from which your idea was taken. Then, I can look it up myself.) Thank you in advance.
Someone claims that everything was so wonderful in Medina! Yes, when the Jews of that city refused to convert to Islam, their Muslim neighbors slaughtered all the Jewish men. They raped the women and children and took them as slaves. Yup, life was good. Later, the "people of the book" dhimmi were generally forced to live in separate areas (mellah), and to wear special clothing so that they would always be viewed as inferior. (That's o.k.; I don't like green, and white clothing makes me look anemic.)
Guess who invented the concept of "yellow badges"?
In 807, Caliph Harun al-Rashid ordered all Jews to wear them. Wooden figures of devils and apes were nailed on the homes of Jews. From 850, the Jews' holy places of worship were destroyed. I can see why enlightened people like yourselves would want to bring back those good times.
Someone here actually hinted at splitting with us 50/50!
(That's so generous now that the Jews got some of their land back.) http://www.masada2000.org/geography.html

I dont think so.... that would probably mean that there was a war, involving the killing of many, MANY jews. That wouldnt be good news if another Jew went to go live there. |

If it was governed by everyday ordinary Arabs, sure, they generally are good and kind people. But it would most likely be ruled by a more radical sect, so no. |

Probably not, considering no Arab country allows Jews to live there. |

Jews have coexisted peacefully with Arabs in the past before. Take the secular Islamic rule of Moorish Spain for an example. Personally as a Jew myself, if it was in Arab hands, the only time it would bother me less (but still bother me) if they decide to form a secular democratic government similar to Israel's current government. However what would bother me most as a Jew is if they establish Sharia law as their official law and force Islam to dominate the way of life and force everyone to practice Islam. I have been to Israel and their government is actually very secular, so I don't quite understand why Israel would be threatening to Islamic culture. If I were an Arab I would not mind living in Israel. At least Israel's government is secular and Arab citizens in Israel are entitled to the same rights that all other Israeli citizens are granted. But on the contrary I would still be uncomfterble at the idea of Israel being a secular arab state reflecting on the fact that almost all attempts at creating a secular Arab democracy have catastrphically failed. Take Lebanon as an example. However, there have been many . One major example of a failed attempt to create a secular Arab democracy was Lebanon. They tried to make Lebanon a secular democracy with an Islamic identity similar to how Israel is a secular Jewish democracy but that attempt failed miserably. The reason why it failed so miserably is because of the high correlation of radical idealism in Islamic politics resulting in the skewing of elections through voter intimidation and hijacking of parliment both accomplished by threat of violence along with many other issues such as arab nations pressuring Lebanon to become a sharia state along with western pressure to be a democratic state. So even if it would become a secular Arab state I would still be uncomfterble with that by seeing how Lebanon failed. No offense to anyone who is Islamic, but it seems that democracy and Islam do not mix either. So in other words I would rather have Israel remain the way it is and accomplish a two state peace solution. |

Which Arabs would that be? Hard to live where the ruling class wants you dead on general principal. |

Jews would be have a better life living under Arab rule. No more poverty or hunger. No more mismanagement. Safety and security for your family. Peace at last. |

Well, the Jews in Medina live peacefully during Prophet Muhammad as the the city's leader.
Even the laws(that Prophet Muhammad made) let Jews live freely.
But instead,Jews became traitors to the Muslims by helping the enemies during Tabu' War in Medina.
Prophet the love kind man forgives the Jews later on after the Muslims won the war against Kafir. |

Arabs can't control a single thing. So that'll never happen. |

Honestly, me as women, I would never live in any country, where the law is the Koran and you are judged by the sharia... I would not be willing to live in any country where I was forced to put a veil on, because these things should be personal election and never a law, I would never accept top live in such a country where my testimony is worth only the half - just for being a woman.
No, and certainly I would refuse to live somewhere, where I could be punished because I simply want to live my life the way I want do and having to live like being my fathers, brothers or husbands property... no, I wouldn’t accept this for my life.
I would refuse to live in a non-democratic country...
Folks, you simply forget that Israel is the only real democratic state in the Middle East, Israel is the only Middle Eastern state where women do have the same rights as men and where people are not punished for expressing their ideas, political or private ideas – whatever… |
