Just come back from Egypt? |
Fallen in love with the place !! We spent 2 gloreous sun filled weeks in Iberotel Lamaya Resort in Marsa Alam. The staff were amazing and very welcoming and helpful, the hotel (5* all incl) was spotless and luxureous the food was very varied and yummy and the entire holiday was really great. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat this is the place for you (even though we had 2 kids with us!!) the pools were lovely (4 of them) and the beach was so amazing and beautiful coral. My 2 step-daughters (nearly 3 and 9) were treated like princesses. As it is very isolated (Marsa Alam is a very new resort with only a handful of hotels) you cannot spend money (great!!)
Can't wait to go back

It has a big scuba diving school there,next to where I stayed. It is very good for diving, like most parts of Egypt. The coral was so beautiful and the water crystal clear |

I was living in Egypt for 4 months whilst studying Arabic, yes its nice when you are in a resort , however this is not reality and really you could be in any resort any place in the world??
If you go back i would suggest traveling around the country to places like Siwa, Alexandria, Luxor and Cairo and you may see a different story. |

So happy to hear such positive feed back - this is just what we need on this page. I have not visited Marsa alam as yet, but hope to soon as friends of mine recently purchased a property there.
I hope you haven't returned to an area where they have floods? I live in sharm and my family have been keeping up to speed, they live in oxford, not far from abingdon.

Yah, nice journey and memorable living there in a Muslim country very peaceful. Did you find there any terror as other country's people say muslims are terror. If you can snap some picture of historical pyramid and can tell us more about pyramid then we will be glad to know it. |

Glad you enjoyed it . I was in Cairo last year , the usual tourist bit , museum , pyramids , sphinx etc . I took a two day cruise from Cyprus to Port Said then an armed escort all the way to Cairo and then back again , that was a hell of a trip , loved the adventure though even the infamous sellers with their consistent badgering to buy their goods was hard going but definitely an experience to behold, might be a tad much for younger kids, anyway enjoy your next vacation . |
