Well...if it were 65 years ago...I would have favored one state, with Palestine and the jewish living side by side with the Arabs and Muslims and native Jews to the holy land...living peacefully and having the Jews benefit the Palestinian state as a whole and improving their lives. BUT since Israel decided to not do it that way and create their state and attempt to ethnically cleanse the Palestinan people, I guess we have to go with the two state solution.

Annt Hu DeShalit
The two-state solution would make sense only if the Gazan Arabs received a piece of the Sinai to resettle.

And the Arabs living in Judea and Samaria joined their brethren in Jordan, which is already 80 percent Palestinian.

I think that the "palestinians" had their chance to create a state, NUMEROUS TIMES;what did they do with it?

Well, first off, right when Israel was formed we gave the "palestinians" a shot to live in peace, harmony in the state of Israel. They passed, and opted to fight us; WE WON THE WAR.

1967- Again, but no cigar.

2005- Gaza- we evacuated all 9,000 Jewish settlers giving them a chance to create that state! What do they with it? They used it as a launching pad for rockets, sending about 9,000 rockets up to this day.

You say they want peace?I say they don't. It's time to recognize that and stop giving them land and the opportunities. It's obvious they don't care.

Remember:
It's a "palestinian" ploy to kill the Jews.

They don't want land. They don't want peace.

THEY WANT DEATH AND DESTRUCTION TO ME AND MY PEOPLE. ITBACH AL YAHUD.

A one state solution is not viable for Israel since they would lose the majority. A two state solution is not viable for the Palestinians until they have the infrastructure in place to absorb the refugees that will be expelled from the surrounding Arab lands once the declaration of a state is made. I want peace as much as the next person, but not at the expense of the Jewish majority nor the excessive hardships that the Palestinians will have to endure in the future. So, it looks like the status quo will be in effect for the unforeseeable future.

Last call for Muslims, 2 states.

Ivri Anokhi
The status quo will be working fine, once we get Hamas out of Gaza and into Iran.

The truth on what Israelis actually do...
"The groups that are firing the rockets [at Israel] are not fighting a just war… They shoot at Israeli civilians, which is totally unacceptable." On its face, it is an unremarkable statement — something any supporter of Israel, or indeed anyone with a sense of fairness, might say. What makes it unusual is that it came from Ashraf Shafii, a Palestinian woman living in Gaza.

When Ashraf, five months into a high-risk pregnancy, was told that her twin babies might not survive until their birth, her doctor told her, "You have to go to Israel." He knew Israel would give her the expert medical care she could not get in Gaza. Within 24 hours, Ashraf obtained permission from Israeli officials to be treated at a hospital in nearby Ashkelon.

In Ashkelon, Ashraf gave birth to her twins, and her perception of Israelis, poisoned by years of exposure to anti-Israel propaganda, began to change. She was deeply moved by the compassion and expert care of her Jewish doctor, as well as by her encounter with a nine-year-old Israeli patient injured by shrapnel from one of thousands of Palestinian terrorist rockets. Now Ashraf was on the receiving end of rockets fired by her own people, and could see the suffering they inflicted. The experience helped erode whatever sympathy she had for the terrorists’ cause.

In fact, Israeli hospitals routinely treat sick and wounded Palestinians - and no fact better illustrates the contrast between Israel and Palestinian groups like Hamas. Israel still recognizes the humanity of her enemies. This attitude is based both on Hebrew Scripture ("If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink," Proverbs 25:21), and the principles of the 1948 Declaration of the Establishment of the State of Israel, which declares that the newly-formed Jewish state will "extend our hand to all neighboring states and their peoples… and appeal to them to establish bonds of cooperation and mutual help."

You can be proud America has friends like these.

The last call should be for the Palestinians , the ball is in their hands, they have been offered there own state many times, but refused it every time. Most Israelis want 2 separate states, side by side, and want peace more then anything.
A one state will never work, for a few reasons,Given the historical mistreatment of minorities, especially Jews, in Arab lands, this idea would be a recipe for the persecution of Jews (and Christians). One proponent of the idea of a binational state suggested that an international force would protect the Jews, but no leader would entrust the fate of the Jewish people to such an unreliable guarantor. More important, if advocates of binationalism acknowledge that Jews would need protection in such a state, what is the basis for believing this is a solution to the conflict?Since Palestinian Arabs already constitute almost 45 percent of the population living between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River, and their birth rate is double that of Israeli Jews, they would soon become the majority of the population in a binational state. The Jewish character of the nation would then erode and disappear, and Israeli Jews would lose political control over the one safe haven for Jews.As early as 1937, it had become clear that the two peoples could not live together and needed to have states of their own. As a result, the Peel Commission proposed a partition in that year and the UN approved the same approach a decade later. Nothing has changed since that time to suggest any other solution can end the conflict.

The one state model is not viable. It would result in Jews ending up, yet again, a small minority in a state run by Palestinian Arabs.

History has shown that Jews MUST have ONE tiny corner of this world in which WE control our own security.

I support the two state model. Now - what is stopping the Palestinian Arabs from building their own state? They'd have it already if, back in 1948, the Arabs hadn't declared war on the Jews instead of accepting the fair partition and also the hand of friendship that was extended BY Israel.

No one is stopping you from building yourself a country except you. Israel is not responsible for building you a country and neither is anyone else, so either give us back all that aid you've stolen from us or build yourselves a country for crying out loud.

You can't claim you want to live peacefully alongside Israel while you're still lobbing rockets into their cities.

You can't claim you're being hurt by the sanctions when you're using a big chunk of your aid money to buy parts and supplies for those rockets.

You can't claim you're the victims of war as long as you keep starting wars.

So... do you want a country or do you want to continue making war with Israel?

You cannot have it both ways.

Hi. I don't stand with the two state solution. I don't reward terrorism and Syrian squatters no matter how long they squat and how violent they become. I like lasting peace not a false peace and I don't like making land for peace deals like Neville Chamberlain did. I don't support seceding Judea and Samaria region to a separate Palestinian state.

I stand with the religious Jewish right and welcome the Palestinians to stay if they just drop their arms. I'd even consider the possibility of a second viable state within Gaza for these "Syrian orphans" but not now as they really just need to drop their arms.

I happen to think Israelis or Jewish people for that matter are delusional if they think giving land up for peace is going to solve this issue and I don't mind being so bold to say it if it makes people question actually who's side they're on.

Pulling settlers out of homes made Israeli fight Israeli and makes Jew fight Jew so some of us aren't backing down after we saw what pulling settlers out of Gush Katif did. Peres already admitted the Gaza pullout and the Bush/Sharon plan was a mistake so why doesn't everyone else admit it too?

One never gives up the dream and secedes to an enemy. Instead of moving towards secularness one moves closer to G-d. Build a theocracy because even within the theocracy there is room for peaceful coexistence with Noahides. I have the courage to stand up for what I believe in and not give up the dream:

ISRAEL IS A JEWISH STATE!!!!
ISRAEL IS A JEWISH STATE!!!!
ISRAEL IS A JEWISH STATE!!!!

Zionism to a religious person isn't just having Tel Aviv and a modern state, and ignoring our rights of settlement in Hebron where our ancestors are buried. To make peace with the attackers for the sake of the existence of a modern state would only grant a false peace. To the most traditional Zionist, this means without Hebron there is no Tel Aviv.

The split between the people of Israel on this subject needs to be put aside, even for just one day, and to try to understand what the Yeshiva Massacre and Zionism is about from a religious perspective and not a secular one. Listen to the settlers and the most traditional Zionists and understand their perspective.

I prefer a two-state solution, as I think it will work better than a one state solution, because there is too much animosity between the two sides.
A one-state solution will be viable only if it consisted of two 'republics' or mini-states, one Jewish and the other Arab/Muslim. But still; I think it is highly optimistic and therefore unrealistic.

custardetapioca
Two states with a limit on the percentage of non-Jews in Israel; however, the real problem is that Palestinian state(s) would have a military, and it would be much better if it were confederated with Jordan, which has a democratic and stable regime.

The First Dragon
Since Israel never wanted West Bank or Gaza Strip, but annexed them only in an effort to stop some of the attacks being made from those lands into Israel, I think most Israelis would like a 2-state solution. The Palestinian leaders, however, will accept nothing less than all of Israel besides their own lands. The charters of both Fatah and Hamas declare this as their goal.

justtruthnointimidation
most jew people in Israel i have talked to and met want the jew state only for the jew. they want a racist welfared freeloading state/ without 'arabs ' (whom they refer to as animals or dirty or trash.) .but this jew racist philosophy Won't work and cant. so count your days.

Neither, there will never be a Palestinian state. Israel splits West Bank with Jordan and Egypt/Israel split Gaza. The state of Israel will expand.

Israelis want Palestine all to themselves. It's their land from the start, isn't it?..their intention is to wipe out the arabs living in Palestine because it says in the Torah, no nation should prosper after the Jews leave, so Palestine should all belong to Israel.

My dear Marry, the Jews lost their right of choice in January 2009.
It is not up to them to decide anymore.
It's what the Palestinians want or think it's best for them.
We have a moral obligation to help them as they are victims of a holocaust and a verified genocide.
It is very clear to me.
Greetings
