It depends where it's coming from.

The more close the more effect like a bullet

yes, unfortunately words are mightier than a sword and they can make or break people.

I have had my share of hurtful things said to me, the worst ones come from people close to you because they know your vulnerable points and they can aim straight at them.

I know I've done it too: easy targets, instant revenge and a lifetime to regret saying it.

If they are people who matter to you, you might forgive but it's much harder to forget.

Ghanouge
you sent me back, like 5 years ago. to my first ever love, my first boyfriend,

Well it didnt work out obviously, but i do remember one conversation we had we were breaking up due to some problems, were i told him, that i love him too much to get over him, and he said, well Ghina, just step on your heart like i did!!!

So at that moment i felt like a knife cut through me, and from that day, i learned how to move on, and forget. He did teach me well...

Yes, but I would go with the "Life goes on for sure" and carry on.....

Life is too good to stop and worry about stupid words said by people who doesn't care about you.

I have a way of avoiding this.

A person can't hurt me if I don't care about them.
So if they say something that really hurts that bad, they're not worth caring about.

Of course that wouldn't work If my daughter ever said something that really hurt me, but that has never been a problem cause she's the worlds greatest daughter!

Yes......
And the only words that really hurt are those that come from pple you really care about, or love.

I didnt get over it.........I cant forget, and I'll never do it.
I dont know if are the words which hurt you, or the person that says them. But one without the others are nothing.
As Webby said... Words are worse than swords.

Aussie
Yes , it never ceases to amaze me how many people I know had this sort of painful experience , starting right back at primary school ! I include myself in that !
I don't feel that it has has been without benefit though as I am sure , in hindsight , that it toughened me up for life in the real world !
Life deals all of us some hardships & trials ...how we react to them determines our character !

The Ministry of Common Sense
Yes. Words are the worst weapons. I did not get over it.

at first i used to cry over stuff like that, but then i wouldnt care.
They dont care about me, they want to hurt me, why waste energy on them??

Yes i am serious also words can hurt me sooo bad

mii
Obviously we've all been there.. But remember : they're just words. They can't get to you unless you believe them.
Words do hurt the most, it's true. But anyone who hurts you isn't worth your time of day.
