I can see why you asked the question, and the reasoning behind it.
Unfortunately most didn´t see it, and dived right into the usual tactics of personal attacks! Hmmm.

However, you have achieved your goal, judging by the numerous responses.

I think the biggest problem with most African governments is that their roots are militarial.

Freedom fighters = good governance
is an equation that very seldom works.

The ANC´s governance stems mostly from the struggle.
But again, do militants make good public servants?
Clearly, from the ANC´s example to date, No.
They are so far only serving to give Africans an incompetent and corrupt image locally and overseas.

However, I do believe that there are plenty of capable politicians in South Africa from all cultures, it´s just a pity that they may not get a chance.

You know, white or black government, I really don't care, just so long as they at least try to do their jobs properly, get their act together and get this country up and running like it should be!

I understand the logic you are trying to get across, but do the majority of the population understand why it would be in their best interests in the long run, my personal feeling it's another 20yrs before any change will occur and it will come with the next generation of school leavers.

My view-
The ANC and its surrogates represent Communism.
The DA represents Western values.
Make a choice.It has little to do with race anymore from the DA's side and everything to do with the best qualified for the position. The ANC know they cannot compete intellectually with the DA so they play the race fear card and a return to apartheid. Will you swallow it?

I think your theory is partly correct except for the "White". I would say a competent rainbow party would be good but I must stress COMPETENT.

Fallen oh brother! I understand what you are trying to say, but your conclusion is flawed. A white party will not necessarily translate into a better SA for all. The fact that the party would be a white one says a lot...

Your theory is an interesting one. Different people will decode it differently according to their state of consciousness. You may face the wrath of many a black folk( as is the case with Ayiza), and the approval of many white folks. Apartheid has done a lot of damage to our people, and it continues to be passed on... to the next generation. The evidence speaks for its self. Apartheid taught that black people are bad, useless and cannot govern themselves and that all things white are good and beautiful. This my friend, was social engineering at its worst.

Unfortunately the present day African leadership does'nt deal with the situation. They are always blaming everyone else but themselves, and the masses can only but imitate their leaders. This will only lead to more problems.

There is clearly a need to educate black people about their Self-esteem, without resorting to blaming white people or belittling themselves and being ashamed of who they are.

What SA needs right now is a leader who will roll up his sleeves and get cracking. This is long overdue. South Africa needs a manager, someone who can translate vision into reality.

In conclusion, there wont be a healthy balance in a white(only) party. The scale will be tipped to one side. The general law of nature is that " one looks after his own". If you have had the good fortune of travelling the world you will know what I mean. A balance is always good my friend. Remember, white is not always all good...We have History to prove it...

Hopefully, in a few years, the DA will not be a "white party" anymore, but merely a "competent South African party".

I don't vote anymore but would if there was a party that is not like the VF+ or the AWB/AEB that is only focussed on one group.
I don't vote because I don't see why we (the ones born after apartheid started falling - late '80's) should fix the mess our parents have got us into. It's not my fault that the whites aren't in parliament anymore and SA would not have had this much problems (for all of us) if they hadn't started with apartheid in the first place. As long as people will stop blaming us who didn't have anything to do with it (ja, Ayiza) maybe we can come to a compromise.

Very good point fallen, now to get enough other people to see it before its too late - and 20 years as suggested by Jack Daniels is, I think, too late the country will be too far gone by then.

why not a multiracial party.i understand what you are trying to say but why do you assume that a non white political party cant achieve this level of governance.

its not about race but more about values.

But South Africa is still growing so much and developing from 1995
We as South Africans must forget now about white parties and black parties and just think about South African people serving there country.

There is so much that I want to change myself in South Africa but if I think about all the great thing that happened with me after apartheid like going to a private white school doing gymnastics being in provinsial swimming teams studying Im grateful

With the ratio of at least ten blacks to one white, the whites will not be voted for, and the anc are a bunch of inexperienced, chip-on-the-shoulder bigots. So that leaves the DA to save the country from its increasing downward spiral. Go Helen Zille !

Two things:
1) Mandela is not a hero, merely a garden variety Marxist terrorist/thug. It's because of him that South Africa has descended into chaos. If they'd had any kind of foresight at the Rivonia trial, he'd have been hung, like the worthless waste of human flesh that he is.
2) Whites will never again govern South Africa. Just as the National Party (justifiably) used the 'rooi gevaar' as a weapon to stay in power for over forty years, the terrorist scum of the ANC will use the 'legacy of apartheid' as their psychological weapon. Failing that, they'll merely resort to basic thuggery (like their partner in 'quiet diplomacy' in Zimbabwe) to hold onto their evil stranglehold on what used to be South Africa.
