mostly hebrew, then english and arabic (the 2 other official languages)
but because israel is made up of so many immigrants you hear all sorts of languages, there are many russians as well, so you hear russian as well
Hebrew, the language of the Bible, and Arabic are the official languages of Israel. Hebrew, Arabic and English are compulsory subjects at school. French, Spanish, German, Yiddish, Russian, Polish and Hungarian are widely spoken.
Local and international newspapers and periodicals in a number of languages are readily available. All street and most commercial signs are in Hebrew and English and often in Arabic. |

Modern hebrew for almost everything you want to do (buying, applying for college.....)there is also arabic which is spoken in arabic villages and cities but if you gotta do a government issue you've got to speak hebrew or buy something from a cell provider company like Orange or Cellcom. English is taught in schools and colleges mostly but not spoken on the streets. Russian is also spoken here because of the russian people that come from russia for immigration. |
