Questions to my arab friends?

Palestine is just the name given by Romans to Israel and Judea after they conqured them. It´s the undeniable historic fact.

How can Israelis and Jews be "the occupiers" of their own land?

What would your answer be to someone who would say that Arabs are!the occupiers" of Arabia?

How would you call a man who would say that the descendants of the Ancient Quraishitas are "settlers" in Mecca?
Additional Details
Maybe because these immigrants and foreigners in Europe do notproclaim their goal the destruction of the country that accepted them nd also do not clai that they are the native population of this country and allthese Germans,British ,French and other European peoples are just "settlers" without any roots in Europe?
Compare this with what the arabs say about Jews and Palestine.Maybe this will help you answer your question.

Simple Simon
This is quite simple.
You can't say Jews occupy Judea.
But if you rename Judea to the WEST BANK, you will be able to say Jews occupy West Bank.
I believe very soon new state NORH BANK will be on the map too.
NORTH BANK of the Mediterranean, known before as France.

Look behind you
Um where are the Jews coming from? They didn't just suddenly spring out of the ground in Israel (nowadays). They come from Europe, USA, Russia and other places. Who were the majority before the Balfour Declaration?

Both Israel and Judea kingdoms where gone before the Romans.
The Palestinian city-state existed before and after the Romans.
Palestine was called Palestine before the Jews and it was called Palestine during the Ancient Egyptian rule and Ancient Greek rule and Ancient Roman rule.

I think you are getting a few of your so called facts screwed up friend ! Don't confuse arabs with Muslims....
Arab peoples , irrespective of the names they were called , let's say Canaanites , Phoenicians & others , were living descendants of the 12 tribes of Abraham's descendants well before Mohammed walked the earth & lived throughout the region BC.
The birth of Christianity first among the Jews , then to the gentiles throughout the Mediterranean region , was followed by the birth of Islam some 400 years later .
What you have now is the remnants of those peoples , mainly Muslims now , who can trace their roots back to before the Israelites were lead out of Egypt by Moses !
Historical records are in both the Jewish & Christian holy books so don't try to deny history in order to justify yourself...
Noone can deny that it was the Roman conquerors who gave the region the name Palestine ...remember , that name included the Jews of the day as well until they were finally exiled to Babylon !

One in a Million
Which came first, the chicken or the egg? The Canaanites founded ancient Philistinian culture (early ancestors of Palestinian Arabs). Muslims have lived in the Holy Land for at least 1,100 years and various Arab Muslim leaders made journeys there. The old trade routes of the Arab world went through Jerusalem.

The TRUTH may or may not be HOLY, depending on your religious perspective, but your statements are HOLEY

The Romans didn't invent the name Palestine, the Greeks who ruled there before them called it Palestine, for one.

Israel wasn't the name of the place until 1948, if one believes the bible, there was a tribe called "Israel" which inhabited the place. For a relatively brief span relative to history. Other tribes and peoples of various religions inhabited the place before, during and after the so-called "Jewish" kingdoms of David and Solomon. It's unclear whether "Jews" were ever even a majority of the population at any time. I put "Jews" in quotes, because at the time of Solomon the religion was probably very different than modern Judaism, the supreme deity had a consort, for example, a goddess, so it wasn't even monotheistic.

In fact most ancestors of Jews don't come from where Palestine/Israel is. The Jews did a lot of proselytizing from maybe 500 BC to 800 CE. Most ancestors of modern Jews converted in other parts of the world. It's a fact.

In fact the Romans didn't exile all the Jews, probably not even most of them. They brutally crushed a revolt in the southern part, known as Judea in ancient times. However, there were plenty of Jews (by this time, they probably were monotheists) in the other parts of Palestine, Samaria, the Galilee, and wherever. Where did most Jews who fled the Roman oppression mostly go? Undoubtedly, most went next door to Samaria, Galilee, the coastal region. The religious leadership decamped to Mesopotamia, where they continued their proselytizing. What happened to most Jews of ancient times? By around 400 CE, most had converted to Christianity. Later many adopted Islam. The Arabs of Palestine DO NOT come from anywhere else, they are the descendants of the various peoples, including Jews, who inhabited the region since biblical times.

The "Arabs" conquered Palestine as much by converting people to Islam as anything. Mostly, they didn't plunder it. They ruled and taxed it. The Arab army arrived at Jerusalem and negotiated their entry, one of the terms was allowing the people to continue to practice their religion. And one of the things they did was allow back the Jews, who had been banned from the city by the Byzantinian Romans. For hundreds of years after the Arab conquest, Palestine remained a majority Christian.

To the “ proud Christian Aussie with Lebanese roots !”- and with rudimentary knowledge of history.
As soon as I see statement like “Arab peoples , irrespective of the names they were called , let's say Canaanites , Phoenicians & others”,I usually simply skip the rest. Canaanites and even less Phoenicians were no more arabs than you are the Australian bushman. You don´t believe me?OK,take a piece of a document in Canaanite language-and try to offer an Arab from any arab country to read and translate it.I made this experiment many times, with University professors, professional translators and simply arabs, and the result was always the same: they returned me the document and said that it was not in Arabic.
So, Canaanites were Arabs-who did not speak Arabic?Or the Arabs were “the Canaanites”-but today the Arabs can not understand a word in the language of those they say were their descendants?
The only conclusion any reasonable man would make is:Canaanites and Phoenicians were not Arabs. And he would be right.
Your main problem is that you put the modern realities on the past.Your logic is as follows:Egypt(you can take any other country, like Lebanon or Syria) is today populated by Arabs. So,the Ancient Egyptians were Arabs, and it was Arabs who erected The Pyramids and created the Great Egyptian civilization .No,my dear, they were NOT Arabs, they were absolutely different people..And the Ancient Phoenicians and Canaanites were NOT Arabs, either. They were absolutely different people. But when Arabs conquered Egypt(and Lebanon, and Syria),they gradually arabicized the native population, in the same manner they did with the Northern Africa Berbers who today speak Arabic-but are not Arabs. The fact that you are from Lebanon does not make you the descendant of the Ancient Phoenicians or Canaanites, especially if you are unable to read a single word in their language.
You arabs are really amusing people. For having nothing special to be proud of in the last 600 years, you try to jump in the train of the long-gone Great Civilization and declare their achievements yours.
Want an advice? Don´t be shy – and declare that the Ancient Romans together with the Ancient Greeks were Arabs. And you will immediately obtain the right to call all those people they conquered Arabs, too.You have already done the first step by declaring the Philistines were Arabs and that Alexander the great was Muslim(read the Quran about Dhul Karnain)-Don´t stop here, go for more.

“was followed by the birth of Islam some 400 years later” .
630 years later.Let´s try to stick to historical facts.
“What you have now is the remnants of those peoples , mainly Muslims now , who can trace their roots back to before the Israelites were lead out of Egypt by Moses !”
And who do not speak a word of the language of their supposed Ancient “descendants” .Take any Jew-and he will read a text written in Ancient Hebrew some 3000 years ago. Moreover,he will also understand the text written in Canaanite langiage! But Arabs, for some “unknown” reason, can not read the texts written in Phoenician or Canaanite languages – although stubbornly say they are the direct descendants of the Canaanites and Phoenicians and Philistines – all of whom were of different origin, and the Philistines were not even Semitic. They were from Creete or Greece, the Egyptians Chronicles refer to them as to “The Sea Peoples”
Have a good day.

If you were really a Semite, you would have known that Quraish Arabic is different than other forms of Arabic. Research the term "Proto-Semitic" amateur.

Samir:"You can try this trick on Tambovi"
I do not trick nor treat, cutters and pasters do. Besides, nothing is better than the truth even if its bitter.

Sam:"Yes,for centuries the commentators of the Quran thought – and taught us - that Dhul Qarnain – The Two-Horned One- was Alexander The Great. Other explanation was that he was Cyrus The Great."

(– and taught us - ) <--- I do not know who taught you, but seriously ask for your money back, thanks are only to God that I was not taught such error. look how you contradict your self, you have to choose either Alex or Cyruss, you can not say both, and which site did you cut from.
And regarding your Arabic rebuttal, research Maarib Dam, or the stone pillar found near Alhijaz, or a specific Yemini tribe on the extreme southwest, you too Samir have a long way to catch up, so i advise you to read.

You again: "it sounds ridiculous"
....Exactly, then why repeat!!! maybe India is a special case ;)
-----
All of you remember this, whether you are religious or atheist, you can not deny that at one point we had two ancestors that spoke one language. And Quraish Arabic was derived from Aramaic. Old South Arabic, was influenced by the African family of languages..

Sherif Hussein, the guardian of the Islamic Holy Places in Arabia, wrote:

"The resources of the country are still virgin soil and will be developed by the Jewish immigrants. One of the most amazing things until recent times was that the Palestinian used to leave his country, wandering over the high seas in every direction. His native soil could not retain a hold on him, though his ancestors had lived on it for 1000 years. At the same time we have seen the Jews from foreign countries streaming to Palestine from Russia, Germany, Austria, Spain, America. The cause of causes could not escape those who had a gift of deeper insight. They knew that the country was for its original sons (abna'ihilasliyin), for all their differences, a sacred and beloved homeland. The return of these exiles (jaliya) to their homeland will prove materially and spiritually [to be] an experimental school for their brethren who are with them in the fields, factories, trades and in all things connected with toil and labor"(AlQibla,March 23,1918).
The key words here are " THE RETURN OF THIS EXILES TO THEIR HOMELAND".Or maybe someone has doubts whom the guardian of the Islamic Holy Places in Arabia meant by these words?Jews returned HOME.And the arabs understood this perfectly well - at that time.
Quite simple,isn´t it?

I am not an Arab, but i wanna answer this question because it is very interesting.

You said the Roman changed the name from Israel and Judea to Palestine right?

They only changed the name the original inhabitants were still there. Just like the US, we stole the natives land but the natives are still here they did not go back to Europe.

Besides if my family left our house for almost 2000 years I will not come back and say, " this is my land i left it 2000 years ago, so give it back."

If you were the original inhabitants you would have never left your "holy" land.

anyways, the Jews were never the original inhabitants of that land there were pagans living there as well as Phoenicians.

We can trace the arrival of the Arabs into Palestine not just by the written record but by the genetic record as well. Had the Arabs confined themselves to Jordan, there wouldn't be any problems today, but they spread over entire territories as they are doing and have done throughout their history. The question which needs to be asked is: When will they halt! Which territories are Muslims prepared to admit are NOT part of their Islamic World?

The Ultimate Radical
Palestine is the indigenous homeland of the predominantly Muslim Arab peoples who have lived in the Holy Land for nearly five thousand years and have been documented follow Islam for at least 1,100 years. The Ottoman Empire ruled that the Palestinians were ready for self-government and had developed their society. There are legal documents in Turkey that demonstrate this conclusion.

Islam is also an Abrahamic religion and East Jerusalem is sacred to the Islamic faith because Mohammed made his night journey up to heaven there. So it is as legitimate a belief as the Christian belief in Jesus or the Jewish belief in aaliyah and the Western Wall.

As for Jews, there have been Arab Jews in the Ottoman's old enclaves since antiquity. The European Jews are a new and old introduction as the Romans removed them unceremoniously against their will. However, Arabs and Jews got along before America's rearrangement of the Middle East for their own gain.

In that sense, Arabs are right to feel betrayed by the American government. They are wrong to be hateful towards Israelis and to pit Palestinians against them. RE: the three infamous Nos at the the U.N. after the Six Day War. War and terrorism have only hurt the Palestinian cause. Once people settle and start a country, you have to accept it. At least the Palestinians could be given a future with a country of their own instead of military occupation, roadblocks, housing demolitions and walls.

marry w is right, also, where do you get off saying its Israeli land? Arabs have been living there for the past 1000 years, that is Palestinian peoples land. so get your facts straight, Israel will not exist in the future.

also, Arabs were NEVER the minority in Palestine, the Jews were, 3%.

How can Israelis and Jews be "the occupiers" of their own land?
yes they are the occupiers of people that are of their own race, in other words, Palestinians are decedents of Abraham, and even the people of Moses as well, Just because Islamic movement took place in Palestine does not mean that those people no longer belonged to the land.

What would your answer be to someone who would say that Arabs are!the occupiers" of Arabia?

OK, This happens all over the world, it still does not make it right.

Yes, the bible says that God gave the land to the Hebrews, so there were other tribes there at that time, SO God said they would be driven out. So instead the Jews where driven out. So where is Gods promise. Something happened to the promise. It was a promise that is not understood.

The promise land will not be until the return of the messiah. Because the covenant has already been established.

Lets just say that the land belonged to others before the Hebrews.
When God called it the promise land, it was to fulfill Gods promise, to establish a covenant. It was were God law was to spring, and spread all over the earth through Jesus Christ the Messiah. So that many nations will be blessed.

Exo 3:8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

It was a good land, flowing with milk and honey and inhabited by several tribes of people. This land flowing with milk and honey was mentioned at least 20 times in the Bible. This is the land God has for you, go into it. They were showing unbelief by first wanting to spy the land. God permitted them to do this, against his first command to go in and posses the land.

The milk and honey i symbolic, it means something different, not literally.

edit: oh ya, i said about the occupied people that dependents from their own race, well let me rephrase that.

They are European immigrates occupying Hebrew blood.
Why i say this? When Jews were driven out over 1000 years ago, they mixed around with other countries, eliminating the race. Therefore the remaining Jews that converted to Christianity and Islam are closer to the Hebrew race.

paullucky
just to make things more clear--Palestinians now a days are different people, mainly from Arab descent , gathered together, not those ancient Palestinians: also, these people come from European nations and west, but call themselves Palestinians.--that's why Israel needs to get back there land that was stolen from them

You can try this trick on Tambovi,he is not Arab-but not on me.Any Arab will understand Arabic spoken in any Arab country, and Quraishi dialect is only this: a dialect of Arabic. You may have some problems in understanding the guys from Yemen or Morocco-if you speak the Classic Arabic, but don´t try to tell me that you will not understand them at all.
And hope you will not try to tell me that you will not even understand that you are spoken to in Arabic?
Tambovi is absolutely right; you can not say you are Arab-if you do not understand a word in Arabic. In the same way, you can not say that you, an Arab, are the descendant of the Canaanites if you don´t understand a word in Canaanite language.
But what made me gasp was your intent to be ironic about Tambovi´s statement about Dhul Qarnain.Have you never read the Quran and tafsir to it? The story of Dhul Qarnain can be easily found at the Quran, 18:83-98:,it starts so:”They will ask you of Dhul Qarnayn…”and then it narrates how this poor two-horned creature runs to and fro by the order of Allah. What kind of an Arab are you,if you don´t know such elemental things?
Yes,for centuries the commentators of the Quran thought – and taught us - that Dhul Qarnain – The Two-Horned One- was Alexander The Great. Other explanation was that he was Cyrus The Great. In any case,it sounds ridiculous, because both Alexander and Cyrus were Pagans and could not be Muslims.
But this is not all.Islam teaches that not only Alexander The Great was Muslim, but also Moses, Noah, Lot, and even-don´t laugh-Jesus Christ.
And after that Muslims invite the Non-Muslims to take their religion seriously and “with respect”!

Lupines supports GEERT WILDERS
Ingul, they are just trying to revise history with an artificial name for the region that is why it is not working out too well for them. Palestine was the artificial name given by the ancient roman "occupiers." West Bank is also an artificial term, it is an English name.

As far as their attempt to deny Russian Jews and Euro Jews or whatever, because a Jew is a Jew doesn't matter where they come from. A sovereign nation has the right to make open border for whomever they wish and Israel did just that.

Just like there are 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide, they are not all Arab. Nobody tells them they cannot go to Mecca. A Muslim is a Muslim and they move freely in their own countries. There are 23 Arab Muslim states and total of 60 Muslim states now.

So this "occupier" terminology they use only against Jewish people to "strike at" the Jewish state. They already know we are indigenous to the region, they already know they got their own territories with corresponding capitals when the Middle East was being formed and they are basically happy with that. What they don't like is that there is a Jewish state that is not "dhimmi."

When we were dhimmi they used to do same things to us and it happened all over the places we lived where Muslims were majority and Jewish people just minority. But now we are not dhimmi we have a strong majority Jewish state and we can defend ourselves strongly. They still continue to attack, with whatever method they can, and the "occupier" strategy is just a political war with much misinformation, revisional history so they can get people to continue their fight against Israel.

Not all Muslims feel like that though. Here is Sheikh Palazzi, that agrees that not only do we have a right to sovereignty over the land, but we have been "commanded" to inhabit our land. Other Muslims have gone so far as to say that Palestinians are the actual settlers and the development of Palestinian people are just a political ploy:

Sheikh Palazzi - Israel rights to sovereignty

"We all know the Israeli aggression will not be without consequences. We all know our people have been oppressed by the Israeli occupation, but that doesn't mean we don't have a right to live in a land we migrated to and settled in." Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas PM, 03 Feb 2009 Al-Aqsa TV

"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct "Palestinian people" to oppose Zionism. For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa. While as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan." -- PLO Executive Committee member Zuhayr Muhsin, March 31, 1977, interview with the Dutch newspaper Trouw."

"You Arabs admitted that the [Palestinian] cause began after 1967. The Israelis can sue you now, if they sue you they will win."
