Shana tovah to you also! And thank you for the lovely thoughts. I did go to synagogue with my daughter and 2 grandsons and it was beautiful. We have the most wonderful cantor and a wonderful special choir for the high holy days- the music was just beautiful. I also love the holidays and am also looking forward to sukkot, when we will be building our very first sukkah! We finally bought our own house and are finally able to do this- we're very excited! Good holidays to all!

I fasted yeaterday and it was really hard for me because of my bad health condition so I am not fasting today. I hope all the other Muslims are doing well and finding fasting easy.
For you, the Jews, happy Rosh Hashanah again. I wish you are all happiness in life.

Yes Tabatha, I am actually not required to fast. Sick people, old people, very young children, pregnant and menstruating women, and traveling people are not required to fast but we have to help poor people instead like either giving them money or feed a poor person with us daily. However, because I am still dependent on my parents I only hope God gives me the power so I can fast the days that I missed.

L'Shanah Tovah Tikatevu, Gemar Chatimah Tovah and Good Yom Tov.

Rosh Hashanah is both a solemn and happy day. It is a time for introspection, asking for forgiveness, giving forgiveness, resolving to do better, remembering God is King and Judge, and praying for a healthy and happy year to come. Those observing the Jewish New Year are solemn in their repentance, but happy in their confidence that God is merciful and good.

I love the shofar blast too, as it is a spiritual wake-up call to repent and Abraham's great faith in God. (Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac, but was allowed at the last minute to sacrifice a ram in Isaac's stead.)
