Should I cancel my trip to Egypt? |
I am a 30 year old American man (fairly experienced traveler) that wasn't planning to do a guided tour of Egypt next week. Should I cancel my trip in light of the recent bombing? I know this is a general question, but I don't want to put my safety at risk. Additional Details That should read "was planning" |

Of course you are free to cancel or not cancel your trip...Regarding the latest event , Is there a 100% safe in this world ???,, Is it 100% safe to drive to your work,??,,Generally talking, it is more secure to be in a place in where a problem happened recently , simply because the security is more alarmed and more strict... They say a rock does not hit the same spot twice,, so the possibility to have (something new ) is less than before, at least now..
I said it is up to you to cancel your trip, because as I understood , you are worried and it is a holiday,,,Worried people do not enjoy holidaying,, so either you believe from inside that it will be ok, to enjoy ,, or if you still feel worried do not waste your money and stay home |

Yes, moonrise, let him come!
Now, after his question, they know his trip steps. hihihihihiiiiii
Sorry, I'm kidding. However, it may happen in any place and at any time.
I cannot stay in my home and loss my dream trip to die in bed.
When my leave hour comes, I will be sure that my age becomes complete, and I cannot take one day more. |

If I was in your place, I would definitely travel, I believe that what is written to me will happen even if i'm sleeping in my house.
Other people like my dad for example who was not accepting traveling to turkey 2 years ago bcoz there were bombing like the one happened in cairo 3 days ago, but after we convince him, we traveled and it was really great days, So, my advice is go and enjoy ur time,
I was in luxor 2 weeks ago and the weather was great, and the cruiser was great,
Have a nice trip, Wish u the best, |

Really depends where you are going.
But there is a small chance of this happening.
Police etc will be more aware of suspicious goings on, so it's unlikely anything major would happen.
I wouldn't. |

To be honest with you I wouldn´t give a damn to that bombing stuff at all. I am a good believer. If my days are finish, then not only bombs that will kill me, any thing els will finish me as well.
So go for your trip, believe me I would. |

My fiance is an Egyptian tour leader and tells me the market where the bomb went off was trading as uaual the next day with many tourists still going so has not deterred anyone it appears. Police are taken up large scale security there. Of all the tourists related attacks in Egypt over the last 15 years, they have involved open areas so places like the Citadel and Museum should be safe. The pyramids have been standing for thousands of years, no one has attacked these areas yet.
As for the road from Abu Sinbel to Aswan (I assume you are driving this part) involves a convoy of police escort and set times for all vehicles to meet. This was bought in after an attack on a tour bus many years ago the the police are onto it.
Egypt is quite a safe place, people do not generally participate in crimes against individuals and my fiance assured me the streets are safe after dark as I found out, always felt safe. Being female he would never put my safety at risk if he thought there was a chance of me being in danger so go there because it is the most facinating place to visit and you will love it. |

I can't tell you about the future and no one can expect if the next incident will be here or near your home. You have the right to worry but if I were you, I would go on with my trip.
usually Americans are not targeted in these incidents (according to the past incidents). Some people always say it's Izrael who is always behind it, so don't worry they are living mainly on American money and they may not hurt Americans. |

Egypt is safe. what happened is an individual, very small-scale incident. Besides, logically speaking, security measures must be their tightest now, so you should be safer "than normal".
bon voyage! |

I personally advise (you being American, and thats cool) that you visit a place called Cape Town, South Africa, (SA is very different to the rest of Africa) |
