Should Israel take the "deal" before it is rescinded? |
The 2002 Saudi Initiative, as it has come to be known, calls for: 1) full Israeli withdrawal from all lands under Jewish sovereignty since 1967, including Jerusalem, the Golan Heights and all of Judea and Samaria; 2) Israeli agreement to accept Arab war refugees; 3) Israeli acceptance of a Palestinian Arab state in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, with Jerusalem as its capital. In exchange, the Arab states would agree to enter into a peace agreement with Israel, and "consider the Arab-Israeli conflict ended." |

And if it will be rescinded by Saudis, why do you think it will be worse for Israel?
I follow closely events in Israel for the last 30 years and have to say many ME Myths were broken and no longer exist.
1. First myth was shear numbers-6 Arabs countries will destroy Israel. 200 million Arabs against 3 million Jews followed. Them 1.4 billion Muslims against 5 million Jews. But even this did not work and today Arabs say entire world shall destroy israel...
2. Second myth-Word of attrition against Israel will be a victory. Israel has limited human and material resources they will lose. Egypt lost war of attrition. Israel armament factories were first in the world to become 90% robotic, so Israeli men could serve in the army, but armaments will continue to flow.
3. Third myth-demography victory. I visited Israel 25 years ago and saw how many kids produce young religious families. Arabs did not see this. Arabs sudenly saw 1 million Jews from Russia coming to Israel and understood they lost.
But this is not all. A muslim kid asked Why Shalit family came to Israel from France. I know why. They feel safer in Israel, than in Islaminazed France. The same happens in UK. Many thousands Jews will come to Israel from these countries.
Until recently I had no doubts that military wise time is working for Israel. But politically I did not think so. It has changed.
1. Entire world hate Muslem more than they hate Jews? Why? Ask all those who lost their jobs because of Muslim greed that brought economic recession.
2. And of course Iran. This is absolutely crazy and unbelivable. But today without Israel Saudis and Gulf will not able to defend themself from Iranian agression.
So, why Israel shoud rush?
I would wait for better conditions. |

It's too late for "Israel", major change will come to the Middle East and the loosers will be the corrupt arab "leaders" and "Israel"
- 1. Entire world hate Muslem more than they hate Jews? Why? Ask all those who lost their jobs because of Muslim greed that brought economic recession.- Obviously you lack even the most basic knowledge about Macro-economics and international affairs. You are probably refering to the rising oil-prices, which are fueled by Bush's wars causing instability and supply challenges in the Gulf region, a decline in cheap oil reserves and a rise in oil demand fueled by high economic growth in China, India etc. Your so-called muslim countries, have no power on global oil prices, these days are over.
3)
The myth of the Palestinian refugees is a load of BS. Fair enough, the people who left in 1948 can have refugee status. But it is ridiculous for anyone to claim that the children and grandchildren of these people, who were not born in Israel and have never set foot there, are refugees. --- meaning the myth of jews' right to Palestine is also BS, since the majority of jews are born outside Palestine and doesn't even have ethnic roots to the land(red. Russians, Poles, Ethiopians, Arabs etc)
Arab countries refuse them citizenship even if they were born there. The reason? They want millions of Arabs to go to Israel, which would cause Israel to be a Muslim-majority state.
-- yes, they have refugee status, meaning they are citizens of another country, why force them to become naturalized, and ask any palestinian if they would trade their right of return to a host-nationality and hear what they have to say.
4)
The Palestinians have broken every single agreement that they have ever signed. Why should Israel trust them now?
---haha are you insane, every sane person knows that Israel has not lived up to a single agreement and is one of the worst countries in the world regarding living up to UN resolutions. No one trusts the "Israelies" since they are experts in deception and propaganda.
On top of that I don't remember if it was BBC who did an analysis concluding that "Israel" is either directly or indirectly responsible for approx. 92% of the conflicts with the Palestinians.
I personally hope "Israel" doesn't accept the deal since it in my oppinion is too generous to a fake entity that based their so-called racist nation on ethnic cleansing of a native people. We should just let history resolve this matter. |

No, Israel should not accept this deal. Such an agreement would threaten the safety of every single Israeli citizen.
1)
Should Israel unilaterally withdraw from Judea and Samaria, Hamas will take over because Hamas is stronger than Fatah. Then Hamas will begin firing rockets into Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
I propose a better solution. It is in the interests of both Israel and Jordan for Hamas to be removed. The Jordanians don't want Hamas controlling the West Bank because Jordan is fearful Hamas will start causing problems there.
So here is my proposal. All Jewish areas and Jerusalem shall remain part of Israel, while all Arab areas shall be given to Jordan. Israel and Jordan will then work together to arrest, deport or kill each and every member of the terrorist organisations.
If Jordan takes control of the West Bank, then refuses to crack down on terrorism, Israel will be able to hold the Government of Jordan directly responsible for any and all terrorist activity in the area. Jordan will be able to prevent Hamas from interfering in its affairs.
Don't bullshit me about the Palestinian state; Jordan's population is majority Palestinian already.
2)
Israel should not under any circumstances withdraw from the Golan Heights. Withdrawing from the Golan Heights would allow Syria access to the Sea of Galilee, enabling them to poison Israel's water supply. Furthermore, it would enable the Syrian army to fire missiles at Northern Israeli cities.
3)
The myth of the Palestinian refugees is a load of BS. Fair enough, the people who left in 1948 can have refugee status. But it is ridiculous for anyone to claim that the children and grandchildren of these people, who were not born in Israel and have never set foot there, are refugees.
Arab countries refuse them citizenship even if they were born there. The reason? They want millions of Arabs to go to Israel, which would cause Israel to be a Muslim-majority state.
4)
The Palestinians have broken every single agreement that they have ever signed. Why should Israel trust them now?
5)
With regards to Gaza; Hamas has firm control, and was elected as the government there. So I say recognize Gaza as an independent country, and recognize Hamas as the legitimate government.
Any missiles fired will be an act of law under international law. Furthermore, Israel already has cause to take action, as Gilad Shalit is being held hostage in clear violation of international law. |

Well, I am not certain about peace with Syria as I doubt their sincerity as a nuclear power. As well, I worry for the Druze and others who live there that they will be subject to persecution or shari'a law by al-Assad al-Bashir's government. Syria is into double-talk and they can't be trusted, though they are no longer a major funder of terrorism. They have never owned up to their history. Also, it is possible it would lead to tension between Israel, America and Syria and if Syria were bombed and invaded, it would hurt the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and Syrians in their own country. I'd rather let it go than watch people fight over it, fair or not.
The Saudi deal is a good starting point but even I do not expect Israel to negotiate with Hamas. A better approach is to go back to the Oslo Accords and look at the Saudi deal guidelines, with some compromises and adjustments for both sides. A better approach to refugees is financial compensation with integration into the countries they live in and housing, or else, a partial right of return into Palestine.
Perhaps Syria and Jordan could take some refugees. The Jewish refugees will have to be compensated as well. I worry more about settlements, lack of aid and the status of Jerusalem for Palestinians. Many refugees are radicalized and prone to extremism. |

No. It will not work. A better deal would be Israel being recognized as the rightful owners of West Jordan and Southwest Syria and, if the Arabs behave, permitting them to live in peace. |

that was not a peace plan, that was the arabs wish. there ARE peace plans that have been negotiated, but the arabs don't abide by them.
there will be no right of return.
and the arabs haven't agreed to anything. the saudis proposed it, but neither side likes it. you've chosen the worst of all possible plans. |

I like that plan, but It will never happen.
Palestinians have already accepted Israel's right to exist, its about time they show the same respect.
If this plan is ever put into place, and the palestinians get jerusalem as their capital it will completely prove the koran wrong and I will personally convert to Judaism. |

The UN, including the US, has vetoed and declared Israel's illegal annexation of the Golan Heights null and void as well as the rest of the world-the same for illegal attempts to annex parts, or, all of the West Bank and Garza strips, so what is their unilateral reasoning for such attempts outside of their misinterpetation of God's promise of residency, rather than, ownership of these areas?
The Israelis are still stealing land and killing Palestinians to get it. They need to let the Palestinians keep what is left of their land-the West Bank(incidentally, this still includes Arab East Jerusalem-Israel refuses to define her southern borders with the West Bank making several unilateral attempts to annex Arab East Jerusalem-vetoed by the UN as well as non UN countries). Peace would be welcome if Israel STOPPED her aggressive, murderous tactics.
Besides, in 25-30 years, Israel will be a Jewish state with a MAJORITY Arab population-no negotiations or war needed unless Israel continues underhanded techniques to etnically cleanse(KILL) Arabs.
The promise that is the basis of the term "promised land" is contained in Genesis 15:18-21 of the Hebrew Bible:
"On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abrham and said, "To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates - the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites, Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites."
The verse is said to describe what are known as "Borders of the Land" (Gevulot Ha-aretz). In Jewish tradition these borders define the maximum extent of the land promised to the descendants of Abraham through his son Isaac(2nd born-the Jewish lineage and Ishmael the 1st born and the Arab lineage) and grandson Jacob.Even according to Jewish customs, the oldest son, which is Ishmael, is entitled to the father's inheritance, but because Sarah despised Ishmael, she wanted Isaac to get the inheritance and had Abraham exhile Ishmael. Neither is Ishmael illegitimate but the legal son of his SECOND wife Hagar-Genesis 16: "And Sarah Abraham's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abraham had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abraham to be his WIFE(my emphasis).
The promise is made to Abraham and the descendants of his son Isaac, and Isaac's son Jacob, Abraham's grandson as they are all given promise that their descendants will be given a territory from the river of Egypt to the Euphrates river. No where does it say the Israelis/Jews OWNED the land, nor were they to take it from, and, kill the Palestinians. The Israelis/Jews were given a land ONLY to reside in as many Jews already had among the Palestinians.God clearly states whom the land belongs to-"the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites, Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites." Of all these people, only the Palestinians whom are considered Canaanites, are still around. Except for Iran and Israel, Arabs own all of what was Canaan.
It is Israel whom is illegally occupying the West Bank and Gaza strips, illegally building Jewish ONLY settlements and buffer zones from land stolen from murdered INNOCENT civilian Palestinians using machine guns and tanks. It is not the Palestinians cutting off power, water, food, medicines, and jobs-just HOW would YOU protect yourself from annhilation by occupiers if your government couldn't?
Israel has violated NUMEROUS international laws, including to treat the Arabs fairly under the British Mandate, building Illegal Jewish only settlements on stolen Palestinian land, killing peace activasts, using cluster and phosphorous bombs, killing innocent civilians-do you want the whole list or just the top 100?Then they can not figure why the Palestinians are firing home made missles into southern Israel. This time around, the Palestinians are not going to LEAVE OR BE KILLED as the murderous Jewish terorists ,Irgun(now Likud)-actually labeled as such by the British), did in 1948. It is they whom are fighting for there lives and property and to prevent Israel's ethnic cleansing of Arabs-do you see the Palestinians doing to Israel what the Israelies are doing to the Palestinians?
The following link gives some UNBIASED statistics on deaths on BOTH sides-see whom has the right to protect themselves from whom-it sure isn't the Israelis:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/10659472@N02/
Don't take my word for it-listen to the IDF soldiers of the "Break the Silence", peace group speak out AGAINST the atrocities of their Israeli army-bless their truly human hearts for taking a MORAL stance against such atrocities:
