I kind of straddle the fence on the issue because I think it is good for the economy, but not sure it is worth it because it tempts non-practicing Muslims. I think if tourists are going to visit the country then the businesses should not cater to their need for alcohol as tourists should observe the culture and tradition of the country. I definitely think it would be easier to stop the sell of alcohol because to my knowledge they are sold in stores, but hashish is sold on the streets and harder to control as would be prostitution. It is mainly the locals who support these two activities more than the tourists do. |

They shouldn't allow it! Morocco is a Muslim country and Alcohol is Haram, it just makes no sense! They will get punished for allowing it. |

Why is it that alcohol bothers you so much but not hashish which is pretty much part of Moroccan society, or prostitution? |

Well, Prohibition in America essentially started organized crime (the Maffia, etc.). People will get it one way or another. So, yes, it'd make it easier on everyone. |

The question is why they shouldn't.
You didn't explain why you were against, but if it's because of the religious taboo, you forget that not all Moroccans are Muslims, and not all Moroccan Muslims are practicing. It's up to the person to forbid himself, not for everyone to do the job for him, even if he doesn't want it..
It it's for health issues, well then it should be forbidden all around the world. And again, if you know a thing is bad for your health and still do it, it's one's fault, not the community.
So my answer is, it should be allowed for sale freely for adults regardless of religion, normally and without restriction.
ps: i never drank in my life and think never will, but it's a matter or free choice. |

Morocco already does. You can buy it in the cities and villages normally have 1 bar and many people make there own home made beer.
Even if it is illegal people will still drink it. Look at Saudi, almost everyone there drinks. They just make it themselves, bribe customs or have political connections. |
