The last magazine I bought on a regular basis was Scope.

These modern, fancypant "men's magazines" are simply trying to do to men what Cosmopolitan and those types did to women.... i.e. turn them into spineless consumers willing to spend money on anything just in order to appear "good enough"...

And You.. don't get me started. I've had enough of "koekblik" celebrities....

I suggest to everyone reading this to get Popular Mechanics.
No, its got nothing to do with famous oily ppl.
This mag covers everything under the sun: technology, cars, DIY, cool gadgets, anything goes.
And its the only independent version outside America (so i gather)

I was also getting FHM but then the captions started getting boring, after that I only get it once in a while (only to ask myself 'why?').

I get SpeednSound or VDUB every month - i skip one if it looks boring , i buy GQ or Mens Health once in a while and also used to buy FHM but it has has lost its appeal recently....
Styvies - i will check it out , have seen it on the shelves at CNA , but have never bought it , sounds interesting...

I subscribe to PC Format you get a "free" double sided DVD full of free software it a well put together technology magazine I read it cover to cover the same day I recieve it.

I buy "Mens health", "Car magazine" and "Speed and Sound".

I always wanted to buy "Popular Mechanics" buy I never got around to it.

Always used to buy the you in SA would like to read it again but my sister tells me only common people read the You in SA. I will have to wait and see if anyone will leave one in the DR'S waiting room and then pretend like i am not interested. I still love the You and buy them when i am in SA and read them back here in Uk.

I subscribe to Food 24, which is part of the You family. For a yearÂ´s online subscription, I get a 6 months Fair Lady sub included which my sister in Somerset West gets, as it is only apppicable to SA residents. Why waste 6 months magazine? I used to get Getaway, but postage was getting too expensive.

For me I would get Fair Lady and Value. I couldnÂ´t be bothered with buying You, but I read it when my sister buys it. Lol!

when i was 16 my whole allowance went into a TIME subscription... nothing has changed - exept that i have some change left for maverick and noseweek... and the cosmo if i feel like relaxing! =)

I read the magazine from cover to cover. Though I was disappointed with the December issue. It had a free trashy novel that made me want to hurl.

Also I read most of the parenting magz.

Don't tell anyone but I secretly read my wifes YOU, People and Heat collection...
I used to buy the FHM but found it to be a waste as I only ever read the true stories and bar room jokes.

I used to love the speed and sound and the cape ads, i know the latter is not a mag, but I loved bargain hunting.
