Sad - wishful thinking back to days that you want to have over again because they were so special and you can never have it back again.

For the past couple of days, I,ve been walking down the memory lane of my past with a very close and dear relative. He was a very special guy, intelligent, loving, kind and considerate. Always ready to laugh or tell a joke. I have many regrets for things that I did / did not do, things I did / did not say, things that could have made a difference to my present life. But I have now decided that life is very short and should be lived to the fullest. If something feels right in our hearts, then we should just throw caution to wind and live to enjoy it.

Cheri, I,ve discovered that memory lane is a quiet and lonely place, filled with both sad and happy memories. Alot of happy ones have been resurficing over the last few days, and as I remember, I hold onto each one with desperation for a brother I,ve loved & lost so tragically on Easter Saturday. He was one of a kind, and will always be remembered for the good times that we shared, for the love that he so willingly gave to me, and for all the fun times that we shared.
Other than that, I also have a few regrets about things that I should have done in my past, and things that I didn't get to do, some of which will affect my future, but none of which can be altered, now.

Its a mixture of emotions really.

I mostly feel mad and sad that I was so young dumb and everything else under the sun. Yet I appreciate all that I have now and think it was worth the wait and all that strain.

It makes me sad:
Because i miss, and would like to relive the experiences of romance and achievements of my youth, correcting and improving on those experiences and missed opportunities which also in a sense make me mad.

For some of us our memories are our prison. They keep us living in the past.

I sometimes think of the missed opportunities that could have changed my life. Mostly I'd say glad when I am referring to my personal life. When I look back I see myself as a young man who has changed for the better and have achieved something in life.

I am mad however when I look at what certain things were in the past in South Africa. I am sure we would not have had electricity problems, crime and corruption. I remember how it was versus what we have to deal with now.

Bull 8
For me, reflection is a route to anxiety, ie: have I done all that I could do with my opportunities, did I make the correct decisions at different forks in the road etc etc.
I would say my walks down memory lane lead to contentment at present (I'm still relatively young so theres a long way to go), some very poor decisions mixed with some very good achievements, all balances out for me to date although there is the odd bit of self pity at past mistakes or a laugh at some foolish endeavours.

?
Sometimes I feel sad...at times I feel happy!!!

It makes me sad, because all I have of the past are the memories. That which I remember can never be the same again. It is like being homesick. One is actually only wanting to relive those lovely memories one has of the "good times" one had. But, unfortunately, the world has changed so much that things can never be the same again.

I remember places where we used to play as kids. Sadly there are just buildings, roads and more buildings there now.

I enjoy the memories, but it makes me sad that I can never enjoy those special moments in real life again.

Only sad Dear! For the wasted time and missed opportunity's!

I only remember the good times, not the bad, the bad times I have "forgotten".

Depends on the memory. i find happy memories make me feel a sense of longing to relive those times. Cant happen, but boy would it be nice to!

Jeez
It's all three Cheri, Like others i feel sad and angry at times because of the things i didn't do and things that i did. Some memories are just filled with happiness, and i wish all my memories were like that.
