Hi Unathi, it has taken me more than an hour to decide WHICH is the BEST book I have ever read. The author is, no doubt about that, Roald Dahl. He wrote so many books, for adults and for children, that it is truly difficult to decide which is the best. So, after so much thought, my book "The collected short stories of Roald Dahl". To reduce that to one of the stories, I have to say "Switch *****", the story about his uncle Oswald. Roald Dahl was the most amazing writer, his tales had a twist to it, that made one think, and rethink for ages afterwards. And his books will never bore me. He had such a mischievous sense of humour.
*Edit* I forgot about this censoring thing on Yahoo. The name of the story is: S w i t c h *********. |

I have a love for the books by Heinz G Konsalik. The best book I read must have been The Doctor of Stalingrad. This made him famous and was adapted as a movie in 1958. Some 83 million copies sold of his 155 novels made him the most popular German novelist of the postwar era. He is buried in Cologne.
Very interesting question and I really had to think. |

The best for me was the book they used in Grade one to teach me how to read. I do not know the name of this book, but without it's help I would not have been able to read all the other fantastic books I read in my life after it. |

Another Roadside Attraction by Tom Robbins. This one is a great book and is hilarious, but is way to deep for most people on this site. It will sail right over your head!! |

Nice question.
I have to divide this into 2:
At a time when I really needed it: "Conversations with God" - an unbaised, non-religious book dealing with our spirituality and connection with others.
For fun: "Pillars of the Earth" - Ken Follet |

This is such a HARD question since I absolutely adore reading. Let's see, if I had to choose just one, I guess it would be "Danger In The Shadows" by Dee Henderson. I think I've read the series that follows that book, and that book itself, atleast a dozen times.
What a great question.....I'm still fighting my brain to put more then just that one. =D |

It is hard for me to pick just one. But I guess I would have to say. 'A child called it' by Dave Pelzer. That is a great book. I mean it will make you cry and make you mad the hole time you read it. But there is like 2 more books that go with that one. But I love his books. |
