it's crazy! have you noticed that so far all moves for the sake of peace has come at israel's expense? - and what for, we gave them Gaza, they repay us by electing Hamas and bringing them even closer to our cities, we evacuated Gush Katif, throwing hundreds of innocent people out of beautiful homes so that peace may be restored, and what have they done with it..... have they continued to grow insect free veg like the jewish settelers before them did with the land - no! they just turned it into a military base!!!!!!!!!!!

slowly slowly, we are giving away the land of good people and handing them over to murderers!!!!!

i don't have an ounce of sympathy for the palistinians - we give them land and they don't use it to home the 'poor, homeless people' they keep crying about, rather they give it to Hamas, which proves that all this is not for the sake of peace but rather a plot to gradually bit by bit to wipe israel off the map!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if olmert hands over part of Jerusalem to them, i think he should be bought in front of a court of law and prosecuted for handing over land to confirmed murderers, knowing that this decision will end up costing jewish lives when Hammas moves into the heart of jerusalem!!!!

I agree. Thinking simply evacuating some area and calling Palestine will bring peace will in truth only cause more war. To achieve true peace, a complete overhaul is needed. This includes but is not limited to the incorporation and success of democracy, the de-arming of terrorist groups and formal disavowal of armed struggle, and the official recognition of Israel's right to exist. Currently, none of these provisions have been met. When Israel gave land under these conditions, the democracy was overthrown (easily), the terrorist group Hamas increased in strength, and the call for Israel's destruction was more forcefully projected. Clearly we must learn from history and stop foolishly thinking that land/freedom is all that is going on.

You are not saying anything new. We have been talking about these concerns for weeks on this forum.
All of us are afraid that the rockets keep being launched. All of us are concerned and all of us hope that there will be peace one day.

Diana, I did give my opinion. I said all of us are afraid that the rockets keep being launched.. The word "all of us" means including me. I am not G-d to know for sure if the rockets will stop or will continue. All what I can do is hope that they stop. You are not the only ones affected by these rockets. The innocent palestinians are equally affected. With each Quassam rocket launched, the Israelis have to make more restrictions and the Palestinian civilians get affected by that. For example, if there were no rockets and terrorists from Hamas, the Israelis wouldn't keep that much of checkpoints which dely palestinians from their work and sometimes cause women to give birth on streets. I hope you understand what I mean. We also hope that Hamas stop launching rockets for the safty of both sides.

You're so right and,according to international law, land conquered during a "defensive war" may be annexed by the attacked country. Thats how Israel took all of Jerusalem in the in 1967.

Occupation for the longest time ever if i was the Palestinians id probably be doing the same thing, plus to sustain themselves the palestinians need back all of the greater gaza area not just that, how can you sustain a population of 1 million with that piece of land israel gave back there is still more israel has to give back.

BTW Israel cant just get in a war with a country and then take the land, such a thing would be the
"right of conquest" there is no such thing as the right of conquest it is illegal under international law its also writtten in the geneva conventions that israel claims to abide by.

I won't suggest who is right and who is wrong, or to whom the land does or does not belong. Maybe both sides are right, maybe neither - but you are right. The violence and hatred and desire to reclaim the land is unlikely to end any time soon. Unfortunately, negotiation almost never works on the scale of a country, because there are too many people who will feel wronged. Usually a new territory is taken and kept (or retaken an kept) by conquering. Only when one group is too weak to take it back does it stay in the hands of the conquerers. In time things would settle down and perhaps one group would be assimilated into the other in some way (much the way Native Americans have adapted to the US way of life, while trying to retain their heritage), but you cannot usually negotiate a peace where both sides want it all.

But deep down inside your head you know that the Israeli leaders want to keep occupying land that was never part of Israel. Gaza is a small part of Palestine and the Palestinians want you to end occupation of all the Palestinian territories period for lasting peace. Are the Israeli ready for real peace or they want a piece of more land?

there is something missing in this cycle!!!
lets go back 4 a while.. palistine was 4 palestinians , and its so normal that they fight 4 their own country! as long as their country is not back they will keep fighting and fighting and fighting, not only them, at sometime later.. all mouslims will fight too and they will win!!(yes, shocking, i know)and return the land to them.
can you see the cycle??
for those who disagree they will have to find other place to go to, perhaps make their own land and not taking others right??!!

israel attacks gaza almost everyday, so you should be asking the same question about poor little israel. WILL THEY STOP ATTACKING GAZA AND THE WEST BANK ?
